  1. Excellent. One less hole. Now just find TE#2 and take a pause until the draft. If they find a TE#2 they can draft 4 defenders, a RB, and and OT in the draft.
  2. QB play really dropped off towards the end of the season. He is just too small to play in the NFL. They will start out ok but all these old guys will fade fast. If 49ers are better I don't think AZ even makes the playoffs.
  3. My take is at this point in Free agency the team is really no better nor any worse than they were before. Beane has done a good job of clearing cap space and keeping Williams on a reasonable deal. A bit of an overpay for Milano but marginal edge rushers are getting overpaid. The OL is stabilized and should be better with a healthy Ford and Feliciano for the entire year. The WR group is not much different. A little older which is not good but maybe a little less injury prone. Punter has less leg but a bit more consistency. Still no improvement in pass rush and no good options at TE #2 and TE #3. My playbook still stands. Bring back Levi and Dane to compete for CB #2. and Draft four front 7 defenders( 2 edge, 1 NT, 1 MLB), a TE, and a CB that has some return ability.
  4. I agree with your points but it's not irrelevant. If they select a unproven DB at #30 they will spend more in 2021 on CB #2 position in a year with a lower cap. That means they will spend more money on an unproven talent and use a top draft pick on a hole that could have been avoided with a tender offer. In the end it probably won't matter much as they are realistically only 2-3 players short of filling out their entire roster and most will now come in the draft.
  5. Last year pick #30 was a DB to Miami. He signed a contract for 4 years and $11.25 M. That is far more than a $2M tender. AJ Dillon was taken at #62. He signed for 4 years at $5.3M. Wallace is a proven starter and would be relatively inexpensive. To save money they would have to hope a second round pick could start or at least compete with Jackson for the starting role. And that uses one of their top two picks on a DB, with holes still at TE and DE.
  6. Meh. I would have preferred a pay cut and keeping Brown. Maybe he was offered that chance and he said no. But that said, he is a good option to fill our the WR group. Still need TE#2 and edge and if they let Wallace go, a CB#2. Would not want to go into draft needing all three.
  7. I thought Brisset would be a good replacement option for Barkley and Fromm. I hope the Bills just go with two QBs and go cheap. If Allen gets hurt the season is lost anyways
  8. Another who cares move. You probably trade one less shank a year for maybe for a total of 200 net yards of field position (50 punts at 4 net yards/punt difference) and maybe gain a few punts that don't go into the endzone.
  9. The Patriots are getting better...on paper. So far the Bills are standing pat. Nothing wrong with either approach. Bills won 13 games and Beane has done a good job of not letting guys walk, meaning he only has a few holes to fill. Beane is making the right moves to make a run at a SB while Allen is cheap. He just needs to land one impact pass rusher and a complimentary TE to Knox along with Star coming back, and Ford and Epenesa developing.
  10. Waste of money. This team grossly overvalues special teams. Any street FA or low round draft pick LB can do what Matakevich does. He had ten tackles all year. It's only a one year extension so it is not that big a deal but still a waste of resources. I would much rather see them carry an extra LB or DB (especially with some return skills) than a 4th RB to play special teams.
  11. Use the remaining cap dollars on a veteran TE and draft 4 front 7 defenders
  12. Bills can do a lot worse than Levi at CB2. Will give Beane the benefit of the doubt for now
  13. It's just one part of being a GM. He found Welker, Gronk, and Edelman. They had solid OL's most of Brady's tenure. Oh and that guy Moss.... But you are right he never found any offensive talent to go with Brady.
  14. How does woman abuser fit the process and growth mentality?
  15. He is a very good GM. He sheds players before they bottom out. He accumulates multiple draft picks. He makes great trades. He is just a terrible judge of collegiate talent. Yet even with that he managed to draft the greatest QB in NFL history and probably the top 3 tight end in NFL history.
  16. Perhaps the OP needs a history lesson. How do you think the Patriots won their first SuperBowl? They signed a bunch of middle of the road free agents (Mike Vrabel for an example) and paired them with a few stars on defense and an all-world defensive minded HC to make a SB run. It helped that the rules of the day allowed Belichick to grab and hold receivers all day long. The Patriots won 7 games last year with the most number of COVID opt-outs in the league and played the league's hardest schedule (preseason ranking). The Bills barely beat them in the first game. Newton had a better game than Allen in the first game - both were terrible. And they were one yard away from beating Seattle in Seattle. The Patriots are not in the class of the Bills but they have the personnel to make a WC run.
  17. Please stop saying pay cuts when these are restructures. The players just convert roster, salary, and/or and playing bonus money to signing bonus to prorate the cap hit. That's it. The players don't lose a dime in comp.
  18. I prefer pass rush but unlike most years I would not be too upset with a CB in the first round. Especially if he has some return ability too. They will add pass rushers in FA and the draft either way. Just may not be very flashy. Alot depends on what they think of Epenesa.
  19. I'm higher on Wallace at a cheap price than many on this board. I don't see CB2 as a big need. Others disagree. I can see a scenario where they draft a CB in the first round giving them two lock down corners for the foreseeable future. Would I make that move? No. Would I hate it? PRobably not as long as they add a pass rusher in FA or later in the draft.
  20. 1. Tender Wallace 2. Sign Bojo 3. Sign Kyle Rudolph 4. Start watching more college tape because there is no more money to spend
  21. It depends if they land a veteran TE in the next few weeks. If not it will be EDGE, TE, NT, MLB, EDGE, DB and they roll with Moss/Singletary and a street FA at RB. If they land a Kyle Rudolph and a good RB drops, yes I can see them taking another RB this year Can't spend money everywhere. Pass rush wins games not pass coverage (unless the refs let you cheat). I'm fine with Wallace and Jackson battling for CB#2 in 2021. If they fill out the front 7 with this draft, they can draft a CB, S, and C next year.
