LOL - you are correct about that, Flacco is not the answer to anything at this point. But what is to rectify? Allen got hurt his rookie year just like Wilson did. There is nothing else for the Jets to do. They are in no position to compete. They need full roster turnovers and they simply need to wait for their young QB to develop. Edit - Flacco is the answer for one question. Name a terrible white QB that is given yet another opportunity while Colin Kaepernick sits? Yes he did. And proceeded to have the worst debut in NFL history. An UDFA that spike the ball on every snap would have had a better performance than Peterman did.

Glass houses.... Our current coaching staff did the same thing with Allen/Peterman

Lots of good games this week to pick some teams with losing records. Im thinking Seattle at home against Jax. Eagles and Bears could win too. Picking Cincinnati over the Jets looks enticing too.

Taylor Heinicke TD Ruled No TD! Why?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Never NEVER Give-up's topic in The Stadium Wall
Don't have to be a mind reader. He dove and his knee hit before the ball crossed. Play over. If he dove and the ball crossed before his knee hit its a TD. Nice post -
The reemergence of Gabriel Davis??
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall
Props for him coming back and winning a roster spot. He has 12 career catches so we really have no idea if he has good hands. I haven't noticed his blocking good or bad. If he is as good as you say then just plug and play. I wish him luck but I'd still give Davis more plays. BTW I'd play Sweeney over Kumerow. -
2017 Re-Draft - What would you do?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Let me clarify. Mahommes is on a HOF trajectory. Any other pick at 10 in 2017 even Watson and I dont revisit history. But to deny Mahommes is something special is nuts. Of course the other variable is Andy Reid. -
Zach Wilson knee injury [sprained PCL, miss 2-4 weeks]
Ethan in Cleveland replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
He was outside the pocket. All protections are gone except roughing the passer. The hit wasn’t late just low and hard. More of a frak play with how his leg got caught under him. -

I love Allen but think of all the other picks and players they could have had if they just stayed at 10 in 2017 and taken Mahommes. -
The reemergence of Gabriel Davis??
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree. For a couple of games the 4WR set will be our best offense. Maybe even some two back setsand throw to the running backs. Sweeney has shown nothing and neither has Gilliam. The less they are on the field the better. -
Titans loss best thing for Seeding
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Kingston Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Um no. I would rather have Allen's arm in the wind against Tannyhill popgun arm. Julio played very few outdoor games in the cold. Bills can stop Henry if needed. -
Which realistic trade options should the Bills target?

Lee Smith for a 7th that becomes a conditional 6th if he catches 4 TD -

Beane's Draft Picks: Is Allen His Only Success?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall
Probably need to see 2 more years of producing as he is now to definitively say yes unless he wins the SB this year. Guys do have flash moments and then regress. Derek Anderson and a host of other one year wonders. Almost none of those guys have shown the steady progress Allen has made. So the likelihood he regresses terribly is very low in my mind. A single SB win no matter how the rest of his career would pan out would be considered a success. Hell Ferguson was considered a success because they lost in the playoffs due to his injured ankle.... -
Beane's Draft Picks: Is Allen His Only Success?

The picks they need to get from the mid twenties to 11. That was two number ones (Bills original and the KC pick) and Cordy Glenn to Cinci if I remember correctly -
Beane's Draft Picks: Is Allen His Only Success?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall
There is an article in the Buffalo news if you google it that says it was a total of two players and six picks to get Allen. The link won't upload for some reason. No that is the exact opposite point I am making. I even said his drafts were above average. What I am saying is if he missed on Allen and Allen was a bust he would be out of a job. That of course assumes the team has a losing record and is not a playoff team. You can't trade away multiple players and picks and then miss on the QB. If Oliver is never a superstar, who cares. It's a mild blemish on Beane's record. No one will care if Allen delivers the Bills a SB. Right or wrong McD and Beane's legacy is nearly entirely linked to how Allen plays. -
Week 1: Rams over Bears Week 2: Packers over Lions Week 3: Denver over Jets Week 4: Bills over Texans Week 5 : Dallas over the Giants Week 6: Steelers over Seattle Week 7: Cardinals over Texans - AZ, LA Rams, and SF 49ers are all playing at home and all should win. Hard to choose which team to go with knowing I may need them later.

Beane's Draft Picks: Is Allen His Only Success?

You are forgetting he has given away multiple picks to trade up. If he missed on Allen he would be out of a job right now. -
Beane's Draft Picks: Is Allen His Only Success?

I'm as critical of Beane as anyone. He's not the genius or wizard some on here claim. But to be honest he seems better than your average GM. He has more hits than misses. I can rail on Edmunds and Oliver for not being stars but they have started virtually every game they have been healthy to play. The issue with those tow players is really production hasnt matched draft status. I wanted Dobbins over Epenesa but its still much too early to give up on Epenesa. His mid round cheap selections have been very good. Johnson, Davis, Bass and Knox are big time contributors. Ford is the biggest bust. If he was good enough to play RT they would not have had to retain Williams and they could have used a pick last year on a C/G. He got the QB right so that forgives a multitude of misses. -
Cmon that isn't being smart. It's not like they were facing 4th and inches and chose to go for FGs. Josh missed Sanders and Diggs for TDs. You take the points. That has been the story with McD since year 1. Remember Saints in 2017, they rushed for 298. KC last year also rushed for a ton. Defense always seems to have one really awful game.

I’d be fine if they shopped Ford, Phillips, and Epenesa.

What happened to our red zone O?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bills oline doesn't run block well enough. Bills let Lee Smith go who was an excellent run blocker on the edge. They aren't running Josh enough in the red-zone. They don't have a physically dominant WR that can out jump the defenders. They can still be effective and I think they will. Run Josh more like he did against KC and it will open up the pass. Once he starts running a few QB sweeps the defense will collapse on him and open up guys in the endzone -
A few thoughts about the Titans game, in no particular order
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
You won't see much of a pattern because there are few teams built like Tenn. Gunner mentions this as well. If the play the Tirans again the Bills can beat them by getting ahead early. Had those two first drives been TDs instead of FGs the game may have been very different. Daboll needs to recognize this oline cant pass or run block against great D-lines. He needs to keep an extra blocker in. Bills WRscand Knox will get open if Allen has the time. -
A few thoughts about the Titans game, in no particular order
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agree though I would add missing a wide open Sanders in the corner of the endzone. It was not one of those plays where Allen is looking to the other side of the field. He was rolling that way and chose to throw short to Singletary if I recall instead of Sanders who had beaten his guy by 2 steps -
Not crazy at all. Defense gave up 6 straight scores. There would have been over 3 min on the clock. They could not stop Josh most of the game. Our best chance died on the two yard line.

A few thoughts about the Titans game, in no particular order
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
All this great analysis and for me none of it matters. The Bills are soft. They have been for years and I really don't know why that is. Allen is the toughest guy on the team followed by Diggs and our two safeties. Both lines are soft. The Bills are a finesse team. When they play a bully they get physically beaten. This was not scheme. It was a flat out beating at the point of attack.
