  1. He’s not going to be sitting if he’s healthy, he’s going to be on the field as the #2 option.
  2. To the point of the OP, I’m going for OBJ all day, he’s a player at a position of absolutely zero depth. IDGAF what the homers think, beyond the starters, we don’t have a single player on the outside that’s anything more than a replacement level player. Davis has never been more than a mediocre #2, I know there are high hopes/expectations, but he’s never done it. So the reality is it’s Diggs and a bunch of Jags, until Davis proves he’s more than that. Even so, if Diggs goes down, there’s nobody who’s even remotely capable of making up for that. To have the opportunity to put OBJ out there with Diggs and Davis would be awesome, to know if somebody gets hurt, you have a REAL second option is priceless to a team w Championship aspirations.
  3. This is not the last year of his deal, he’s signed through 2026, it’s probably not even the last year he will see on this deal, it would be 18M in dead cap to cut/trade him next season too. There’s no way the Bills would take on his deal, I’m not sure anybody would honestly.
  4. I want to see Hill get his @$$ dropped a number of times, guy needs to be shut up.
  5. I see your Homerism will not be reasoned with, good day, Go Bills!
  6. The minimum pay for being on the active roster is HUGE in comparison to practice squad, most players will take it. Gotta love it. McClappy makes me want to McSlappy him for personnel choices at times. RB is one he sure hasn’t gotten right yet. None of which matters when you can’t get on the field because you can’t block and the fact he doesn’t offer anything from a running perspective means they basically drafted a slot WR who lines up funny. Hope I’m wrong, but based on the current track record of RBs in the McBeane era, I’m betting I’m not.
  7. Lol, if the Bills had Fitz, Josh wouldn’t have started, so that comparison is also useless. JA had no business playing his rookie year and it was obvious. What we got to see is what would have happened if Maholmes played his rookie year AND you took away the whole team in front of him 😂
  8. How would you classify the LBs “looking good” based on the fact they haven’t been on the field outside of garbage time? CB is easily the thinnest position on the roster, you can’t see how we could use another top talent there? How much time does Cook need to learn? He couldn’t start at Georgia, sitting behind a back that’s barely hanging on to a roster spot in the NFL. Yeah, he’s got a couple of nice traits, but he’s never done anything with them. He’s a pass catching back, that offers zero versatility, no blocking and is useless between the tackles, sounds like a hell of a 2nd round pick. I know you think you got Dalvin Cook, but you got Cooper Manning and don’t recognize it yet. That would be epic, 99.9% not happening, but damn.
  9. At this point, there’s not even a borderline starter on the roster outside of Motor. Have to do something.
  10. Apparently you missed the part where TN pulled most of their key guys too. That became the 4th preseason game. He also looked terrible between the tackles yet again.
  11. He had a lot of success in College from the inside and got a sack from there this week, I would be surprised if they don’t try it more. I believe you probably have to throw Boogie or Lawson beside him to be a heavy edge, to avoid an easy gain on the ground as he flies upfield, but maybe not. In a NASCAR package, him, Phillips, Boogie and Von would be interesting. Oliver would be fine in place of Phillips, but I think Phillips is actually better as a rusher. Seems reasonable, Hyde and Jackson will be the biggest impact, would be nice to have them both back IF they are healthy. Hyde is special, I’d really like to see him back at minimum.
  12. I like the kid, would have liked to see him actually unseat Moss, but the reality is, he would be on the roster we’re it not for Cook being a 2nd round pick. It’s clear to see who performed better, but the Cook miss-draft cost Blackshear his spot. It would be cool if there was ever a decision made based on performance, not draft/salary implications. Beane has done a hell of a job building a really good roster. That is first and foremost, but McBean have made some real bad calls. Teller got the boot bc of Ford being a 2nd round pick, turned into an All-pro, the Bills favored draft status and veteran incompetence over talent. Now you see the same thing coming back again, Howard going off for 2 TDs after a week in the Texans system, meanwhile, Sweeney is inactive. I am happy Morris made the roster, but Sweeney? Really? Now look at Cook and Moss taking up not one but TWO game day spots because the FO can’t identify a decent RB in the draft to save their lives. 2 third round picks, and a second round pick spent over 4 years to have ONE, slightly better than replacement level RB on the roster.. I guess when you can’t sign a marginal $3M pass catching back, you should just draft a lesser one in the second round. Makes sense. They could have spent that second round pick this year on an impactful position like CB or LB, but here we are with a RB that can’t get on the field, when there are guys on the street that would be an upgrade to RB 2. I love where the team is, but the wasted early round picks bother me. There have been many opportunities to make this team better than they are and Beane simply outsmarted himself. He seems to fall in love with a player/idea of a role, for some reason and can’t move off that. It’s probably his only glaring flaw, thank God he was locked in on getting JA, I guess we will never know if it was really the case that he wanted JA or one of the others and had to settle, but he moved up to get that QB and absolutely killed it. Having JA will hide a lot of flaws, hopefully we will find a real RB eventually. It’s going to be ugly once Motor leaves, he’s not great, but the drop off means we are going to have to do something.
  13. 100%, get out of shot gun. In fairness, they have been up against 2 of the very best in the game at DT the first 2 weeks, so maybe they don’t have confidence they can win THAT battle. Probably a good call, I don’t think out OL could move either of those guys one on one. Maybe it’s more to do with understanding the match up and looking for ways to keep Josh from getting killed early in the year.
  14. he probably won’t see him until the second half when the Bills are up 28 and the starters are resting, but he’ll see him.
  15. Depends if they can keep feeding him or teams turn to just trying to shut him down.. I’d guess there will be a few teams who will try to make somebody else beat them the way the Chefs did. If that happens, his numbers will dwindle. A lot of teams won’t be able to do it and that quick flip outside they used last game should be there, so I’m going to say 111 catches 1327 yards 12 TDs
  16. As long as Allen is here and healthy, they will have a shot to compete. Look at all the great QBs, Brady, Manning, Breese, Rodgers, Maholmes.. you have one, you have a shot.
  17. Honestly, I think it’s 3, Diggs has had such an impact on the WRs it’s nuts. I see where you are coming from and I do agree Allen elevates the entire O. I still recall the massive jump from the WRs we saw once Diggs entered the room.
  18. Yeah, their Front 7 is definitely a good one. If they can get their O going, they will not be fun to deal with later in the year. I found the strategy of the Bills very interesting last night, completely selling out to stop the run in the first series, and then backing right off from there on out. I wonder if it wasn’t a “don’t let Henry get going and we will deal w Tannehill from there” type of mind game. I was pleasantly surprised to see the Bills limit them from there. They really managed to keep Henry from being a factor even in the Base D without some of the better players on the field. That was impressive, if they can control the run like that all year, the cover 2 with good pressure up front will make things tough for teams all year.
  19. I agree we have some inside WRs, but aside from Diggs and Davis, there’s nobody that’s more than replacement level outside and that’s making the assumption that Davis is more than he has produced thus far in his career. The Titans are a solid team, I think they are kinda like catching KC early in the year last season. They are obviously not where they want to be yet.
  20. So happy to hear he’s not seriously injured. Prayers for a speedy recovery and return. Selfishly, I hope he gets back on the field quickly. He has been playing very well, it’s a loss to the team to not have him. It’s an opening for other guys to take his role, which would doubly suck for him, so I hope he is able to jump back in quickly. I would imagine, as soon as there is no swelling/inflammation to the spinal cord, which maybe there isn’t any for all we know, he would be released to play as pain allows. No doubt he’s going to be sore for a while and the position requires you to be able to cleanly snap your head around, so at a minimum I would expect him to miss this week. I certainly would not be shocked to see him out for a while though. Big thing is, he’s generally ok, that was scary looking.
  21. Nailed it. Adding on, this ONE WR injury points out what a lot of us have been saying, the illusion of WR depth all off season was/is a joke, there is none. It’s Diggs and a bunch of nobodies. Kumero exceeded my expectations, good game. I stand by my original statement of Cook being a wasted 2nd round pick, he may be fine, but it was a bad pick for value, need and just the flat out obvious, the scouts on this team don’t know what a RB looks like. Really good game overall. Was really happy to see them stop selling out on the run after the first series and magically they were good all night. There have been times when we needed them and were out bc of stupid usage. You don’t know when wasting one will cost you a game.
  22. I suspect that’s about the same as saying Whaley was the GM, but Buddy Nix was still in the building. Doesn’t really matter, but either way, they are hurting.
