  1. Anyone who tries to judge a draft class less than 3 full seasons under their belt probably has an agenda. Spencer Brown looked pretty bad after his first season. Rousseau didn't look like anything special after one season. We all thought Allen would take a huge step forward in year 2 but it definitely wasn't a sure thing. Terrel Bernard looked lost his first season. Shakir could barely get on the field due to (reported) problems remembering the playbook his first season. I don't know how you can confidently judge any NFL draft pick after a single season, especially given how the Bills loved to draft developmental guys far from their ceiling.
  2. I'm going to go out on a limb and say they tried to but got outbid by the Patriots. I don't think Hollins is worth 4-5 million a year.
  3. I got to think the parade of injuries through camp have got to be a factor in resting all of the starters. Maybe he saw how aggressive the Bears were in practice and thought "yeah not gonna risk that". I'm not particularly concerned at the Bills' performance last night, but as a fan it sucks to watch your team look like hot dogwater out there. I think the Bears and Ben Johnson came in with something to prove and needed to get Chicago hyped up. It's almost like they had completely different ideas of what they wanted to get out of a preseason game.
  4. Think he's going to get some snaps at QB? That's the kind of leadership they like in Cleveland, and lord knows they need another horse in that race.
  5. Don't ask questions you don't want answers to...
  6. "Walter Cherepinsky of WalterFootball" - 🙄 Come on now. I've never heard of this guy. Looking him up, he seems to be a fantasy football guy, and not an analyst. He also apparently said that women shouldn't be allowed to vote. Sounds like a guy who's really got it all figured out.
  7. Isn't it 35.7 guaranteed over 5 years? His salary this year has to be factored into the equation. It's also the 3rd highest guaranteed money for a RB in the last 5 years. I think the contract is paying him what he's worth given the market. A team friendly deal with be under that, but that's just my opinion. To be clear, I'm happy about the signing.
  8. It seems like a fair deal on face value for both sides, and Cook gets a bit more guaranteed money to hang his hat on. It's not "team friendly" but it isn't outrageous at all. Signing a player is always a value proposition. Cook has very few snaps on his body compared to similar RBs going into a 2nd contract, and he's excellent at maximizing his opportunities at the position. I'm surprised anyone is actually upset with the signing. "Meh" I understand, but being mad that we retained a speedster with a unique ability to run between the tackles very efficiently is wild.
  9. As a Bills fan I’m glad that Hard Knocks is showing that the Bills are basically drama-free. As a TV watcher it’s a little dull, but still enjoyable. I’d like a little bit more of the behind the curtain stuff though.
  10. It would be so in line with Brandon Beane and the Bills org to drop the new contract at 8:30 tonight, taking all the wind out of the sails for the hard knocks episode that'll undoubtedly feature the holdout as a story line.
  11. There are lots of teams with great/elite QBs who don't get to the superbowl every year. Only one team has gone to a SB and lost four times in a row. It's unquestionably a bigger "failure". I don't really think either are failures though.
  12. You'd think if Tre was as bad as a lot are saying that one of the other DBs would be able to beat him for the CB2 position. Anyways, staying true to the thread... Arrow up: - Deone Walker: This massive hunk of human can move. I see a ton of potential there. - Palmer: Looked decent, was getting open. Arrow down: - Davidson: If you're going to be a pass catching TE and have that be your best quality then you need to catch the ball. Seems pretty straightforward, he had the dropsies.
  13. I don't count the NE rivalry during the drought because it was so one sided that I seriously doubt anyone in NE was thinking about us at all. I agree with everything you said but I don't think it's a rivalry, you need it to go both ways.
  14. If you're young enough to not remember the 90s Bills you can probably say that the Bills don't have a true rival in the division, but for me it will always be the Dolphins. I effing hate the phins.
  15. Two is fair. You might argue the divisional game against the Chiefs was winnable if Diggs gets that big catch but honestly the defense was such trash that who knows if it would have mattered. The only constant in all of those games is that Allen has been great to phenomenal.
  16. The only way he loses his job in the immediate future (2ish seasons) is if he and Allen have some kind of major falling out. I can't see any other realistic situation where he's replaced. Maybe if he went on another 9/11 tirade in the middle of a press conference or something. I don't even really love McD as a coach but I don't Pegula doing anything bold.
  17. If Coleman becomes Tee Higgins (minus the injuries) I think the majority of us would be very satisfied with the pick.
  18. Anything we can do to distract Terry from hockey operations is a good thing.
  19. I loved it, but honestly if I was a fan of another team I'd probably find it a bit boring. I liked the storylines they focused on, especially Tre (but no surprise there). Excited to see the rest of the series.
  20. I agree with you. The coaches love him.
  21. I really like Parrino and his reporting but he gets way too high on random guys at the bottom of the depth chart. He's also Cam Lewis' number one fan, I'm ready to move on but I've said that for like 3 years.
  22. 16 TDs without playing 3rd downs and 1000 yards is pretty high up there. Maybe you don't want to call it Elite but a Devin Singletary-type player isn't putting up those numbers with the same amount of snaps.
  23. I think it's possible Cook could get 15 million on the open market, but it's contingent on how this season goes for him. He has one season of elite production. Cook is probably a top 10 RB in the league, but he needs to show it can be consistent. If he desperately wants the contract before the season starts, he probably needs to make concessions. I can't say what I'd do in that situation because 10-15 million dollars is just an unfathomable amount of money to me, but having 12-13 million guaranteed moving forward would sound pretty appealing being an undersized RB in the league. An injury this season could derail his chances of getting any high end contract.
  24. I have to believe Tyler Brass is just Tyler Bass with a fake mustache on.
  25. "Shout! With Matt Parrino and Ryan Talbot" is pretty decent and Parrino is actually there with the press/media so it's a little better than some of the podcasts with 3rd hand info.
