  1. Can't you just see the next Sully article, about Rex losing control of his team? Or maybe piling on Whaley for picking a kid with such obvious attitude problems? If I had to bet, it would Rex losing control but one or the other is highly likely.
  2. Bucky should stick to expressing meaningless and ill informed opinions of the Sabres, rather than diluting his brand as a whining incompetent by spreading his lack of understanding across two sports.
  3. Get out of here with those facts. The Bills pass rush sucks this year. Ryan clearly does not know what he is doing. On a serious note, the Bengals ranking here is of serious concern given how our tackles have struggled at times this year with pressure from the edge.
  4. Thanks for the insight, Yolo. They are off to a hot start, and since most of us have not seen much of them, the inevitable hype of the national media is what we see and hear. There are no doubt some chinks in the armor and it will be up to the Bills' coaches to figure that out. Chief among these would have to be that Dalton did not turn into Rogers or Brady overnight. He is what he is and at some point he will come back to level. I think the Bills defense will do its part, but the offense is going to have to be much better to win. It should be a good and close game.
  5. The Bengals are certainly playing good football right now, but I would hardly call this game a lock. Collingsworth is obviously very excited that his former team is playing so well so far this season, so I give him that, but the Bills are not pushovers and are perfectly capable of beating the Bengals if they play a complete game.
  6. I saw the Browns play. It looked to me like he took a couple of steps and deliberately labeled him with the ball long gone. That was the right call. The call on Graham was much closer. I thought the Graham hit was legal as he had no chance to let up. The ball had barely passed the receiver when Graham hit him.
  7. People seem to be a bit down on the defense today but I thought they played a heroic game. With the offense putting them back on the field after 3 and out time and again, they gave up only 3 points in the first half, keeping the team in it. They were great at the end of the game once the Bills took the lead. Game ball to the defense.
  8. Ah, yes, the "homer" card has been played.
  9. That's the same "division leader" the Bills blew out on opening day, right? Sorry, not buying your logic. The Bills are a better team and should win this game handily, even down two of their best playmakers. Of course as we all know, "should" and "will" are very different things, and the Bills team that destroyed Indy and Miami, not the one who struggled against the Giants, needs to show up. I think they will. Bills 37 - 13
  10. And this surprises you? If this board were a person, it would be strongly medicated for bipolar disorder.
  11. Where have you been all week? Based on the reports of posters here this week, I started building a boat.
  12. I agree. No way. He does not make that 51 yard kick Carpenter made, for sure.
  13. That was very weak - almost non-existent you might say. The cut block call on Richie was quite literally non-existent. He clearly engaged him above the waist.
  14. Great post. Thanks for being the voice of reason. I am mad because I will have to avoid the media coverage and this board for the better part of the week until all the angst works itself out a bit. Rationality generally returns in enough quantity by Friday to make bills news and discussion tolerable again. Cheers. Go Bills!
  15. I think it is up to you to explain the ridiculous premise of your post. Enlighten us with the basis for your conspiracy theory please.
  16. Although he did get beat badly by Aiken for the first Ravens TD.
  17. This sounds like it could be a while. They may have to activate Wood next week if so, but I am not sure who to cut ...
  18. Watkins was out of the game for nearly 3 quarters last week and Harvin was just fine. Hogan picked up the slack on the other side and even made a long pass play. I think they have enough weapons in the passing game to compensate, even if they double Harvin deep. That said, I would love to see Goodwin play to keep the D honest with real speed on the other said.
  19. There has been a great deal of negative chatter on this forum this week regarding Dixon. I get it - he did not have a good game last week. However, I think people may have forgotten how he attained near folk hero status last year. He was absolutely our best back for a significant portion of last season, with Spiller failing and Jackson hurt. Even when Jackson returned, he was clearly not the same and Dixon was the most reliable back. I am certainly willing to give Boobie some time to work himself out of whatever his issue is. I suspect lingering effects from the calf injury he suffered which kept him out of the pre-season. He is likely going to need some time to regain top form. Given his willingness and ability to play special teams, his running style, work ethic, and leadership I would much rather have him than Brown.
  20. I am trying to temper my enthusiasm, but I just do not see the Giants winning this game. Eli has not thrown an interception yet this season, and he has had only one sack. Both of these stats will change this week. The Bills should be able to throw the ball very effectively against the Giants and will be able to run enough. I would like to be cautious, but this has the potential for another beat down. Bills 33 - 16
  21. Green Bay ran the same type of play near the goal line at least twice last night. Once there was a penalty called on the other time no penalty. The crew last night explained the rule as the WR cannot block before the ball is in the air. Rogers, like Brady, is getting the ball off very quickly. On McCoy's touchdown, I thought it was very close, with the block coming maybe just a fraction early. They got the benefit of the doubt on that play, but it has worked against them often enough, so I will take it.
  22. Philbin has a real loser aura about him. He will definitely get the blame for this supposedly talented team under achieving and rightly so, but I certainly do not think their front office deserves any kudos either. Pettine is a dead man walking in Cleveland too, but they may give him the year.
  23. Agreed. I am more and more impressed with the young man each week. I was very impressed with how he reacted to the NE game, not only in the 4th quarter, but after the game and throughout the week. He is exhibiting some real leadership on and off the field.
