  1. He always had an arm comparable to Elway. I knew he could make all the throws that is why he was my #1. Full disclosure Rosen was my#2. I didn't think he would run as well as Elway did. Elway was more speed but still big enough to take a pounding. Josh is more power but just enough top end speed to run away from most DL and linebackers. Insane combo.
  2. Beane has traded away Zay Jones and traded for Benjamin before the deadline. So it does happen and this regime has done it in the past. Had he traded for Miller last year we wpuld likely have won the SuperBowl. That said, I dont see a need to make a trade for anyone at this point. Hamlin is doing ok at safety and CB is going to go from weakness to strength in a week. DL is solid. Sure the OL depth could get better and with Doyle gone for the year maybe they make a trade for a swing OT.
  3. He got better. People forget while we saw glimpse of greatness in year 1 and 2 he is one of the few quarterbacks to make such a great leap in year 3. He is better in almost every way compared to year 1 and 2. I used to compare him to Cam Newton because of the size, the arm, and the running ability. Now I think the best comparison is Brett Favre. Josh is a gunslinger and will probably throw a few more INTs than we would like but he will make up for it with clutch performances.
  4. Bills Chargers AFC Championship - no change from my preseason pick 49ers Vikings NFC Championship - I think I had Tampa and LA or Green Bay. I don't think any of those three make the NFC Championship game now. I still don't know if I trust the Eagles but will follow them more closely now.
  5. The problem is there is no real science on concussions and being cleared to play. All that is known is repeated concussions are more likely to have long term consequences and the shorter the time between concussions probably the worse the long term issues. But there is no good quantifiable test to figure out that risk. The fact the Dolphins won't admit us he had a concussion against the Bills and having another only a few days later is dangerous. He should be sitting for a much longer time. Another shot to the head in the next few weeks may be permanently life altering.
  6. Well that was true. Sorry if you don't want to believe it. Its a new season. The defensive line has three new starters. They are much better stopping the run and QB pressures are now sacks. Edmunds is playing much better than last year, and the young DBs are playing well. 6 fumbles in 6 games is not good. Is it a fluke or is it a real issue? Only time will tell but my guess is they will get it cleaned up.
  7. Agree. He has gotten much better when running. QBs usually have high fumble rates because they get tagged with the fumble on botched snaps and handoffs in addition to strip sacks. Which of course makes no sense. Why doesn't the center get tagged with the fumble since he was the last one to possess the ball which is the reason why QB/RB lost exchanges are credited to the QB???
  8. Its Edmunds fault somehow I just know it...but I can't prove it
  9. Agreed. 6 fumbles is second only to Saints. Josh has been a bit careless at times but he makes up for it in so many other ways. Need to secure the ball. In 2021 there were 8 teams that had only 6 fumbles the entire season. Bills only had 7 all last year in really bad weather in many games. Tighten up the fumbling and they will be fine.
  10. Because it was the right thing to do
  11. Huge upgrades at DT are paying off and Edmunds is playing the run far better this season. I've consistently pointed out Edmunds poor play in the past but agreed with Beane on picking up the 5th year option for this very reason. Edmunds is proving his value. I'd extend him now based on this 6 game sample size.
  12. Snooze. I have the whole weekend to keep framing my new basement workshop!!!
  13. I dont see any team from AFC East beside Buffalo making the playoffs. The wildcard teams will be second place team in AFC West most likely Chargers and North, probably Baltimore. Denver is toast and so too is probably Las Vegas. Then you have the AFC South where as bad as they are, I think Tenn and Colts probably both make it perhaps with identical 10-7 records. I'm skeptical that Miami, NE, or NYJ can get to 10 wins.
  14. The Giants showed the blue print to stop high potency offenses long ago. Rush and get pressure with 4 and drop 7. It's been the formula for a long time now. Easy to say and incredibly difficult to execute.
  15. Every right to be skeptical. That said the last 20 years has no bearing on this year. I have doubts about their HC but their QB is elite. I'm sticking with my pre-season prediction of Bills-Chargers in AFC Championship game in Buffalo.
  16. QB, WR, LT, and DE all injured. If/when they get healthy they will be a force
  17. He's 69th in YPC. Hardly the return on investment they were looking for. Agree it is with a back-up QB but I'm guessing Browns will be in full rebuild mode by end of year.
  18. Amari Copper has been a disappointment in Cleveland and the wheels are about to fall off the franchise in Cleveland again. They have been calling for HC to be fired for three weeks now. Teller hurt calf last week. Their season was lost when Watson was suspended. I could see Cleveland letting Cooper go for a 2nd and 4th to try and add draft picks for 2023.
  19. LOL. Like Beane should have done last year. Water under the bridge but most on here wanted Miller last season.
  20. Not sure Eagles are even 3rd best team. I do agree they have a solid roster. I think my top 3 is Buffalo, KC, and then Minn. I'm still beating the table for the Chargers and think by the end of the year if they can get healthy will be a very tough team to beat. Agree + 12 in turnover ratio is not sustainable. I thought Buffalo would be higher but did not realize they have 6 lost fumbles in 6 games. Bills need to clean that up. Second worst number in the league.
  21. Yes that makes it even worse. He was a known cheat when they signed him
  22. OMG you are not serious? PED Murphy got paid a ton and sucked his entire Bills tenure.
  23. I didn't know Larry Nance was calling NFL games. He was a great Cleveland Cavalier on some good teams that couldn't get past Jordan and the Bulls.
  24. 1a and 1b is a reasonable take. Yes Hill is a loss but Smith-Schuster went off for 5 catches and 113 yards. They still have other complimentary receivers as well. The real difference is the defenses. Bills are giving up 11 pts/game less than KC, have 5 more sacks, and all importantly Bills have 13 takeaways to the Chiefs 5. Better yet Bills have 10 INT to Chiefs only 1. Fumbles are more random. INT are a better measure of a team's ability to take the ball away. Bills D is legit this year. They can effectively rush 4 or even three and drop back into coverage. Yes sometimes that means they get dinked and dunked down the field but it forces the other team to be nearly perfect on offense. If the opponent does not have a HOF QB and TE that is really hard to do.
  25. I still have Gonzalez and Gronk as 1 and 2 all-time but by the end of his career Kelce may be the best of them all.
