  1. Agree. The second the offense sees one CB on the field there will be a audible to a pass play and someone will be wide open for a big play.
  2. Sure, like no team has EVER won anything with a starter injured. You should just stop watching and stop posting.
  3. Yes, having a defense that ranks in the top 3 in every meaningful category is very bad. Oh brother, “flip players tor picks” , brilliant.
  4. Rookie. 6th rounder. What were you expecting?
  5. MNF will be the biggest game of the season with Bills hosting Pats*. I have to treat that as our SB for now. Win that and go to the next level.
  6. I am happy with the win. I liked the cleaner play. Less stupid penalties. Still concerned about the blocking up front. Glad to see Edmunds back. Worried about Tre White. Go Bills!!!
  7. I hope they play the younger DE's like Rousseau and Epenesa much more. It is week 12, time to give the youth a chance to step up.
  8. I think you may be correct. This game, and the next one, will tell us what kind of team we have.
  9. Establishing the run is still the essence of football. Yes, it’s a passing game today but you can still win with a running game and great defense. You probably will not win it all being one dimensional in any aspect. Running requires physical and mental dominance and that tends to improve all facets of a teams game. The Bills need to run enough to keep Josh from having to do it all.
  10. Correct. Last year he made better game day decisions. When it comes to readiness and execution, the coaches can do only so much. At some point the players self motivation had to take over. Who are the leaders? Which players hold others accountable?
  11. Win the next 2 and things swing the other way. Let’s see what they are made of.
  12. I don’t expect to see him Thursday. I hope he is ready for NE the following week. Brown is the guy we need right now.
  13. Yes, I am not writing this season off either, but it looks like we are accomplishing less as team and it’s reflected in the WL record. We aren’t surprising anybody on offense anymore, everyone knows Allen is the key. Good defenses have a blueprint on how to keep our offense in check. Our defense has been very good overall , but certainly with some issues against the run were the 4-2-5 gets outmanned. Depth is a concern for this team at OL and TE. The fact that Ford played on Sunday speaks volume about the others on the OL. I expect NO will try to establish a running game too. It’s important we jump out to a lead. Short week, we need to keep it simple and execute the basics. That means stop the mistakes, penalties, and turnovers.
  14. Good post as usual. I don’t think we are far away from being a dominant team but right now we look like the 1989-90 Bills after a breakout 1988-89 season. Roster construction on the OL is the root of the problems on offense. We started the season with Brown and Doyle as backups, both rookies. That was a huge mistake. Brown is a pleasant surprise but Doyle is not an NFL caliber swing tackle right now. Williams regression at RT is a major issue that no one saw coming after a pro bowl year. His play is a major negative difference from last season. He dropped from stud RT to only a serviceable RG at best. Last year we were weak at OG and yet we brought back the exact same cast. We did nothing to improve the interior OL. Feliciano is another year older and it shows. He is a warrior, but limited in skills. Boeggter is not a quality starter or backup. Ford is a bust. Morse is average. Dawkins is having a sub par season that started with Covid complications. Beane failed the OL and Daboll has not found a way to overcome the problem. The defense can use more beef, more lead in its azz, but they also cannot stick with a 4-2-5 alignment on running teams. Just not enough beef in the box. A little more creative looks maybe? Why stick with your base when it’s not working? I think we saw much more evidence on Sunday that Klein is a backup LB and the negative talk about Edmunds needs to stop. Our defense was terrible in the first half and that’s when we needed the ball and we needed to build a lead ourselves. Just stopping a few first half 3rd downs conversations, and stopping the dumb penalties, may have been the difference. We need to play with the lead against running teams. Special Teams - they have given up several game changing plays this season. The Pittsburgh blocked punt, the undisciplined holding on a kickoff return that would have swung the Titans game our way, and the McKenzie fall and fumble. Last year none of this happened. McDermott - he has to be accountable for team readiness, the continued flow of bad penalties, and some ineffective or questionable game management decisions. Yes, this season reminds me of the 1989-90 Bills after a breakout 1988-89 season. Who are the leaders that will emerge and get us back on track. We are so much better than 6-4.
  15. Tre played. Every team has injuries. Last year we played without Star, we had games with Milano out and Edmunds playing with a bad shoulder. Injuries are part of the game. Depth on the OL is a huge problem.
  16. Hitting on a premium OL draft pick and then on a medium level free agent - that will help. We have to improve the depth. McD seems afraid to play anyone below Ford on the depth chart. We have Tommy Doyle, Jamal Douglas, and Ryan Bates.
  17. True but most people wanted a pass rusher with the first pick. There is a school of though here not to take OG/C or RB in round #1. I like the Rousseau pick and still do. We had some excellent OG/C options at 2. He could have upgraded guard. TE depth was not addressed, the hope was Knox gets better, which he has. I just wish we had a guy like Lee Smith. We do miss his blocking, red zone catches, and leadership. RB - we brought in Brieda. He should play more and get more touches. DT - went with DE Boogie in round 2.
  18. Seriously. What are you talking about?
  19. Indeed. And a few times we stopped them on 3rd down we took stupid penalties. Our first offensive series, seeing Ford take a procedure penalty to kill an easy first down was disheartening. It only got worse. On offense how many passes were dropped? I can think of 8.
  20. The were on the Injured/Covid list. Get a grip. I am not interested in your political rants or your childish attacks on people you don’t even know. The Mods said to keep Covid and politics out of this thread. My point is valid. We cannot function with two OL starters out. We have no backups.
  21. Allen was not the problem. Sure, he had a bad pick after penalties turned a sure first down into 3rd and 18. How many drops? I counted 5 in a row in the 3Q alone. The blocking is terrible. We cannot function with 2 OL injured. We have no backups.
  22. Definitely needed more players in the box than two LBs plus Poyer. By the time we did adjust to that we made mental errors in other phases of the game. Turnovers, penalties, drops …. The special teams fumble put us away. We had a few people out and no one stepped up. No one made a timely play.
  23. White played on 4-3, against the RT. The Eagles supporting cast was better most of the times. Bruce played on a 3-4, against the LT. Probably a tougher role for sure. Hard to say who was better but Bruce has the sack record.
  24. Only if we get more pressure on him than we have been. We will most likely be stacking up against the run. If he has a monster day I don’t see winning with a comfort level. The two are mutually exclusive.
  25. I agree. I will add that Ralph C Wilson was above this type of behavior. Otherwise the Bills would have been gone long ago. Ralph was not the best owner from a tactical football perspective. But his integrity and commitment to the Bills in Buffalo cannot ever be questioned.
