  1. I think you are both correct. The reps and the preparation have some value. But the value is minimal compared to regular season experience. And I'd argue that practice reps when working on a particular play or skill are far far more important than anything done in pre-season. Nobody would argue pro-bowl reps are of value and the same goes for meaningless preseason games.
  2. What does a 300 yard game in a loss prove? There is zero correlation between 300 yard passing games and wins. Give me 225 yards, no interceptions, and a win.
  3. Maybe a little. There is probably some value of camp and practice but he really will only learn when the games are real and at full speed.
  4. Not even close. Edge rusher is the worst position on the team followed by TE(talent looks good but is very unproven). Line is average and if Ford improves his play the OL can be really solid.
  5. He is a DE in the Bills defense. I'd have no issue moving Nsekhe for him. At 31 he would still be effective and a year younger than Addison(which this board loves). If they made this deal, then you cut Murphy and you have three good edge players in Hughes, Addison, and Ingram with Epenesa learning on the job. I like it. No matter what they do this year, getting younger at DE will be a priority next off-season. Look for another one or two edge players in the first three rounds.
  6. Johnson was a good story and somehow he was able to beat Revis consistently. But that drop in OT against the Steelers was unforgivable. Schobel was a great player and deserves to be on the wall. Moorman does not. Fletcher was overrated. Rare an impact play did he make. Adults can wear jerseys. My point was and the other poster agreed, must be on the team currently or a great player. You can't wear a CJ Spiller jersey in 2019. Team gear is sweathiry or Hoodia with just a logo
  7. McD let him walk and then McD and Beane blew a third round comp pick by keeping a couple of street free agents on the squad. He was enshrined in Canton far faster than Bill Cowher and Jimmy Johnson - guys that actually won SuperBowls. So I think he is plenty overrated by more than just Bills fans.
  8. Marv was an average coach and should not be in the HOF. Just about any other HC wins SuperBowl XXV if they tell Kelly to stop throwing and keep giving Thurman the ball Talley was an average LB and should not be on the Wall of Fame Tasker does not belong in the HOF Reed was a great player but a fringe HOF player. However when they let in Irvin and Monk, Reed should have followed the second year he was eligible. Edmunds would be a first team all-pro Outside LB. I'm not sure he will ever be a great middle linebacker. Star will be missed. White is a great corner but he is not an elite shut down corner. Owning and wearing a Brian Moorman jersey is sad I don't understand fans wearing old player jerseys to games for guys like Owens, Lynch, Moorman, Evans, Spiller, or any other Bill that is not a true great. Spend a few bucks and get a jersey for a current player or where Bills team gear. Once an average player is gone from the Bills donate that thing to Goodwill.
  9. He was on my surprise cut list. I like Levi and Taron as CB # 2 and 3. But I also thought Norman would be a good candidate to transition to backup free safety like other accomplished CBs have done late in their careers.
  10. Dumb. Just let in 20-30% of capacity and play the games. Who would choose what the fake fan reaction would be? If Bills punter shanks one twenty yards is it fake boos or a cheer because the other team didn't return the kick??
  11. Cutting McCoy in favor of Gore was just dumb. McD despite all his talk about competing for positions and playing time made that decision the moment they signed Gore. McCoy was a good teammate and would have been good for Singletary.
  12. 1. Bucs miss playoffs and Brady and Gronk retire 2. Derek Carr is benched by week 8 after a slow start in Vegas 3. Aaron Rodgers has fantastic year and wins MVP 4. Cleveland earns WC spot 5. Cowboys earn #1 NFC playoff seeding but lose in championship game
  13. It's make or break because there is enough talent on this team for a deep playoff run. If the QB is the reason they fail, then they need to find an alternative. If he is adequate but they fail then they need to decide if adequate is good enough out of the QB position. If he is great and they still fail well then we all greatly overestimated the talent on the roster.
  14. I agree on the tag. Before Dawkins was extended I advocated for signing either Dawkins or Milano and tagging the other. Bills have cap space now to add a player like Clowney or roll it over and tag a player like Milano. For one year he will be grossly overpaid but there is no long term issue with the cap by avoiding a 4 year deal.
  15. That's not what I meant. I meant you need draft picks on their initial contract to fill out your team. Once you pay Allen there will be little room left. You can't sign everyone. You need to pick and choose who to let go and where you can draft replacements. Of course Milano on a team friendly deal would be great. But those dollars will add up and limit your options in the future. They got lucky and got a very good player at low cost. Now don't make a mistake and overpay to keep him. At 4-60 you let him walk and get a 3rd round comp pick. Easy choice. Just ask what Belichick would do. No way he pays 60 M for an undersized LB that he can replace in the draft or free agency for 1/5th the price.
  16. The cap is going to go down and they have White, Hyde, Edmunds, and a free agent pass rusher to sign in the future. You let Milano walk and you trust that a player already drafted or a future draft pick can replace him. You need players like Ford, Knox, Epenesa and future draft picks to fill out the roster.
  17. Star loss is bigger than this board realizes. Harrison Phillips was playing ok before injured but that was just in comparison to how bad he looked his rookie year. His draft profile stated he was weak at taking on double teams which isxexaxtly what this defense asks him to do. DT is very hard transition from college to pro so the fact he was getting better in year 2 is encouraging. Any additional bodies to compete at DT makes sense at this point.
  18. Get rid of divisions. I would much rather play every team at least every two years instead of the same teams every year.
  19. I'd be fine with a set rotation of opponents. Im just tired of playing Jets,Dolphins, and Pats twice a year. And it makes no sense to have a 9-7 or worsedivision winner make the playoffs over a 10-6 team that misses out on the wildcard and adding insult to injury host a playoff game. I'm not worried about this year. The season will be canceled at some point.
  20. That would suck. I hate the division format now. The schedule should be random 16 teams every year and top 6 by record make the playoffs. At worst it should be 3 division games and 13 others but still determine playoff teams by record not if they won't their division
  21. Well said! Knox is best TE prospect they have had in twenty years.
  22. This will sound odd but hear me out. Milano has outplayed Edmunds so far. But Edmunds is the more critical piece and more difficult to replace player. My guess is they would have little trouble replacing Milano, maybe even with a player on the roster. However replacing a sideline to sideline dynamic MLB for this offense would be very hard. If Edmunds gets better he is the player that should get paid even if that means Milano walks.
  23. Agree Star, Murphy and Morse were the worst. Hyde is probably best value contract given how well he has played.
  24. Nice job Beane and Dawkins. If these numbers are accurate this is a very reasonable deal for both sides. I've criticized Beane for overspending in FA but this move is spot on. Well done.
