He’s an OC that doesn’t call plays so he’ll basically get paid to sit in meetings and joke with Rodgers

Good question - I think they start Rapp but split time with Bishop. Seems to me that the plan was always for Bishop to start at some point this season though. So i wouldn’t be shocked to see him get the nod

James cook misses practice with a foot injury Wed/Thur
JohnNord replied to iwishitwerecolder's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes and FWIW Sal said that Cook wasn’t practicing, he was on the field in the huddle and not on the sidelines. Usually a sign that he’s trying to stay involved w/ the offensive game plan. I think he plays. Samuel - no idea Like when he said Taron would play last week? -
I love how every injury a Bills player gets “tends to linger” LOL This guy is just guessing. He’s been wrong before. At one point he projected Taron to be out long term. Then he predicted he’d play last week. It’s not uncommon for these injury spotters but there’s only so much you can tell by watching a video.

He looked great over the first three games. I think the bigger problem is that the game script caught up with the lack of receiver talent - especially with Shakir out. Poor line play hasn’t helped either

What the hell is this?

Rookie WR Separation win-rates thru week 5
JohnNord replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’m guessing that a lot of the separation has been on shorter routes which Keon has always been good at. It’s separation on longer routes that he struggles with. There’s several examples from Sunday. Overall though, I think he’s done a nice job as a rookie. But there’s a lot he needs to work on still -
It makes sense but if this assumption is correct, I can’t understand why they didn’t try for better option at WR. Because you’d have to assume that once teams shift out of Cover 2, you need to be able to beat them on the outside. Even with Diggs and Davis this team was missing a fast deep threat to stretch the field. Curtis Samuel is a fast, versatile receiver but his ADOT was under 10 yards - he’s not that player. Coleman doesn’t fit that profile either I was skeptical of this WR roster before the season and I hope that Brady can figure something out because the past two weeks have looked really bad

If you’re Joe Douglas and will probably be fired after the season barring a deep playoff run, why not make a crazy offer for Adams? He really has nothing to lose

Devin White Released by Eagles. Should we take a flyer?
JohnNord replied to TonyBeets's topic in The Stadium Wall
There’s a reason he signed a $5M contract and has yet to take a snap on defense. -
There was a clip by Dan Orlavsky from ESPN who pleaded with NE not to start Maye behind this OL

Hire Saleh as defensive coordinator IMMEDIATELY
JohnNord replied to ChronicAndKnuckles's topic in The Stadium Wall
Do you honestly think Mike Shula is a threat to take over as HC? Despite his last name, if McDermott was fired, he wouldn’t even get consideration as an interim. -
Hire Saleh as defensive coordinator IMMEDIATELY
JohnNord replied to ChronicAndKnuckles's topic in The Stadium Wall
Why would he “clear the decks” before signing a new contract extension in June 2023? It doesn’t exactly sound like someone being desperate. Besides there are several coaches on the staff with previous DC/OC experience. They usually are the ones given first crack as interim HC -
This was a solid breakdown. I think Josh, play calling and the line play can get better. Shakir will help and Coleman should slowly improve. The big concern for me is the lack of talent at WR. If they don’t trade for someone, I guess the best option is to find a way to get the ball to Kincaid and Samuel…maybe even Knox

Hire Saleh as defensive coordinator IMMEDIATELY
JohnNord replied to ChronicAndKnuckles's topic in The Stadium Wall
It’s not like he had a former head coach on his staff running the defense for six seasons or anything… -
Hire Saleh as defensive coordinator IMMEDIATELY
JohnNord replied to ChronicAndKnuckles's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is a terrible, laughable idea…but the better play would be to him as a short term (as in 1 a or 2 day) consultant to share the Jets playbook and strategies. Saleh doesn’t seem like the type of guy that would do this - but he has to be pissed at the Jets -
Josh Allen Performance Yesterday..a Redux
JohnNord replied to Rich Stadium Original's topic in The Stadium Wall
They are playing Cover 1…not Cover 0. And yes, defenses don’t respect the Bills receivers on the outside. It’s going to stay like this until they make someone pay -
Are we figured out already? The issues as I see them
JohnNord replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
He had chances. Go watch Dorsey’s final 6 games as OC. You think he was waiting for his counterpunch? -
Not challenging Dalton sideline catch or Cook TD
JohnNord replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
No, that was the Cook catch out of bounds. -
This is where I am too. It’s frustrating because there doesn’t seem to be a dominating team in the AFC. My only complaint is that they didn’t draft another WR or two. Let those guys take their lumps as rookies going into season 2 where you can add maybe 1 piece to the room. I think they overvalued what Curtis Samuel and MVS would bring to the table

i don’t think the Bills viewed this roster as having a serious chance at the Super Bowl which is why they traded Diggs and moved on from vets like Mitch Morse.
-
That’s the problem and the reason why Beane called it a “team in transition.” This probably is not a Super Bowl caliber roster. They definitely aren’t at WR
-
Beane & the coaches are not on the same page! 😡
JohnNord replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’ve always said I never liked this WR room. If you look at the group on paper they are probably among the worst in football. I don’t think it’s that they aren’t belong utilized… they just aren’t very good -
Concerned that Joe Brady may have crashed back to reality.
JohnNord replied to Spiderweb's topic in The Stadium Wall
His biggest indictment was the the trick play which his admitted was bad process and bad execution. If anything, before that the offense was starting to gel a bit. The running game actually performed well against a good Ravens interior and Josh started completing a few passes downfield. With that said, when the Bills can’t run the ball passing is going to be challenge when facing strong secondaries given the WR’s
