  1. GB is one of the worst run franchises in the NFL, they have squandered back to back HOF QBs by refusing to get decent coaching and weapons for their QBs. They are the Browns with luck drafting QBs. The OP is sort of right IMO, if you take Love, the MOST you give him is one year, trade Rodgers when he will bring you back a nice package of picks to surround your new QB with talent and have 4-5 years of top young talent playing on Rookie deals, see Cinci as an example of what can happen. They were bad enough to get #1 overall then got lucky enough to be back at 4 the next year, they are awesome because of it. The Pack screwed themselves, they’ll get next to nothing for Rodgers now and they have no idea what Love will actually be, if he’s great, they turn around and have to hand him the same money Rodgers was getting.
  2. Yep, needs a perfect scenario to show up, the exact type of player you don’t pay.
  3. Injuries happen, he has looked good when healthy, a borderline #1 but top flight #2, I think they got a relative bargain for the risk of seeing if he’s back to form.
  4. Got to make more and keep more of it, just not going to have a shot at winning, pretty clearly a money grab. Can’t blame him at this point in his career.
  5. Reasonable deal considering what WRs have been going for.
  6. Wouldn’t be a bad veteran slot option, he has great hands, just have to wonder if he has at speed left.
  7. Pacheco 2.0? Don’t know where’s he’s projected, but looks like an animal.
  8. Nah, if Diggs really wants out and you could pull off a massive trade like that, I’d take it.
  9. Beane sleeping at the wheel again, could have given them Allen and 27 to go up and get a cheaper alternative at QB, never going to solve this cap situation without a reset.
  10. As long as they go with the best defense is a great offense philosophy, then get after improving our defense!
  11. Lol, I gotta give it to Jones, it’s takes REAL talent to get 40M a year for an average of less than 1TD per game for 3 consecutive seasons. Or maybe his agent is that good, whatever.
  12. send them the whole gang, they can take Diggs too for their entire draft.
  13. I’m a fan of Chark, but the money has to be right. Predictions on what OBJ actually lands for a contract? I’m thinking maybe MAYBE 14 a year for 3 years and ~20M in guaranteed money. He’s older and injured, not sure I’d be throwing everything I got at him. D-Hop, I’m in.
  14. 2nd round last year on a guy he no more than drafted and said wasn’t a starter. That’s a high pick no matter how you want to shake it. He’s drafted a RB in the first 3 rounds in 3 out of the 4 years he’s been here. That’s chasing something. Not only that but he’s signed and traded for them too.
  15. Nailed it, the problem Settle had was availability, he flashed a bit when he played, which was very little. Jones was very good when healthy and not too bad when he was dinged up, but you got about what you expected there and I agree, over paid to get him. There should have been zero expectations for Quess and Saffold looked washed in 21, so it was a prayer he would be worth something in 22 and it wasn’t answered. It was not a good year for the Beanery over all.
  16. Nothing against the guy, but I feel you should spend 1st round picks on positions that cost a fortune, RB is not that.
  17. You absolutely trade him IF you can find a taker. I said it when they did it, wasted 5th year option, should not do it. Here we are, you have to pay a guy 25-50% more than market value and can’t o anything but offer to pay him more to make it better.
  18. Feel like we missed the boat on that, even as a one year rental, that’s a solid player they could have had for a 6th.
  19. It would not require that, his signing bonus wasn’t huge and the guaranteed money would follow the contract to the next team in a trade scenario, he’s very traceable from the Bills perspective. The dead cap number and the trade number are not the same.
  20. If he won’t play for 4x that much, why on earth would he risk injury for 10m? If he had an agent, he would have signed right after JA and been making bank for 2 years, he’s an idiot
  21. it only works if you have a guy in real Demand and if you do, you probably aren’t trading him while you hold the rights to them for less than the highest paid at their position, soooo yeah, tag and trade is HIGHLY unlikely.
  22. They will be on similar odds w the Bills if the bring in Rodgers, love it or hate it, it’s going to happen.
  23. He would make them a legit favorite to win the SB, not saying they actually will, but it will massively move the Vegas needle. The Jets could make it happen with a restructure, make it signing bonus money and add years to the deal, give him a Brady special, 4 year deal 100M signing bonus, vet min for salary this year, jump it to 10M next season, 2 voidable years on the end, bam, flexibility, he gets essentially a 56M/year salary. Rinse and repeat if it’s working or sail off into the sunset a VERY rich man.
  24. Sort of. The player may have to make concessions to make it work. I might be missing details, but I believe it technically COULD be done this year on a trade scenario. We would be on the hook for half of his signing bonus we have last year, so roughly 10.5M, which could be spread out with a post June 1 designation, and bring it down to 7M next year and this year. The guaranteed salary would follow the contract so it’s actually not THAT bad to trade him, but to cut him would be impossible. The Cowboys would have to take his guaranteed money as part of the deal and realistically, they are going to have to make the deal before the 21st if they are going to because his option must be exercised between the 15th-21st, which is 16M more guaranteed. The big thing is, do the Cowboys actually want him? Would they give up a 1st + for him? It’s all well and good to want to play w your brother, but reality may be much different.
  25. I agree on all fronts. The only point I might counter is, who would make a bigger difference on the team, Oliver or Henry, both are paid basically the same and both will likely be gone after the year so it’s kind of a push in that respect.
