Depends on how you define "make a sound." As soon as you define terms, this riddle isn't so perplexing. If "makes a sound" means sending reverberated energy waves through the ground and air away from the fallen tree, then yes, it "makes a sound" even if nothing else is out there. If "makes a sound" means sending reverberated energy waves through the ground and air AND THEN being received by some intelligent life with a brain capable of interpreting the energy into a signal, then no, the tree doesn't "make a sound" because nothing is out there to receive/interpret the energy being emitted by the fallen tree. Gotta define terms.

Bills interested in signing Rob Gronkowski, per Tim Graham
Nextmanup replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
ROFLMAO. I have just what Greg S. is looking for....the schwere Gustav! This bad boy needed TWO sets of railroad tracks to operate. I think we could get McDermott into the Atlantic from Orchard Park. -

Beane, get 'er done! -
Cole Beasley given permission to seek trade
Nextmanup replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall
So much for Beane saying "Oh I have every reason to expect him to be back next season" or however he put it... -
The Sabres are currently in a penny pinching mode and have been there for quite a while. Pegula has a lot of money but the Sabres organization is bleeding money. There are entire threads dedicated to this topic at Sabres forums.

This site was much better before migration.

I would hope we are trying to do that already. Why wouldn't you?

She actually looks a good bit older than 51. I see hotter women at that age practically every day walking at the beach. 51 isn't that old these days.

Bills vs. Chiefs Divisional Round: Full Match Re-play
Nextmanup replied to HomeTeam's topic in The Stadium Wall
I still have this game on the DVR. Have not watched it a second time and have no plans to do so in the foreseeable future. -
I have said I wouldn't be surprised if Brady un-retires and then re-retires, maybe even as much as twice. He's the classic ultra-competitor who will have a LOT of trouble walking away from the game. We'll see what he does. I'd LOVE for him to end up in Miami---gives us a chance to seriously hurt him--a goal of mine that was never accomplished.

You're totally right, and yet McDermott continues to make ST a priority! Or at least he clearly values it as an important fact of the game...which is stupid.

Tim Graham: Bills stadium deal could be announced this week.
Nextmanup replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall
I said a long time ago that the stadium should be built downtown as that is clearly and obviously the smart way to go...and that it would NOT be built there because...Buffalo. 😂 -
In hindsight, what’s your worst “hot take” on TSW ever?
Nextmanup replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall
That wasn't a "hot take." That was a sensible opinion at the time. No one knew Josh would basically do the impossible. -
Goaltending was actually pretty solid to start the season, then we had some injury problems and it was much more up and down. We are nowhere close to a fringe playoff team however, even if we had Dom in his prime. Among many other problems, we are dead last (league wide) in face-off wins.

Terry Pegula is 90% of the problem with the Sabres, but it's not because he doesn't care about them winning. He thinks he knows something about hockey, despite being the lowest information sports fan you've ever known. There is a video/audio clip floating around from a few years ago talking about the Sabres potentially acquiring Taylor Hall in the off-season (which we later did). Terry says on a hot microphone: "If we get this guy, we aren't talking about making the playoffs, we are talking about making a run at the Cup" or words to that effect. It is the perfect statement demonstrating just how stupid he is. His judgment is horrible. He has no understanding--whatsoever--of what makes a quality hockey team or how to build one. There is no doubt he ordered Darcy Regier to acquire Ville Leino, leading to one of the worst FA acquisitions in club history, b/c he scored the goal that put the Sabres out of the playoffs the previous season. It goes on and on. When ANY sports team is THIS BAD for THIS LONG there is only 1 possible place to look: OWNERSHIP. It literally HAS to be ownership to be this bad this long. You would think Buffalo sports fans would be well informed on this topic given our history with Ralph Wilson and the Bills. I continue to PRAY that he gives up on the Sabres, focuses solely on the Bills, and sells the hockey team. That's where we are now as Sabres fans, I think.

Move out of Kentucky...

I like the color; do not like the cursive script for "Buffalo"...looks like the font from a bottle of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer, and that's not a good thing. Also, choosing a silhouette of a downtown skyline as the logo is kind of ridiculous. That doesn't represent Buffalo or WNY at all. Absolutely nothing about Buffalo says "large metropolitan city."

Walter Football Mock with the Hot Take on our MLB
Nextmanup replied to Richard Noggin's topic in The Stadium Wall
The funny thing is that a sizable portion of this forum still thinks Edmunds is a really good football player. I think this mostly stems from the fact that he was a relatively high draft pick, and he currently plays for the Buffalo Bills. When he's gone, he will be laughed at by the same people. 😂 🤦♂️ -
...and how has that worked out so far?f The drafting has been mostly terrible. A great example of this is Edmunds. Athletic freak--very mediocre at best football player.

Per Andrew Marchand (New York Post) Troy Aikman is ESPN bound for MNF
Nextmanup replied to Greg S's topic in The Stadium Wall
He is the classic meathead ex-football player type who repeats the same and false broadcasting tropes over and over again. He'll probably talk about "momentum" a lot and for some odd reason, he loves to reference "Vic Fangio" with always makes me laugh. And when a coach does something intelligent that Troy doesn't understand based on analytics, he proudly declares "I don't know what he's doing there" and expresses disdain for the choice, as opposed to understanding and explaining it to the viewer. He's just terrible. The current world of football broadcasting is utterly devoid of quality. There's a few decent guys out there, but it's mostly terrible. -
Vintage Miles is some of my very favorite music of all time. I'm talking his classic be-bop stuff from the late '50s...around that era. "Kind of Blue" is one of the greatest albums ever recorded IMO. But then at a certain point, in the early '70s with stuff like "***** Brew" he went insane, and never came back. I can't stand his later stuff.
