Not sure why this thread is not closed already. Title that has nothing to do with the post, and a post which is clearly just a "look at me" attempt by someone rather than posting in the proper thread.

That quote seems a little crazy considering they have had Boldin and Steve Smith there. Admittedly they were at the end of their careers, but Maclin could not hold their jocks still.

I think people are jumping to conclusion here a bit. Sal also reported that Maclin had not been in touch with the Bills and that they reached out proactively to him today to up their offer. This would suggest that the Bills were interested, but Maclin was not. The offer obviously did not blow him away enough to change his mind and raise Buffalo from third to first. I think he would have been a great addition at this point, but would not blame the Bills at all for not overpaying him. That is part of the problem we need to fix.

I hope he gets busted and loses his ESPN deal. Sore loser is know, but screw him.

I really like what they are doing here. A complete remodeling of the front office is what people have been calling for and what we are getting without a doubt. None of us know how they will ultimately perform but they seem to be building a highly skilled FO of younger blood. I like it all so far, including McD. Time will tell of course. I expect Overdorf will not be around too long, and that Pegs is allowing him a more graceful exit given his longevity and unique position over the years with the Wilson's. That said I expect Beane will take the lead on that front ultimately.

Could not agree more. No one here knows the specifics about performance of any of these individuals. When organizations fail, it is the fault of management. Period. For people to jump to conclusions about average people who are doing their jobs, is sad. It seems to me the better approach would have been to allow the new GM to pick and choose who from the old staff were worth keeping and who did not fit going forward. Pay them in the interim. I do not like this part of today's move, although I do think Whaley has run his course here.

Agree with this. Everyone wants the perfect QB but they are very few and far between. In the end it comes down to what you can assemble around the QB skills you have. In Taylor's case, clearly a better point defending defense is necessary. The Bills were just no good in that category the past two years. You also need to have an offense that leverages his skills. The running game is not enough. I am of the opinion that the design of the Bills passing offense the past two years did not help him. Let's see what we get this year. The Bills do have weapons and presumably will gain more in the draft.

You are probably right on all points, but further, I really do not think Belicheat is all that concerned about the future. His future as coach is tied to Tom Brady. When Brady retires, so will he. Who will take over for Tommy is the least of his concerns.

The Bills spent a 5th round pick on a RB last year. He was highly thought of before injury cost him his senior year. He had not played in over a year before joining the Bills last year and he found himself at the bottom of the depth chart behind MG and Rex's pet project. People are underestimating him because he did not show much in very limited time last year. Let's see what we have. There is no urgent need here. If Williams does not show enough during offseason work and training camp there will be options, potentially other discarded diamonds in the rough like MG available. In any case, despite his stats and the outpouring of fan angst, MG is replaceable.
