  1. Except Drew Brees did not have 3 years as a starter and 7 in the league at that point. Not an apt comparison. Tyrod is what he is at this point. He is not Drew Brees about to blossom.
  2. Typical pretentious take by Jerry Sullivan in his parting shot to his long time employer. Good riddance to both he and Gleason, who anointed themselves the "defenders of the realm" and justified their constant negativity as "fair, objective, and passionate" when it only occasionally was. What they did not seem to understand is that being a constant contrarian does not equate to fair and objective, and eventually becomes very boring, if not outright annoying, while alienating the very people in the organizations they are assigned to write about. This made them both ineffective and "bad for business" in the end. Perhaps the News will look for a new columnist who does not just pretend to care about the fans, but actually demonstrates it by taking their job seriously, and not themselves.
  3. I listened to it, and do not see what is "bone chilling" about. These guys are not credible even a little bit.
  4. More likely he would be mounted by Tom Brady.
  5. You are being disengenuos. It is obviously a political issue at this point. But then again, I am an idiot in your opinion because I do not agree with you about players being forced to stand.
  6. Having a hard time caring what a second rate talent like Colt McCoy thinks about the coaching he received. He obviously did not listen or was incapable of translating the coaching into performance, no matter the coach.
  7. Crack, more like it.
  8. Yes, it is refreshing to see that there is actually a plan. For far too long it was apparent there was no plan, or to be generous, a bad plan. We will see how it plays out, but there is no question these guys are executing a well thought out strategy.
  9. I do not miss the clown show one bit. I am perfectly happy with boring, quote free press conferences so long as there are tangible results in evidence on the field. As for injuries, McD opens his PCs with injury updates as well.
  10. If you click on this click bait and read his tweets, this is not a win/loss projection. He has done that separately and has Buffalo projected at 5.7 wins, still third worst in the league. Not sure what this analysis is worth - not much really.
  11. A matter of perspective I guess. Your conclusion is a reasonable one, but I see it differently: 1. Pass offense - hard to be worse than 31st, but possible I guess. I think they are better from a passing offense perspective at QB. Although they will miss the occasional spectacular improvisional play from Taylor, this can be made up by having an actual passing QB. We will see. A healthy Benjamin and year 2 for Jones makes this immediately better, assuming Benjamin can remain in the lineup and Jones does take a step. Assumptions but not unreasonable. I like the potential of Streeter and a few of the younger guys. Not world beaters but adequate. Certainly no worse than last year. Better depending on Benjamin. TE - serviceable if not spectacular. 2. OL - Losing Incognito hurts. Not clear whether any of others can step up. Woods was good, but not dominant and could be replaced by Groy fairly easily based on past experience, and Bodine could also factor in. Not worried there. Dawkins had already supplanted Glenn. RT no change. We drafted a very promising rookie guard. I do not believe the doom and gloom around the OL is warranted. 3. RB - Older, yes, but I believe better depth than last year. If Shady goes down, its all over. Same as it has been. 4. Defense - agree - should be better. Probably just a glass half full guy, but I think this team is improved. That does not guarantee results of course - they got some breaks last year - but I see them as competitive for the playoffs, and certainly not championship caliber. 6 to 10 win range depending on the breaks.
  12. Maybe you will be praying for Tyrod's return, but not me. Done with that. It is way too early for the doom and gloom predictions.
  13. "Yes, I really am a giant, gaping, a-hole."
  14. Kyle was a fifth round pick. It does not mean they will have the same career, but this kid does seem to share many of the same characteristics as a player and a person, so it is certainly possible. It will be fun to watch his development this year.
  15. The Bills did tender him, and also offered a two year contract. NE offered more money.
  16. Very impressive, and its easy to see what the Bills saw in him. I have seen the lowlight reels too, so I am not blind to his flaws, but man, when he is on he is impressive. Optimistic.
  17. It is a team building vs. talent collection approach. The Bills did it the opposite way for years and where did it get them? The objective is to get the most talented players who also fit into your team vision. Early results last year are promising.
  18. I don't know of course, but this kid strikes me as a nickel/slot guy who might be versatile enough to swing outside when needed, not the long term replacement for Davis, who is on a one year deal. They could strike lightening, you never know. I expect they will be looking to draft a corner high (first 2/3 rounds at least) in next years draft for the other starting outside spot long term.
  19. Yes, and this is actually the same approach as last year. Clearly they are executing a plan. They hope to be competitive while they are building, but Beane has said many times this is is a process that will take some time. Next year they are out of cap hell and will have a group of young players to build on, and money to fill other holes in free agency. This year is going to be very much like last year.
  20. You are the Super Bowl of posters as usual. I admit to liking other QBs more in this draft, but I also admit I am not an expert, and tend to think that the people who do this for a living know what they are doing, despite the hand wringing and hysteria of the causal fans around here who do not. I am thrilled they made the move to ensure they got the QB they wanted. We have been collectively whining for years about the timid approach at OBD to finding a franchise QB. Well, that's over. The cost is the cost. What did people think they were accumulating these pieces for? Here is hoping they can coach this kid up and we will be watching a return to real competitiveness by the Bills in the years to come. Go Bills.
  21. Watching on Roku. Behind the live feed. Sucks.
  22. Starting to look like the only quarterbacks Beane were interested in were Mayfield or Darnold. Either that or he is playing an amazing game of Chicken. I am preparing to be very disappointed.
