Milano and Edmunds OUT against Miami
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well this will be a good test for Klein. Didn't like the signing then in term of the player or the money. People were fretting about backup QB but I was posting biggest risk is backup linebackers. Just signing a LB, Matekevich that is solely for special teams hurts too. I was banking on Joseph stepping up but was quite wrong. -
Current TBD Whipping Boy?

Bass until he makes a pressure kick Murphy Ford Allen only in the aspect of his ball security -
How did the right side of the OL fare Sunday?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to NewEra's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The O'line just is not that good at blocking or the scheme does not work well. Morse is not physical in the middle. Almost every player is better at pass blocking than run blocking with the notable exception of Feliciano. I would like to see Ford at RT and Winters at RG. Give the current 5 another game to see how much of the poor performance was due to the Jets D and hope they get up early on the Dolphins. Then give Ford some snaps at RT and Winters some snaps at RG. -
Agreed. At the time no one on this board thought he was worth the money LA paid him. No need to have a revisionist view of the decision. Bills didn't overpay and LA got more of a player than we thought. I don't recall any of these complaints you are referencing. I don't recall anything on or off the field to believe he hated being in Buffalo. Now I don't dispute he may have wanted out. Some guys want big cities some don't. Nothing wrong with that.

I know it's not a popular opinion on this board but table smashing is emberassing. Just makes the western NY region look bad. National view of Buffalo is snow, table smahing, and the bad view of the Falls. But glad he is having fun and didn't get hurt. Hope his son starts to show some athletic ability.

Would You Trade For Zach Ertz?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Buffalo03's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Teams do dumb things all the time. Who is to say the Eagles won;t trade him for less than he is worth. Maybe he has pissed people off in the organization. Hopkins, Jamal Adams, and Earl Thomas are recent examples of guys that were moved for curious reasons. Would I trade Kroft and a 2nd round pick and give Ertz a decent sized contract, yes. Knox looks like he can be great but a mentor like Ertz would go a long way. Philly will play a few more games before they consider making a move -
The packers really blew it selecting Love
Ethan in Cleveland replied to NewEra's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Mike McCarthy and Dom Capers failed Rodgers. That team has had bad luck with injuries to key guys including Rodgers. Never been able to keep everyone healthy. They had enough talent on both sides of the ball but coaches failed them along with injuries -
The packers really blew it selecting Love
Ethan in Cleveland replied to NewEra's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
People seem to forget the Packers already have a top 10 or at worst top 15 WR in Adams. They added numerous other players to their offense in the draft just not at WR. No issue with them taking Love. If they want to keep Rodgers and Love has a strong pre-season next year then maybe he has some more trade value. Maybe he is insurance for Rodgers who has gotten injured multiple times over the last few years. -
Bills not coming out for National Anthem
Ethan in Cleveland replied to DE Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Protesting does not mean they are not patriots. You can love your country and still know that is has many faults. There are 27 amendments to a document that has existed for over 225 years ensuring that our Democracy evolves and endures. -
Is the "read option" by the Bills something you like?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to LB48's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's not a good enough passer yet. Keep running him. He is big and strong like Newton and Roethlisberger. Steve Young ran early in his career. So did Elway. I have no problem with the designed runs. They work because he is a good runner and it gives you an extra blocker. The O-line is an average run blocking unit at best. At almost every position except maybe Feliciano they are all better pass blockers than run blockers. Just hold on to the ball and slide. He slid really well last year. He didn't slide once on Sunday. He just needs to learn two more yards won't matter most of the time and fumbles cost points. -
Bills not coming out for National Anthem
Ethan in Cleveland replied to DE Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Don't care. I'm supportive of the players. No need for the national anthem to be played before the game anyways. Save it for the Olympics and maybe the SuperBowls. -
Just turned on the game. Wow the fake crowd noise is terrible. Its the same for every play no matter the situation or outcome. Just turn it off.

Milano & Edmunds Injuries are day-to-day
Ethan in Cleveland replied to saundena's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Dodson looked better than Klein in the limited snaps they were both on the field. Klein looked slow. -
WIN THE TOSS AND DEFER, SMART?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Stroke 17's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Almost everybody defers but I really don't think it matters one bit. Honestly the Bills have been terrible on offense to start second halfs so maybe they should just take the ball first if they win the coin toss. Both teams make adjustments at the half. Being aggressive at the end of the first half should be the norm. With the defense the Bills have, they should be trying to score even with little time left. I would trust my defense to hold even if a late first quarter drive fails and leaves clock for the opponent. -
We learned a Screen Game over the offseason
Ethan in Cleveland replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
MaJ you called it. I think the first screen was to Knox. The line and backs executed the screens fairly well and to both sides of the field. -
Great quote about Allen by Stefon Diggs
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Diggs is a superior talent. The Bills have had very few over the last two decades. It looked like Allen and Daboll ran their offense and took what the defense gave them. They didn't force anything to anyone. If they keep playing that way I suspect we will see equal chances for Diggs and Brown with a few passes to Beasley. The rest will go to Knox and the backs. Kroft will be lucky to catch 10 passes all year -
What we heard was the network broadcast. I think it was ok but would be fine without it.

Josh Allen - week ONE report card
Ethan in Cleveland replied to rayray808's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Can't fumble and can't miss a wide open Brown for a TD to be elite. Today he was a top 10 QB. Clean up those three plays and he was top two or three -

If You Had to Sign a Linebacker....Who?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Wizard's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Slim pickings. Wow did they overpay for Klein based on the list of linebackers signed/available in free agency. -
No actually it is what Coach Tuesday said above. It is to get the linebackers to lean the wrong way for a split second allowing the o-line a better angle to block. He was but he pass blocked well and did a great job settling into the open space in the zone for his TD catch. He set up blockers well on his screen too.

Right side of OL week two
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why is everyone convinced Ford is the best option at RG? Williams struggled at RT. I do understand the continuity argument and that is fair. But then what happens if and when Feliciano comes back? Do they stick with Ford at RG? Figuring out if Ford is the answer at RT in the next several games will help them for years to come. Much easier to find an interior lineman than a capable OT. I see little downside to bringing up Winters and Lee Smith next week and sitting Gilliam and Williams. -
How not to protect your blue chip franchise QB
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Its the new NFL. Josh needs to learn fighting for two yards is not worth it. The stiff arm looks cool until you break or dislocated a finger. Just go down and use the sideline. Designed running plays for your QB gets you an extra blocker and unlike the wildcat has a real threat to throw the ball. Mahomes was hurt on a freak QB sneak and RGIII was hurt scrambling in the pocket. Daboll was fine today. Josh needs to hold onto the ball and get down. He will run less as the season progresses and they play teams less stout against the run.
