According to Ian Rapoport The Bills are “always the mystery team”
Nextmanup replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's a far cry from the good old days when Bills leaks were commonplace, and often started by Bills insiders with their own agendas. Doug Whaley comes to mind. -
We better pick some DBs up somewhere! I'd much rather have the elite aspect of my D be in the defensive backfield than up on the line. Line play is grossly overestimated and it just doesn't have enough of an impact on wins and losses.

Drafting Jameson Williams will make us unstoppable
Nextmanup replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall
I like this general line of thinking. A big, physical WR who can fly can single handedly impact our wins total more easily than any other position except QB....and we already have that...but I still fear these guys will draft a F-ing Defensive lineman or some other wasted pick that demonstrates a fundamental lack of understanding of value. Would LOVE to see impact offensive weapon picks with our top pick or picks. -
I'm thinking of Beane' recent public comment: "No reason not to expect him back next year" or words to that effect... And folks still hang on the publicly spoken words of sports management as though they are telling the truth at all times.... 🤔

Did McDermott's seat just get a little warmer?
Nextmanup replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
I hope so! McDermott is going to have to get it done, at some point...or he'll be gone. If he DOES get it done, he might be here for the next 15 years. -
Who cares! If Josh goes down for any meaningful amount of time, the season is over. It's the same for every team in the league.

Breaking: Von Miller to bills, 6 year , 120 million
Nextmanup replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall
This reminds me of acquiring Biscuit back in the day, sort of. -
Such dumb *****.

Breaking: Tom Brady will play this year with Tampa

I said he would un-retire ever since he "retired"... This isn't that surprising. -
Are We Setting Ourselves Up For Disappointment?
Nextmanup replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall
Adding a big name or 2 to the roster is always welcome, but we are definitely NOT "a big name or 2 away" from winning a SB. We have all that we need right now to win a SB. We could have won a SB last year had we not thrown our ticket to the AFC championship game down the toilet. If we re-played last season 10 times, we probably go to the AFC championship game 9 times, win in 5 or 6 times, and win the SB after that 2 or 3 times....with what we had and even with our best CB on the sideline. People for some reason assume, because we didn't win a SB last year, we don't "have what we need right now." We do. -
True, though Edmonton hasn't done a lot with McDavid either... It takes more than a few super stars---and Eichel is a LONG way away from the "generational talent" he was rumored to be. He's probably the 10th best center in the league (or so). Damn fine player, good for 1.3 points per game. Can do a lot of winning with a guy like that, but to think of him as by far the best draft prospect in 20 years, as it turns out, is laughable.... PS: He's right with what he said about that being the loudest game in Buffalo that he ever heard. That building has been SILENT with the worst atmosphere in the league for over a decade now. I and hundreds of other Sabres fans have been bitching about this at Sabres forums since long before we drafted Eichel. Sure, he didn't "say the right thing" but I applaud him for speaking his mind. He's a no-bull#### kind of guy. I still can't believe we traded away by far our 2 best players (Eichel and Reinhart) and thought that would make the team better somehow....

Beane...get 'er done!

We all know what the Bills still lack of
Nextmanup replied to Italian Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall
We were 13 seconds away from playing a very winnable AFC championship game at home last year! Our greatest weakness is our in-game coaching staff, which ain't changing. Other than that, we don't need a lot of changes...if we re-ran last year 10 more times we might have won a SB 3 or 4 times, and appeared in a bunch of AFC championship games. It's always good to get better, and in this league, remaining the same means moving backward...but I'm sure we will improve in certain ways before the first game next year. Until then, enjoy the off-season, and remember, Formula Uno returns in a week! Forza Ferrari! -
I absolutely hate this broadcasting duo--they literally ruin the game watching experience for me--but they will still be an improvement in the MNF slot. I still can't get over how BAD NFL broadcasting talent is these days. It used to be a lot better.

Who is to blame for our lack of Lombardis?
Nextmanup replied to Milanos Milano's topic in The Stadium Wall
As an aside, and to make the conversation more interesting, you can argue that the range of talent across the league represents a TINY slice of bandwidth. I.E., as you look at NFL football players across the league, they are pretty much all cut from the same cloth in terms of size, strength, speed, and athleticism. They have all been athletic freaks/stars through their entire lives, particularly at lower levels. You can also look at what BB has done in New England with Brady and a giant revolving door of players on offense and defense over many years and he found a way to make what he had work. In this sense, maybe winning in the NFL is HUGELY about coaching/scheming/preparation/execution, all of which fall under the umbrella of "coaching" and definitely not "talent acquisition." Thoughts anyone? -
Didn't know it was in danger of going! LOL

"Upstate NY" is a term created by and used by NY city people to describe any part of NY state that is not in the immediate metro NYC area. For some, greater NYC sewer areas such as Chappaqua or even Yonkers are considered too far away from the city and so they are classified as "upstate". As a native Buffalonian, I avoid using the term for this reason.

How Do You Define "Binge Drinking"?
Nextmanup replied to Trump_is_Mentally_fit's topic in Off the Wall
5 drinks in 2 hours does seem a bit aggressive, or like you are simply trying to get drunk as fast as you can. That's a drink every 24 minutes for 5 consecutive drinks. Then again, it depends on the occasion and how much fun you are having. -
Never heard of her...had to click the article. So what is a "golf influencer" anyway? A little "gummy" but she's a solid YES.

Watching Hard Knocks with all that Jerry Jones footage, I couldn't help but notice that Jerry is getting TOO OLD to be doing the sort of stuff he is trying to do. The situation in Dallas will probably get worse until he is gone and there is a regime change.
-
Then get rid of the process and keep Metcalf.
-
He's as dangerous a player as there is in the league. He's like Mahomes and the top QBs---he's worth every dime, even with these huge salaries.

No one is giving a 2nd for Edmunds.
