Revisionist history. He kicked that FG when the Bills were up 10-0. It’s not like the score was 7-7 and he kicked the game winner. Norwood rarely was rarely put in those situations. Many Bills fans do have a special place in their hearts like you do....which is my point. I think fans like him and are quick to overlook the fact that in 1990 he was not a very good or reliable kicker

Eh.... it was a 47 yard field goal and he did make it in the game, but he also struggled from 40+ quite a bit that season. There were several games in 1991 that he botched easy FG’s. Bills fans rallied around Norwood and he’s an easily likable character, but I think because of this some Bills fans overrate him as a kicker

I disagree. If anything, I think Norwood was very overrated. People remember his All-Pro year in 1988 but that was the climax of his career. He went downhill fairly swiftly. By 1991 it was clear he should not be kicking on an NFL roster and once the Bills wisely cut ties, he never kicked another field goal in the NFL. I also remember Norwood missing many kicks he should have made during 1990 and 1991 especially

Fun questions from the game coverage last night. Any have talked about their perceived “struggles” from Stephen Hauschka this preseason and whether the Bills should have extended him. I think that some may be underestimating his talent. Because when you look at his production, I think you can ask the question whether Steve is the greatest kicker in Buffalo Bills history. While he has only been in town for a few years, I think you might be hard pressed to find a kicker who was more reliable. He is 7th all-time in NFL history for accuracy and has shown that he can make clutch kicks including long field goals with consistency. IMO there has never been a kicker as talented. The closest one that comes to mind is Steve Christie. For a few seasons after his signing Christie was flat out clutch. But around 1994 his performance and consistency began to slip a bit. IMO there is no one else close. Don’t pretend that Scott Norwood was ever on that level. Even in his Pro Bowl year in 1988, he was not as dependable from outside 40. In fact, the Bills held onto Norwood for too long when they Others like Rian Lindell or Matt Carpenter were ok but not among the league’s best.

NFL Live on ESPN disses Bills D

“Mediocre in most defensive metrics?” Is that why they Bills ranked so low in DVOA last season? -
I’m sure many members here at Two Bills Drive would gladly let you crash on their couches ??? Seriously though, where you live geographically kind of sucks for watching the Bills games. Yes the Bills games are a long drive and can get expensive but it’s all relative. If you drive to the Meadowlands, you’ll likely be paying more for tickets, lodging, parking, meals etc you’d probably pay more than what you would in Buffalo. It would save you about 1.5 hour drive. I think Foxboro might be a little closer, but who wants to go there? The NFL and greedy owners as a whole are gauging fans in all 32 markets. It’s becoming ridiculously expensive to take a family of 4 to any NFL game. With the televised experience of watching the NFL improving every day, it really makes me wonder whether other fans will stop attending live if prices keep skyrocketing.

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000001044534/article/falcons-kaleb-mcgary-planning-to-play-vs-jaguars Miami wasted no time before releasing former Bills RT Jordan Mills. I don’t know what is sadder: A.) The fact that Mills was the starting RT for the Bills for multiple seasons. B.) The fact that after several poor seasons, Miami thought they could turn him into a starting RT C.) Miami is taking their chances on street free agents or players that couldn’t beat out Mills in preseason, rather than keeping Jordan.

Ed Oliver doesn't look very good

He really hasn’t played a ton. Maybe 4 full quarters or so and even then he’s been in on a rotation. So it’s hard to evaluate him after such a limited body of work. He should have had a sack of Brisset versus Indy and he made some very good penetrations and QB pressures. I think that overall he’s been good which is all you can ask at this point. It’s good to know he’s not getting outplayed for his spot -
I would recommend Bills Beat with Joe B and Matt Fairburn ahead of anything else. Sometimes it worth it to check Radio.com for guests on WGR too

Gumbel and Green were horrible last night

They were pretty bad, especially how they called it like it was a regular season game. It would not surprise me to find out that we’re instructed to do so. Still it was pretty bad -

He is awesome and underutilized in Miami. I see him as a game breaker and would be a great addition to a team. -

Not quite. Nate is going to be a backup QB in the NFL for many years. Agreed. Anyone who says Nate is the worst ever has a huge bias
