I noticed his holding penalty that killed a drive, I think in the 3rd Q. Any way to get him snaps is good I guess. I much prefer Beane find a better TE#2 and move on from Sweeney.

The good and the bad (just one each) for you in this game

1/9/22 Gameday AFCE Champs vs Jets Postgame Thread.
Bob in STL replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
Really ? We just won 27-10. In cold weather and high winds we gained 424 yards. The Jets gained 53. Do you think we are going to score 40+ points every week??? -

5 running backs including a FB. One TE. Tommy Sweeney is a disappointment this season. -
This should have been Mitch Trubisky time

There, there, Mrs. Trubisky, it will be ok. -
Ha Ha. It appears you haven’t been around too many coaches. In this case a professional coach benches a professional player that earns and deserves their respect, otherwise they get told to “get the F out”. Especially when they are acting selfish at halftime of an important game, and right after you talked to him in the locker room. No coach is going to take that crap on the sideline. The coach did not publicly embarrass him, AB did that all by himself. Besides, AB is not embarrassed by it, he would have to be thinking clearly for that to happen. Clearly he isn’t.
-
I can’t believe it’s even up for debate. Arians kicked AB off the sideline because of his behavior. He wanted more targets to get a cash bonus. Any coach worth a damm would have done the same. The story of how much of distraction he has become is out there. Look at his behavior before the game, during the game, after the game - the guy is crazy. Any team that signs him is asking for trouble.

Week 18: Jets at Bills - a W wins the AFC East!
Bob in STL replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agree. I can see spending time inside to get the game plan in. Then I would have them run through things in the cold and snow. -
Allen throws into the wind better than anyone in the league. The Pats* threw three passes in our stadium all game, would they qualify as more impacted by wind than us? We need establish a run game to keep the oponent honest, then we can pass. We will be fine at home. I want as many home games as we can get, it is a big advantage preparation wise, plus the crowd in Buffalo can help lot.

... only if they beat the Jets and Cincy losses. Lets play the games first.

I love the idea of a rebuilding part of downtown, south of HSBC, including into South Buffalo to accommodate a multi-purpose Dome, include plenty of Parking and tailgating, a few more hotels, restaurants, and shops. This would include a plan to manage traffic in and out. I cant see it happening because of cost, time, and politics but it would really enhance the city IMO. I have seen some interesting plans for the Buffalo Skyway, both for and against taking it down. This could be a factor in a downtown stadium and probably swing the votes toward staying in OP.

WFT to have new name and logo on Feb. 2nd
Bob in STL replied to Walking Tall's topic in The Stadium Wall
"nomenclature"? thanks for the good laugh. -
Well we ran better against Carolina too. Not sure how you can tell how much change we have made in the the OL blocking calls without inside information unless you study video of every play and track it all season? The last two games we are breaking more runs, there is more push, we have less backs getting hit behind the line. That is what I see.

Week 18: Jets at Bills - a W wins the AFC East!
Bob in STL replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
We never worried about weather in the Kelly/Marv era. We actually welcomed bad weather. It just shows how much the game has changed, and how differently the two Bills teams are built. The "If its too tough for them its just right for us" mentality is gone. Daboll better have a run game, with a run package, in the game plan. Not only for this week but for next week as well. We need to have a more diverse attack and not depend on Allen passes and Allen runs for 90 % of our yards. -

I want the AFCE Title. Anything less is a step back. We need to be ready to play hard and take it.- 638 replies

No denying that the OL has opened more holes for the running game since Bates stepped in. Keep playing him if he is healthy to go.

Missing Out on Top Seed Was a Blessing in Disguise
Bob in STL replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall
So look at these games in bad weather and tell us how the opposing QB did? If the weather is so bad that it limits the passing game then the Bills need to run, stop the run, and win the ST part of the game. Just like any other championship caliber team would have to do. It is up to Beane and McD to build that team, not Josh. Josh had his worst passing game (statistically) yesterday, yet he was the primary reason they won. -

Two were tipped. The third was illegal contact on Beasley, Josh put the ball in the right spot. -
Week 17 Gameday Bills vs Falcons Postgame Thread -PLAYOFFS!
Bob in STL replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
He was throwing well, the tipped INTs are more about him making the correct assessment, not his throwing. He was throwing lasers, several were dropped that would have been big. The great thing about Allen, he was more than happy and willing to beat them with his running. -
This team is built for a DOME-Bills kill another narrative
Bob in STL replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes, they ran the ball against Atlanta. They needed to win a game like that. Allen has proven he can pass in bad weather and run in it. We still need to develop the offense more for the plays when Allen hands off. Get better guards and a second TE that blocks like a son of B word and has good hands. Add a big, fast NFL running back. Beane should put more emphasis on this, it will make our offense much more diverse. It would open things up for Allen if they have to bring a safety up instead of 2 deep most of the time. We need this part of the game no matter what kind of stadium you have. -
And I’ll be honest, facing Belichick a 3rd time is not something I want. Sure, we are home and we are better but when you play the Pats* you also play the officials, especially in the playoffs - no team gets more help from officials than the Pats*.
-
No doubt our run game and red zone would be better with him on the team. Sweeney as a #2 was not as effective as Smith as a #3.

Barkley was a Panther and that didn’t help them to much.
