Good write up. Matches what I saw. Effective in coverage (more so in zone than when he was in man) - they have been playing man coverage more than I have seen this season than in past. Curious if others feel that way too. Mahomes rarely challenged the middle and its reasonable to assume that was because of Edmunds. Run defense instincts still seem very poor. Can't shed blockers well. Could be a problem against run heavy teams like Cleveland, Tenn, or Dallas. But as others have pointed out the run defense has not been gashed since the KC regular season game last year. For the record I'm not a Hater nor do I suspect most of the posters on here that offer reasonable criticism. Hope these past two games are the norm moving forward

Had Spielman not gotten injured he could have been higher up in the conversation My top 5 Paup Washington Lofton Spikes Hyde

Well first you need to have a successful play that nets more than 10 yards and the block would have to be at least ten yards downfield. Think how often that actually happens. Pretty rare. Most blocks are within a few feet or behind the LOS. And let's say you score a TD because of an illegal hold 20 yards from the LOS. The score is wiped out.

Every accepted penalty results in a replayed down - except intentional grounding and unsportsmanlike conduct after the whistle.

Agree with your top 4. What about Trevon Diggs? I think LT is the only defensive player to ever win the award. Diggs might get a few votes if he keeps playing as well as he is. Agreed. Dorsey is the OC in waiting. Unless he leaves too, why would you not give it to Dorsey? This of course assumes he is actually helpful in designing/calling the passing game as he is listed. -
I believe they said it was Frank Clark but not sure No it's just the rule. Offensive holding beyond the line of scrimmage is penalized from the spot of the foul. So a hold 15 yards downfield is penalized 10 yards making it 1st and 5 I believe it always has been that way but I could be wrong about that.

It did happen. You can argue was it forcible or not but it happened. Here is the rule: A rushing defender is prohibited from forcibly hitting in the knee area or below a passer who has one or both feet on the ground, even if the initial contact is above the knee. It is not a foul if the defender is blocked (or fouled) into the passer and has no opportunity to avoid him. I think a no-call would have been very appropriate but the refs are trained to protect the QB. Let's hope Allen is never hit low, but if he is let's hope he gets the benefit of the call too.

OPI. Called against Gordon. The hold was by a WR downfield. They mark off the yards from the point of the foul.

Bongo, did you go? What did you think?

This is going to be a tough week. Many favorites are on the road. I'm leaning Tampa over Philadelphia or Cinci over Detroit. I already pick the Packers and Rams. Pittsburgh at home against the Seahawks also looks like a decent choice but neither team is playing well. But Ben likely beats Geno at home. Week 1: Rams over Bears Week 2: Packers over Lions Week 3: Denver over Jets Week 4: Bills over Texans Week 5 : Dallas over the Giants Week 6: ???

Yes indeed his career stats are gaudy! Career 63.6% 8,162 72 21 101.1 He is 400ish passing attempts from being listed on the all-time QB rating chart. If he stays at 101 he would be fifth all-time ahead of Brady, Brees, and Manning. So what evidence do you have he can't throw the ball? -

I thought I read on this board that Jackson wasn't a good throwing QB. 37/43 442 yards and 4 TD. -
You forgot Phillips. He will find it hard to see the field the rest of the way and likely will not be on the team next season. I'd add Epenesa as at least disappointing. He has had one very good game against Miami and otherwise has not been much of a factor this season or last. You also left off Bass who has been great . I guess 6 is too low to be 4ish...lol

A few Thoughts about the Chiefs Game, in no particular order

Good write up. I only disagree with one point, #6. The INT was 100% on Hill. Ball hit his hands and Hyde was still a step away. Most likely if Hill catches it, Hyde makes the tackle and they force a punt. -
NFL is a match-up league. There will plenty more opportunities for Cole in the future. Knox emerging will affect his numbers as much as anything

Exactly they ran a group of Gilliam, Kumerow, and McKenzie several times

Emmanuel Sanders Embracement Thread
Ethan in Cleveland replied to BigDingus's topic in The Stadium Wall
I really liked Smoke and was hoping they would reach agreement on a lower contract number, but Sanders is just flat out better. Really nice move by Beane. -
So were the Bills last year. Both starting corners out and Allen was playing with a shoulder brace. Add the COVID-19 delay nonsense. I think I might go to this game. Never been to Tennessee and I need a few days off from work.

Good post. Agree I though this team could be physically dominated at times. But I think that changed when the fixed the o-line. I think they are now punishing the defense and Moss is running hard. Look at all his yards after contact and how well the lines is finishing blocks. I dont think the D-line is punishing people but they are fresh and quick all game.
-
At the right price yes. But at some point they need to make choices on who gets paid. I think Taron was more important to sign. Also think Diggs needs a pay raise and they should bring back Sanders. Hughes and Addison will probably be let go so there will be some cap savings there. H. Phillips and Ford are probably on their way out too. Who knows what happens with Beasley. They have Davis, Bass, Brown, and Knox on cheap deals. Edmunds will want top 3 LInebacker money if he makes another ProBowl. If Star keeps playing as he has they will bring him back too. Levi might be odd man out. Some team may overpay for him and net the Bills a 4th or 5th round comp pick. Just like they did with Spencer Brown they will need to find a guy each draft that can be a starter somewhere to maintain cap flexibility.

Find one factual error post I have made and I will donate $100 to charity of your choice. Chandler corrected me on the spelling of Seymour Knox and I thanked him for that.

As I'm not the only one in this thread that shares my opinion it likely is not "ridiculous". As for complaint about the posts, I was referring to the in game posts. I dont mind people disagreeing with a call. That's the fun of sports. But posting the refs or the NFL want the Chiefs to win is in your words ridiculous. And keep it classy. Telling me to F off is not appropriate.
