Bad assessment. There is no WR that has Beasley's skill set in the slot. He is a lock. Kroft is overpaid but he should be a solid contributor. No reason to trade him or cut him. There are no other good options for TE #2.

Herbert is overated. Put up tons of stats against easy competition in non-conferemce games. Wasn't that good against better competition. If TT stays healthy, the Chargers can win 8 or more games and be in WC hunt. I had then finishing second in AFC West prior to James injury. My guess is the Raiders, Chargers, and Broncos will all finish with 7 to 9 wins.

Pats releasing Mohammed Sanu

I have been amazed by the value Beane had gotten for players that were possible cuts. That said, I think the only guy with trade value is Andre Roberts for his return ability. -
I'm more apprehensive but just as engagesd and enthusiastic as I have been in past years. This team is loaded on paper. But there are serious question marks about Allen, the pass rush, the right side of the o-line, and McD game day decisions. Every team has question marks going into a season. Next year I just want to be able to say Allen is the future and he is a feanchise QB. That is all that matters in 2020. The racism is strong in this one....

Because the fullback position is not needed in 2020. If they need a lead blocker then just line up a TE. They would be far better off keeping an extra WR or a fourth TE than keeping a FB. yup, much cheaper than a useless FB, a fourth RB and a linebacker that can't play linebacker. I stand by my post at least one if not two of thise three will be gone

The Andre Smith trade means at least one special teamer is getting cut. Hopefully it is DiMarco and they keep 6 WR and no fullback. Other possibilities are Taiwan Jones or Matakevich. Both players will never see the field on offense or see defense. One of these three and maybe 2 of 3 are getting cut.

Singletary Moss touches
Ethan in Cleveland replied to thunderingsquid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why was it a foregone conclusion? McD's mantra is he plays the best players. As long as Moss knows the plays and can pass protect, I suspect McD and Daboll will go with the hot hand. As for passing more, I would buy that. In general the left side of the line and Morse are much better pass blockers than road graders. Nobody knows how the right side will play out. Knox and Kroft are barely capable blockers but can be very good in the pass game. I think a few of the designed runs Allen got last year will go to the backs and Daboll will dial up a few more deep shots a game. -
Zach Cunningham signs extension with Houston

If that is the market then you let him walk. Tag him for a year if you want to give another off-season to find his replacmemt. Small guys like him fade fast. Don't commit long term money to him. The only way to keep Edmunds, Milano, and White is if Allen is a bust. If that is the case then Beane and McD will have bigger issues to deal with. -
More early season injuries...or less???
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Bakin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well for certain there won’t be any guys lost in meaningless preseason games. Hamstrings seem like a prime candidate to go up as no matter how hard they practice, its just not the same as game day speed. -
Figuring out the OL depth chart
Ethan in Cleveland replied to First Round Bust's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I suspect they have a plan for back center. They were quick to get rid of Long even after knowing Feliciano was out. Has Bates lined up at center? I read he is capable of playing all 5 spots, just none of them that well. Any word on the UW UDFA tackle with injury history ? -
I’m seeing 12+ wins for this team...

Well Browns and Texans games from last year come to mind. 10-6 and they win the division but do not get a bye -
Fitzmagic vs T-Mobile

Chargers team is talented and has an outside chance at a WC spot. TT is the exact opposite of Rivers. My bet is Chargers have a better w/l record than the Colts. -

Will Beane make a trade before cuts?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to ColoradoBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Backup MLB is still a mess and backup OLB is an unknown. Third TE is still unsettled. Honestly those are the only positions that I think are up for grabs. I don't like the backup QB situation but they aren't going to make a change there. Ideally they make a move to get a veteran MLB and the other 52 are already in camp. -
What a joke. If they fired a guy for saying players listed as backups on the depth chart are rotating with the second unit then shame on them. I could give a rats ass about Chris Brown, but honestly who cares. Do you think there is a competitive disadvantage to saying the Bills rookies are rotating in the second string units? No ***** Sherlock. Everyone knows that. Everyone knows there are only two spots on the the o-line up for grabs and Ford is playing one of them.

You don't get comp picks for cuts. Only for free agents lost.

Lol. I was in my early 20's and remember just fine. Take off the rose colored glasses. He was 1-2 as a starter in 1990 and 1991 with a grand total of 104 pass attempts. In 1992 and 1993 he started no games and attempted a grand total of 40 passes. Hardly clutch during those playoff years. The comeback game he threw for four touchdowns but as I stated before he also threw a pick six. And one of the four TDs should not have counted as Beebe stepped-up of bounds before he caught the ball. The Pittsburgh game he threw for 160 yards. The defense won that game. So yes he was clutch in one game. The rest of his career he was non-descript. And yes delusional fans wanted a career backup to replace a future HOF QB. After leaving Buffalo his QB ratings were 58.7, 68.9, 21.7, and 78.9.
