  1. No… based on his track record they should trade down. The Bills have had better success in later round than in early ones
  2. IDK if that was a shot at McDermott. People read way too much into player comments, as though he has written this out ahead of time.
  3. I’m not really blown away by any on Kansas City’s rookies. They are decent players though I though McDuffie and Watson got beat against Cincy and were the recipients of some good luck. I really am not not impressed with Bryan Cook. Karlaftis has shown flashes but not consistency. Skyy Moore’s numbers aren’t much better Shakir’s. But they all benefitted from playing throughout the year and not riding the bench and by the end of the season they were good enough to be trusted to not screw up. Beane and McDermott HAVE to change how they draft and play rookies
  4. Part of the problem with evaluating a draft is that you need atleast 3 seasons to make a determinations. That’s why Elam and Cook are still hard to assess after just 1 season. I’d agree that Rosseau could end up being a solid pick but he has yet to see a 10-12 sack season. These might be examples of B grades which is solid but after 5 season of drafting. You need to find atleast one A with these premium picks in the draft and and Beane & co have not done that
  5. This is a depth signing. He is a player that will play ST‘S and maybe could give them a few different looks on defense. It does not appear that he is any sort of contributor on the starting defense:
  6. You are 100% correct Success. To win a Super Bowl you not only need to be good - the bounces have to go your way. If there’s anything that happened this year - it’s that the Bills did NOT get those bounces.
  7. He needs more targets. Knox can be utilized more in the passing game
  8. Here is the problem with Beane and the Bills front office and coaching. They haven’t done a good enough job finding stars in Round 1 and 2. Period. Outside of Allen and Edmunds (who they both gave up picks to trade up for), these are their selections: R1: Ed Oliver (2018) Greg Rosseau (2021) Kalir Elam (2022) R2: Cody Ford (2019) AJ Epinesa (2020) Boogie Basham (2021) James Cook (2022) We still don’t know about players like Elam and Cook. I think Rosseau still has the potential to be a good DE though I don’t think he will ever be elite. But the rest of the return from the past 4 years is really bad. You can’t draft JAG players high, which is what the Bills have done for the most part - especially on the DL.
  9. Bills fans will continue to cry 😭😭😭😭
  10. I liked Howard. His shows were never “must listen” but he did a really job as a radio host and was perfect for Buffalo. Sneaky Joe DiBiase is probably his replacement. I think he’s ok, though ideally I’d like to see WGR bring in someone new. But he’s young and radio is cheap, so he’ll get the job.
  11. OBJ sounds good on paper but he’s coming off his 2nd ACL and the only he way he signs a cheap contract is if teams have doubts about him. If he’s halfway decent, given the FA WR class, the Bills likely aren’t going to give him the contract he’ll want
  12. I think this is fair criticism. The high picks spent on Basham and Epinesa really hurt this roster badly.
  13. I agree to an extent, though I think the “2nd place mentality” stuff is a bit overdramatic. Josh usually doesn’t reveal much in his interviews. He could have just meant, you have to find ways to win like KC this off-season. If you read into it more, I think what Josh meant was that the Bills need to build an unstoppable offense that can overwhelm teams. I think this is what he was hunting at. Where I’ll agree with you is that I do think the Bills were built to Kansas City in 2022 - which they did. The problem was they didn’t match up as well to another good team like Cincinnati. They just need to get better overall regardless of who may have won the Super Bowel.
  14. Not really many similarities other than that Bills and Chiefs went into the half with a 10 point deficit. Someone here was telling me the game was over at 14-0. Clearly not the case. If your point is that the Bills offense didn’t step up…you would be correct. I’ve said for weeks now that you can argue the offense was worse than the defense
  15. As for what happened this season, Lee didn’t blame coaching. He said he watched the game and knew in real time what was happening in the Cincinnati - the team was exhausted. They played like they had no gas in the tank. He believes it was a result from a crazy season and some bad breaks. He really believes they’ll get back on track next season
  16. You may be right about fixing the offense but I feel the opposite about Dorsey. Talent was an issue on offense for sure - especially on the OL and maybe at WR. But if you give Dorsey a pass on talent, why not Frazier? It seems like he was handicapped from the lack of talent as well - due to injury. He had to scheme around a secondary that was missing 3/4 of the starters for most of the year. Sometimes all 4 starters. It wasn’t a huge issue since they could get pressure with 4. Once Miller went down he had to revamp how he called defense. I think Frazier needs to change some things on the defense but his track record of finishing in the Top 10 defensively is impressive.
  17. If you listen to the interview, he never claimed the offense was perfect but said he thinks Dorsey is going to figure out what the issues were and that making big changes in season is tough
  18. I think challenging a penalty will be a disaster only because there’s less obvious subjective fouls like holding which occurs frequently if not on every play. Are we now going to debate whether a hold was severe enough to constitute a penalty? Ugh I think what most sports fans want is consistency - especially with the judgement calls like Holding, PI, Roughing etc. The stuff with the catch is beyond laughable. We’ve seen plays like Poyer’s INT called incomplete on replay then saw Smith’s catch rules complete in the NFCCG. IMO that’s the biggest issue. Of course, there’s always going to be some degree of variance. It is impossible to be 100% perfect. But it has to be better than what we saw this weekend. I do think the NFL needs to hire f/t officials. Only way to get better at this.
  19. I am hoping a better OL and at least 1 new WR solves a lot of the issues we saw this year.
  20. This is a given. I see Beane’s problems as two-fold. 1. Likely with the influence of McDermott, the team has placed an emphasis on drafting defensive players highly rather than offensive ones. 2. The defensive players drafted, have not been difference makers. Best example is at DE. The Bills spend 3 premium picks on the position and still needed to sign a player like Von Miller because they weren’t good enough. Same thing could happen with Ed Oliver. This draft is going to be HUGE for the Bills. Not only does Beane need to hit on his picks better, McDermott can’t afford to have rookies inactive or not playing on game day. Need players who can compete on day 1
  21. https://www.newyorkupstate.com/buffalo-bills/2023/02/former-bills-tight-end-tells-fans-to-get-off-ken-dorsey-the-bills-are-going-to-be-terrifying-next-year.html Former Bills TE Lee Smith wants you to give Ken Dorsey a break! He spoke with Matt Parrino and Ryan Talbot of the Bills SHOUT podcast to discuss some of the fan criticism. Before you trash Lee…he was also complimentary of the fan base and he does think great things are on the horizon next year. Here’s what he said: “Now we’re bitching about 13-win seasons, so it’s like give me a break,” Smith said on the show. “I’m anti-fan sometimes. I watched Josh Allen get booed off the field when I first came back (in 2019). So it’s like give me a break. Stay on your couch and worry about how you make a living and not about Ken Dorsey. He’s a really good coach. He’s a really good man.” “Ken Dorsey, Josh Allen the combination of those two dudes man - just take a deep breath, relax,” Smith said. “Obviously Daboll was really, really good. Dorse will fix (it). It’s his first year being a coordinator man. Go back to Brian Daboll’s first year being a coordinator. I’m not sure if it was great or bad or anywhere in between - I wasn’t with Dabes his first year as a coordinator but give (Dorsey) a break. Nobody wants to fix those little inefficiencies more than Ken Dorsey does. Let him attack this offseason.” “Watch what Dorse and Josh do next year together. It’s gonna be scary guys,” Smith said. “I’m just telling y’all, I’m telling y’all right now the Buffalo Bills are going to be terrifying next year with the rejuvenation and the healing that hopefully takes place this offseason. Just from this crazy tragic eight months.” Let’s hope that Lee Smith is right! I have my reservations about him as OC.
  22. The whole Fangio hire was a great idea on paper. Why not bring in another defensive mind for a few weeks - especially one with his experience/success. Then you realize that he has never beaten Kansas City and more times that not, was schooled by both Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes. It happened again in the SB. Not a bad move by Philly…it probably didn’t hurt..:not sure how much it helped though
