A dynamic pass catching running back like Thurman or Tomlinson would be perfect. I'm still holding out hope Knox will be better. They need an edge player like TJ Watt to disrupt plays winning one on one battles. And they need a new center. Morse barely holds up in the pass game and does next to nothing in run game. He was a healthy scratch for a reason. They wanted to see if Feliciano could play Center. They will cut Morse bring back Feliciano to play center for a year, draft a true center and play Ford at Guard.

So the stud MLB is almost approaching bust status. He really is awful and I don't care he was named the ProBowl. I guess you are talking about H. Phillips. In 2018 he was pretty awful. He looked better at the start of 2019 and he was benched for Zimmer in 2020 after coming off the ACL. The cap space is mostly gone used up on the likes of Addison, Butler, Klein, Mantekevich, and Jefferson. The cap is still manageable. They may have to choose between Williams or Milano unless they can get one to take a team friendly deal. But we have a star QB. That is all that mattered to figure out for 2020.

Trade out of the first round and get an extra pick this year. They need C( I predict Morse will be a salary cap cut), Edge, DE, TE, and RB. And depending on what they do with Williams an OT. Some of those needs are rotational and depth. Some will be filled in free agency.

Its not an option. It has to be an extension by rule. There is virtually no impact to salary cap for 2021

The premise of the OP question is interesting but fundamentally flawed for two reasons. 1. The precedent has been set to extend after the third year. Both Allen and Jackson will be extended because they have proven they are stars. Just like Watson, Wilson and Mahomes were. I know Wilson was different because of no fifth year option. And those that are not stars don't get the extension like Trubisky didn't and Darnold will not. 2. It's an extension and it does not affect the cap nor the ability to sign players for 2021 It is 100% certain Allen will sign an extension over the summer that will be more than Watson or Wilson but less than Mahomes. The only way it doesn't happen if Allen wants to wait for a bigger contract.

For the record I have no issue with the FG before the half. I question some of the play calls inside the 10 yard line more than I do not going for it on fourth down. Also McDs biggest tactical mistake was going for 2 down 17. Makes no sense. Get the XP and make it a two score game.

Whaley and Beane both hurt us cap wise. Beane accelerated the process so he could get the roster he wanted. We have cap issues again before paying Allen. Beane spends a lot of money on marginal free agents.

Its a reasonable take. I think the more likely surprise cuts will be: 1. Morse 2. Brown 3. Singletary

The only way to slow down elite TEs is with DBs covering them. They are too fast and too big for linebackers. The only way to beat the Chiefs is to blitz Mahommes mercilessly

Wrong answer to the wrong problem. Rush the passer. That is how you prevent the TE from catching passes.

1. DE - Addison was a terrible signing. He is washed up. They need to get younger and faster on the edge. I suspect he will be back nextyear as a veteran rotation guy given the contract he signed. Murphy will be gone. I like the weight loss they asked Epenesa to do. His frame now looks like TJ Watt now. I don't think he will ever be as explosive as TJ Watt but he may be able to contribute some next year. 2. Center - Morse is overpaid and a concussion away from missing serious time. They should cut him, move Feliciano to C, and draft a true center in the first three rounds. Then start Ford at guard. 3. Edge - move Edmunds to edge and find a new MLB. Solves two problems. Edmunds is a terrible MLB. He would be amazing OLB. 4. TE - I had hoped Knox would break out but that didn't happen. They will let Kroft go so adding another TE to compete with Knox will be a necessity 5. QB - neither Fromm or Barkley should be counted on to win a few games if Allen missed time. Fromm has a Peterman arm and while I have no issue with the wasting a day 3 pick on a QB, I just hope they do it on a guy that can at least throw a NFL pass.

I'm not going to defend taking Love in the first round. Look at how good their WR group was. All the uproar about not taking a WR was much ado about nothing. They have a top 4 WR maybe the best WR in football. Adding other pieces to the offense was fine. They made it to the NFC Championship. They lost their LT to a freak injury. Tampa has a very good defense. Move on to next year

They played two safeties deep down the middle which makes no sense. Tampa had not timeouts. All they had to do was defend the boundary. Anything caught in the middle of the field the clock would have expired.

And those ripping on Pettine for the first half TD pass( which was inexcusable), might want to remember White getting toasted on a double move by Baltimore WR with Buffalo protecting a two score lead.

Dillon was injured for some games. He posted 5.3 YPC and was effective when he was in the game. He had a full 1 YPC more than Moss. GB lost because their OL could not block the Tampa DL. 100% agree I thought Rodgers should have run for the goal line on that 3rd down

No he isn't. He rarely gets blown off the ball. For his lack of ideal size he actually holds up in the run game ok. He gets the double team most of the time. Nobody is doubling Phillips or Zimmer. I did not want to draft him and thought it was a bad decision. But that doesn't color my evaluation of him. He's just average and for a top ten pick that is a disappointment.

Edmunds is not even average. He really is a liability on the defense at MLB. I dont care about his age. He has played for three years and is not getting any better. I still am of the opinion if Edmunds was moved outside to edge he would be a nightmare matchup. He is not the answer at MLB and for that reason I'm comfortable labeling him a bust at this point. Oliver is an average DT at this point in his career. DT takes longer to develop. For his draft positon he is a disappointment but not yet a bust. He doesn't split double teams and has very little pass rush. I don't care what win rate somebody publishes, I watch the game and he does not push the pocket or move the QB off his spot. At worst Oliver will be a starter maybe even bordering on solid starter. I really doubt he will be a pro bowl talent. He was never big enough to be a star, but I think he can still be a decent starting level DT.

Work on his nerves? I know maybe they start by pass protecting better?

Everything should be reviewable. The helmet to helmet could have changed the outcome of the KC Cleveland game. The missed punch by Jones. Officials can't see everything. Get the call right should be the goal. I don't think it's as easy as you state. That official had to watch the out of bounds line the pylon and the ball. In a fraction of a second. That is why replay was added. There is too much to process in fractions of seconds.

The talent on defense paired with a bend but but don't break game plan killed them. It's fine if your offense is converting third downs and scoring points like the regular season. Doesn't work in the playoffs. Both Tampa and KC have attacking defenses. Stopping the run is not even a passing thought for those defenses. It's all about pressure on the QB. McD needs to evolve.

They played better teams. The Bills were playing patsies down the stretch.

Brown and Morse are the two most likely cuts to save cap space If Brown was injured I'd favor keeping him one more year. I'm ready to draft a center and move on from Morse and that bloated deal for an average player.
