  1. Nobody cares. Refreshing to hear someone who doesn't buy into media group think. Can he catch the ball? Can he catch the ball for the Bills? That's what's important.
  2. I'll give Beane points for doing his job to find cap room. Not sure that I'm overly excited by any of the people he signed. They help and they prevent glaring holes (+), but none are really "wow" players. I won't accept signing one free agent "not a power player" guard as significantly improving the OL nor do I consider another diminutive WR the answer to improving the WR corps. They are at least on the younger side which is good. Beane needs to be above average in the draft. Round 1-3 picks need to get on the field and contribute. They need to be archetypal players and not in some "less than 10%" metric for size, RAS, etc. Don't try to evolve the position faster than the game only to have it come back on you.
  3. If that's the plan, it's yet one more reason why Jones is so important - not to mention a Jones clone for backup.
  4. McGovern, but at best I'm happy, rather than excited to have him. "Not a power player", "Won't move people" I'll take his pass pro skills but I want better.
  5. I did not expect this. I figured the lure of sunny beaches and pressure from his wife would be too much. Poyer, Milano, and Jones give strength at every level.
  6. Is 2023 THE absolute year we go all in with no other options to compliment Diggs? If not (as in we believe in an extended Superbowl window), then let Diggs and maybe Beasley be our older veterans while we use our draft capital to stock the youth pipeline.
  7. In a multi-team trade, I acquire both Christian Wilkins' and Jeudy so I can claim Punch and Jeudy.
  8. Cover 1 seemed to like his pass blocking. You're spot on IMO in that the Bills simply don't insist on premier run blocking due to who they are. Average pass blocking at an affordable price - that's their way. That doesn't mean that I don't want a more dominating and complete guard. Now I'm wondering if they take an interior O lineman with an early pick or if they're done?
  9. That would make versatility a good thing. Have to plan for losing Morse - too many shots to the head.
  10. It's a good start. Would like for once the Bills to prioritize dominance over versatility on the OL. Was 2009 Incognito the last time we had dominance at guard?
  11. If we're going to overpay a bit, I'd prefer it be for offense. What does a defense have to do anymore? Get a couple turnovers and prevent 2-3 drives from scoring. If you can do that without paying your two starting LB's over $25 million combined, then don't. Congrats to Tremain though for being a gentleman here and representing both himself and the Bills with class.
  12. If there isn't value at 27, I'd rather we trade back than trade up.
  13. The Bills will avoid a rookie safety tandem IMO.
  14. Worrying about "what if" Ed becomes great if he leaves Buffalo is a paralyzing thought. Unless he's worth 5th year option money I'd move him. So, I'm thinking this, "any atom or group of atoms that bears one or more positive or negative electrical charges".
  15. This is why I'm perplexed we don't talk more seriously about the Bills center position as if one can just assume Mitch has it taken care of. 6 concussions in 8 years. One more and we look a bit like the Dolphins rolling out Tua yet one more time.
  16. Agree. I would add that the likelihood of Morse going down for an extended period is high so it's really about starter level replacements for both the guards and center.
  17. Iff: he is not identified as one of the core players that you MUST have to win a Super Bowl, and his projected performance is not expected to meet his market value, and you can get a draft pick that allows you to get a player of the same value as a DT who doesn't get to the QB, is good against the run, but is otherwise undersized, then Yes. Why might this not happen? Beane/McDermott's loyalty to "their" players.
  18. ......and by then, good chance he doesn't justify tag money. The time to fill the WR pipeline is now.
  19. I don't think the Bills would use him heavily. I would neither pay the $16 million for a year nor give draft picks.
  20. My guess: His brother gets in his head. Talks about the "scene" in Dallas. The (unbearably hot and humid) weather. Clubs. etc.
  21. I could accept a D player if rounds 2-4 were OL and WR and there was not the value at 27. Question to me is, is LB a position we want to have cost controlled for 5 years?
  22. It's not about Frazier not being an above average DC, it's about what happens in those franchise steering defining moments. Interesting point about underperforming D linemen. I've assumed that Epenesa, Boogie, and Oliver are exactly what we see, but perhaps there is a bit more that a different DC and line coach can "Granato" out of them. Sal/WGR feel McDermott will be calling the D next year on game day. I'm fine with that. We'll see if McDermott can adapt better to individual teams and plays. Will McDermott be quicker to implement Milano to blitz the gap or move up coverage from 10 yards back when the opponent only needs 6 yards for a 1st down? Its' those kinds of things I'll watch. Frazier set a pretty high bar for regular season.
