  1. You remember the creativity when it works and forget about it when it doesn't. No doubt he is using less Jet sweep action. But he is still moving guys around. He will line up a back out wide and then bring him back in the backfield. A lot of little moves by Diggs along the LOS. Against Baltimore it was Knox. He moved him on and off the line frequently and often settling into a H-back stance but instead of outside the tackle he was lined up between the Guard and OT. I don't know what he saw or the reason to do it. Perhaps to deal with blitzes. I'd have to go and see but there was a critical 3rd and short play action pass to Knox that was executed perfectly. I just don't remember if there was presnap motion on that play.
  2. Agree cut Morse. He is average at best. Move Feliciano to center for a year and draft a center for the next 5 years in the first three rounds. Keep Brown. They have the best WR group in the NFL. Don't mess with it. They have a very good pass blocking OL but a below average run blocking line. Perfectly fine with making changes on the OL. And I'd rather have Williams for two or three more years at RT than Morse at center. As for the OP, Ike is servicable guard and appears to be playing better than Ford did. Ford was playing hurt at times though. They are not getting rid of Ford or Ike. Let them compete.
  3. I agree. But the term was mostly used to describe the drunk table jumpers not the fan base that could pack away stadiums and donate hundreds of thousands of dollars. As I said above, maybe it’s changing.
  4. Hate the name. Posted that in at least four other threads this year. I will say however nationally there has been a slight shift in the national narrative from table jumping to these series of donations. Its one benefit of no tailgating in 2020.
  5. The logical comparison is 1988 at Cincinnati. Bills were young and up and coming after a long drought. Kelly played terribly throwing three INTs and Thurman had only 6 yards rushing and no receptions. At the time the Bengals had just started using the no-huddle offense. The week before Chuck Knox used the fake injured player routine to slow them down. The Bills were a balanced team with up and coming stars on offense and defense. The offense would not really take off until the K-gun was fully installed two years later. Now the Chiefs have the vaunted offense. The Bills are a more balanced team than they were at the beginning of the season, with the defense improving their play ever since the hail mary.
  6. It's not Milano. The easy an obvious answer is it is Josh. But could it be Diggs? There is no doubt Josh Allen has carried this team. But how much of that carry is because of Diggs? It's the same system with mostly the same players. How much of Allen's improvement is a direct result of Diggs? What would Allen's numbers look like with Brown as the #1?
  7. It's a business. It is wonderful that he has embraced the city. But he and his agent will and should fight for a fair contract. And a fair contract based on precedent is being paid at least top 3 money. There are a couple of issues that make it more challenging to take less money. First his take home pay with the state taxes is going to be less than similar deals in some other states. Second, at least so far he has not gotten the national recognition and marketing dollars that other QBs have. Rodger, Manning, and Mahommes seems like naturals in front of the camera. Brady not so much but he married a woman that has more wealth than he does. Agents have agendas too. They have more than just one client and they may not want to risk being seen as settling for a bad deal. In the end, Beane will need to find a way to build a team around a star QB that is paid top 2 or 3 money. Any home town discount won't really be that much in cap savings. Beane will need to start trading down to acquire more picks, play the comp pick game, sign some aging vets for the league minimum and draft well. All much easier said than done. Many have tried few if any have succeeded.
  8. Well the arguments would be it's just his third season, the future is not known, and you are comparing stats from vastly different eras. I actually agree he is on pace to be better than Kelly, but that will take several more years to know. If you follow your logic, and Herbert won a SB next year would he already be better than Fouts?
  9. He carried his team to a playoff win. He kept them in it and if the kicker had made his attempts, even after the pick 6 it would have been a one score game. That was his first red-zone INT in his career. Josh hasn't had one yet but he will at some point. He looks limited as a passer to me but that does not mean they can't win. Wilson has gotten better as a passer but that hasn't turned into more playoff wins. It's still a team game.
  10. Not much would change for the players. The top 5 players in Bills' history would still be Smith, Simpson, Kelly, Thomas, and Reed in that order. Allen would immediately jump into the conversation of the next group including Kemp, Gilchrist, Tasker, DeLamielleure, and a few others. Diggs of course is in the conversation for one of the best players to ever play in Buffalo but he would need several more seasons to crack into the top 10. The interesting conversation is where would Beane and McDermott rank? I've posted often that I don't think Levy belongs in the HOF but I do think Polian does. Beane would instantly vault to #2 GM of all time in Bills' history. Hell he might be there already. McD surely moves ahead of Lou Saban with a SB win. Add a few more winning seasons even without another SB run and he would likely move past Levy as well.
  11. No. There are stages but there is nothing that dictates how long you need to be in each stage. It is supposed to be an independent process. This will be a real test for the integrity of the process
  12. Perfect take. Ravens defense is good. The Davis almost TD would have taken a really amazing catch. He would have needed to tip it to himself with his outstretched hand and then catch it while being tackled. Allen puts that ball 6 inches closer and it is a TD. It wasn't a bad drop nor necessarily a bad pass.
  13. What is Wooderson? You may be right. Keep in mind the first two years he had a bad shoulder (year 1) and Rex was asking him to play OLB. He outplayed Murphy the next two years and it really wasn't close. Water under the bridge now. Liek I said Murphy will be gone, they will draft another Edge and DT and they will hopefully use the cap space for Milano and Williams
  14. I wasn't advocating for what Parcells did I was just pointing out a historical fact. Others have tried it with dominant defenses and it didn't really work. In the end I don; thin it matters much. Yes if you are coming from behind in the 4th quarter having the wind would be great. Having a lead in the fourth quarter would be better though no matter how you got it. I was at that game. Drove up from Cleveland for it with no tickets. The game started out ok, but you could see and watch the front moving in and over the stadium.
  15. Who wasn't entertained? Guys made plays on both teams. Guys missed FG's. That is drama. That is entertainment. I'd say the last 8 min were boring because the result was inevitable
  16. I chipped in $25 and in the comments wished Lamar good health and Go BIlls!
  17. His cap hit did not prevent them from signing any free agents. They would have had the same cap hit if they chose to keep Lawson. I still would rather have Lawson. He was and still is the better player. They should have picked up his 5th year option and forced him to play out his contract before committing to him though. Either way Murphy will be gone and that cap space will go to Milano and Williams.
  18. Poyer also got a piece of Hollywood Brown. Brown has enough speed to catch Taron from behind but Poyer just got in his way. Taron did a great job of not getting his feet tangled up with White ala Terrence McGee against the Saints Doesn't the NFL look at games during the week and adjust the stats. They may still change it. Looked like he caught it two yards deep then went a yard deeper and took it out from there.
  19. Close but these guys deserve to be on their first Kyle Williams Fred Jackson Aaron Schobel and maybe Reuben Brown
  20. Murphy lost contain on one play. But was uncharacteristically solid all game. Phillips had a few nice stops and a few times he got blown out of the hole. All in all he seemed to hold up to the double team ok. He is a good rotational DT and another year removed from the knee injury should tell us more. Edge and DT and getting younger on the DL will still be priorities this off-season
  21. Let's see what Tampa does against the Saints. Tampa was 8th ranked D in the league by yards. They have some playmakers on that side of the ball. Saints are ranked high too. Both have similar takeaway and Yards/play numbers.
  22. Parcels sometimes would play with the wind an d put his defense on the field first in the first quarter. The thought was to get a first quarter lead with the opponent battling the wind and Lawrence Taylor.
  23. Great Bill! Best pass rusher on the team for the last 5 years.
