Vikings Chad Greenway takes shot at Leslie Frazier defense
DCofNC replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall
Time will tell, I saw nothing in pre-season that looked remotely different and the corner they drafted who plays best in man coverage, is again, getting shoved down the depth chart. I hope there’s something more aggressive coming. -

At least Watson is still young enough to have a shot at recovering a decent career on field, Russ is completely washed.

All-Pro DT Chris Jones not at Chiefs Mandatory Minicamp
DCofNC replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Bills don’t have anyone of value under contract at DT next year, I’ll send the Chiefs our 1 and their choice of S for him, right now. -
At this point, I’d probably be willing to play Webb over Wilson. In all seriousness though, the lesser talented guys have to learn the fine points of the game more to have any shot, so he may be an absolute wealth of knowledge.

The contracts Jerrah keeps throwing out to guys is killing this league. Now signing his RT to a 5 year, 86M+ deal, with 50M guaranteed. He continues to go over the top, for guys that are no where near the top of the league, what will he pay Parsons? The first 300M LB? The guy needs to be put out to pasture.

Gabe Davis is a 2023 Captain...let the board erupt!
DCofNC replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall
He works hard, tries hard, and doesn’t act like a B word, so of the WRs, he makes sense. That said, being a captain doesn’t mean you are good. -
Hope he stole their playbook too.

In on this: 1) Kincaid- marginal rookie year, good by rookie TE standards, 60 catches, 6TDs, 550 yards. By year 3, breaks 1k, never going to be an elite blocker, but becomes a poor man’s Kelce. 2) Torrence - day one starter, remains an above average, not star level guard, long career barring injury, could be a pro-bowl player with some refinement and a decent T beside him. 3) Williams - this one I struggle with, I believe he will become a good player, BUT I also believe the league is about to shift and the power game will make a big come back, teams have gone smaller and faster, the obvious weakness is to run them over… wish the Bills would get on this train sooner than later. So, while I believe he can be a good LB, I question if he will ever have a spot on this roster, to that end, I say, good back-up, ST stand out that Bills fans want to see more of, when he gets out there, it won’t be everything they hoped for, think Gabe Northern. 4) Shorter - gone in a year 7) Broeker - might kick around the bottom of the roster of a few teams for a few years. 7) Austin - interesting guy to me, I think he finds a solid back up role somewhere around the league, kind of a Levi Wallace type.

Bills lose Anderson, Austin and Broeker to claims.

The Dolphins have talent at the top end of the roster, where it matters. The Bills are deep, as in, all of their guys look the same. -
Guy is a JAG, last year it was McKenzie who was jacked and going to break out, stole him for 2.4M or whatever it was, turns out he’s still a nobody as a WR. It’s like Groundhog Day around here, “oh look, a small guy that’s fast, we got Tyreek Hill!” …. 6 weeks in, “I knew Beane needed to get a real WR in here, no more smurfs!”

Without a major over haul, this is the last year of this current iteration’s window. Diggs is going to want out after this year and it’s doable, Davis SHOULD be gone, nearly the entire D is ready to be replaced. Personally, I think without injuries to other AFC contenders and an insane amount of luck, this current team is done. There’s just not enough playmakers on the team. Allen and Diggs can’t do it all. There’s hope for Kincaid, but I’m not counting the chickens. Allen will carry the team for as long as he stays healthy, but ‘21 was the best shot of a SB with this squad and they blew it.
-
And they made moves to get impact players, what have the Bills done to get any?
-
I’m very interested, thought he would be a target in FA, would love to see him on the way to Buffalo ASAP.
-
Because you are never REALLY contenders. They haven’t even made the AFC Championship game.
-
Ehh, I agree in principle on the FA classes sucking, but I would actually consider Brown and especially Beasley as hits. They produced while they were here and he parted with them at the right time. Bringing them back was a desperation move because of the garbage they had at WR in general though.
-
If you really believe a COACH who was signed a month ahead of the draft did all that scouting and found hidden gems, then played the draft board and got them, then you must also believe it was he who missed on Maholmes, so he’s not very good at his big lifting.
-
This FO can take credit for Knox (who they grossly overpaid) and Davis, who is only a #2 because they refuse to get a real starter for Josh because he continues to cover the flaws of the team.
-
There’s the thing, if you took the numbers off the RBs, there isn’t one on this team that looks any different than the others. Cook is marginally faster and smooth in routes, so I’m semi-optimistic that one might work out, but still not worth a 2nd rounder when the Colts can’t get more than that for an absolute stud (yes I know the contract is the problem, but the fact nobody wants to pay him, speaks volumes of the lack of value) You got all the others off the street. Personally, I liked Evan’s coming out and was excited when he signed, but I think he just lacks the vision to be anything more than a typical JAG.
-
Floyd had better be worth it. 9M squandered at a position so deep you give guys away. Meanwhile we have one starting WR.
-
On a trash team, behind a garbage line, without practice time. How’s Moss doing? How would the extra salary cap be helpful? How about we stop wasting picks on RBs that can be matched by UDFA or 7th rounders? I guess if you plan to use second round picks on DEs to give to your buddies team 2 years later as a backup and 3rd round picks on guys who can’t even contribute on STs, Beane’s plan is killing it. How is it that the Bengals completely mopped the Bills on both sides of the ball and the only player you would pick on the Bills roster over theirs would be QB, which is still debatable?
-
Morse being one Concussion away from retired and having missed time here because of them made it a real question mark. Worst case, you could have off loaded a bloated contract for a middle of the road, aging player.
-
So whose fault is it? It’s all the coaches? MCD couldn’t stop the call? Or what?
-
Don’t forget keeping the trash we had at RB, to cut Blackshear who went on to perform just as well in the regular season as he did here in preseason, only to ditch the trash after the fact and need a replacement.

TJ is solid, he’s an average starter. Davis is a JAG, he’s a #3 (at best), getting #2 volume due to the offense I’ve scheme, you could plug in virtually anyone in his slot and get the same production. He’s got one of the highest drop percentages in the league and improved his YPG ~15 yards after moving up to the default #2. Benford Jackson and Hamlin all only got on the field due to injuries and another whiff on the 1st round pick. Keep trying though. I’m fine that he’s got decent depth players, that’s great, now go find one impact player outside of Allen.
