Looks like John Brown was released
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah I dont think so. That is 16.5 yards per catch. He will more likely be around 50 caches for 650 yards. Last year he was under 12 YPC and career average is 13. -
Agree on the 3rd stringers, but I'm not sure all teams spend $2.75 M on a 3rd string LB. I think people like myself think you don't have to pay 3rd string players $2.75 M for 10 special teams tackles all year. I believe you can get an UDFA small LB with speed to get 10 special teams tackles for the league minimum. Roberts had an impact - not denying that, but how many times did we also say please just stay in the endzone. A DB that is your 8th or 9th DB can field punts and kick-offs and they do not need to be paid $1.3 M.

Sammy Watkins in Buffalo
Ethan in Cleveland replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why do you think Sanders would get that many more snaps than Watkins? In the last two years Sanders only has 8 more catches than Watkins does. -
Not sure what you are looking at. For 2020 it has Bass included. This is only the P,K, and LS. Which are cheap because Bass is on a rookie deal with some kickers making 6-7 times as much as he does. This is not a true reflection of spend on STs. It has Bills spending $2.38M. Matakevich alone was $2.75 M in guaranteed salary. Roberts was $1.3M.

Ro-ro for "Right Josh" Rosen
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was never high on Darnold. He never looked good at USC when the pocket wasn't perfectly clean. But I will admit Rosen was my #2 behind Allen with Baker 3rd. -
Wow that is an overpay. Have to wonder if they bring back Kroft at this point. Not sure what Beane's plan is here. Plenty of guys that the Bills could have afforded are now gone. But paying $8M for Rudolph is not the answer to missing out on the other guys.

Bills re-sign Taiwan Jones
Ethan in Cleveland replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I can't recall a single play he made last year except the dropped TD pass that cost the Bills the receiving TD record. But I do recall the Tampa pass rush destroying the Chiefs. Don't recall a single special teams play from the SB. -
Just sign Rudolph and let Knox develop

What Team Do FA's Not Want to Go To ?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The teams that don't pay market value? Other than that I think it comes down to individual preference. Why did Mario Williams choose Buffalo? He liked the money and who knew he really liked small towns. Some guys may like big places, others not so much. -
Could call out on Warlock but he never played in the NFL. AFL only. Go check the stats, not a single ProBowl TE in SuperBowl era. As for defending the tight end, that is pure speculation on my part with no stats but I’ve watched games since 1980 and the Billshave a habit of making even marginal TEs look good.

I like Bills chances in all six games too. I just don’t understand how people think NE is a patsy now with all those opt outs coming back and the guys they have added. Your assessment of them winning more game but not a championship is spot on. I think they are in the WC hunt until late Dec and it may come down to Newton vs Tua for the last WC spot.
-
I was referring to the first game they played against each other. Bills vs Patriots, Bills win 24-21 Allen 11 of 18, 154 yards, 0 TD 1 Int 23 yards rush Newton 15 of 25 174 yard, 0 TD 0 Int 54 yards rush I will be honest I’m shocked the Pats brought him back. I thought they would trade for Matt Ryan or Jimmy G. But If you or others think Newton was their biggest issue last year it’s just not correct. Without him they may have gone 3-13. As almost everyone agrees, they had worst collection of skill players in the league.

Way too early guess at the O-line roster: Starters Dawkins Ford Morse Feliciano Williams Reserves Bates Boettger Adams Devey Draft pick - C or OT

Ike Boettger tendered
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good move. Keeps a lot of o-line combinations on the table. Im sure he will sign a deal at a lower price. I was underwhelmed with him last year. If he is the back up G that is fine -
Shhh. Nobody wants to hear that the Pats had more guys opt out of 2020 than any other team or better yet that Newton outplayed Allen in the first game. Bills are the better team because Allen continued to get better throughout 2020 and they return almost the entire team. But New England will be a very tough out.

Bills have the worst TE history in the NFL on both sides of the ball. They have never had a single pro bowl appearance and they are historically one of the worst teams when defending the TE. This transcends two owners, dozens of coaches, and hundreds of players. It really is almost statically impossible for the Bills to be any worse with TE production and defense.

Bills re-sign Levi Wallace
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What would you do? RB? OT? DB? All have plausible cases to be drafted by the Bills at 30. All could fill depth and be penciled in to replace others in the future - hell you can go Center at 30 and move on from Morse in 2022. Edge and TE are the only positions where they may make an immediate impact on this team. There are what four maybe five QBs that could go in the first round and another four or more WR's (Pitts at TE and Surtain is also surely to go in the first 15). Everyone of those picks pushes the defensive front 7 talent down the board. -
Bills re-sign Levi Wallace
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Unlikely. It is what Beane says but not what he does. If they do not sign a pass rusher or TE in free agency, you can bet he will draft two DL(edge and NT) and TE witin the first four picks. The fourth will be either a DB or RB. -
Bills re-sign Levi Wallace
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I can't defend his production to date, but there is no TE available that is as good as Knox. He's the best prospect at TE Bills have had in decades. -
Bills re-sign Levi Wallace

Feliciano and Williams were free agent signings not draft picks. They were not drafted by the Bills. Wallace was a UDFA not a draft pick. So only the Milano signing really fits your statement.
