  1. Yeah I also thought it was interesting to see players like Josh Reed and Roscoe Parrish on the list but not a Don Beebe And then you have very menial players like Mark Pike, Trey Teague, Chris Kelsey on the list who I don’t believe belong there. I think anything last the Top 25 players gets really tough
  2. I don’t think Lacey is anything great at LB. He’s a pretty decent special team player and that alone might land him a roster spot
  3. Reminds me of the time Mike Mularkey led a team walk to a burger joint in Seattle amidst a tough 3-game road trip. It supposedly brought the team together and they upset a very good Seahawks team. And then they let Pittsburgh’s 3rd string teams destroy them.
  4. Sal Maiorana of the Democrat and Chronicle releases his list of the top 100 players in Bills history. I can’t think of a better person to put this list together. Sal grew up as a fan in Buffalo and then started covering the Bills in the late 80’s as they went on their Super Bowl run. So essentially he’s been following the team the majority of his life. I am sure this list will spark some fun debate!
  5. The other Duke Williams on the Bills LOL
  6. I didn’t think the OL on any of the three strings really did a good job with run blocking. The first unit especially seemed to be really ineffective and making any creases or holes. Singeltary would get stuffed on the line and he looked very much like McCoy last year. I know that Spain and Ford and supposed to be great run blockers but I haven’t seen it in limited work the first two games of the year.
  7. He also wants $20 to be a backup QB. The problem with Keapernick is that he’s the most polarizing figure in the NFL. Bringing him onto an NFL roster is going divide the fan base and topics like racism and politics become the first thing discussed before the actual team. There’s no conspiracy by NFL owner or the NFL. The press and distractions that accompany Kaepernick aren’t worth it.
  8. I don’t agree. I think there’s a difference between actually building a team and just signing talent. It seemed like Nix and Whaley had no plan or strategy. They were just trying to load up every year without any plan. Teams have done this in the NFL for years and it doesn’t usually work. Its almost similar to the situation on Cleveland with Sashi Brown who found some good players on his roster but again, had no idea how to build a team. Anyone who praises the work of these two is either biased or just isn’t familiar with how successful GM’s have turned around losing franchises. Well said. Anyone who laments Doug Whaley as GM, has no idea who the role is about.
  9. I think there are some reasons for encouragement but I am waiting until the games actually mean something
  10. It’s not speculation. It’s a relevant question. Also I hardly think that you won this argument. You lost a lot of points when you lauded Tyrod as a great choice for QB
  11. Tyrod a Pro Bowl QB? Yeah as an alternate. That is a super weak argument to give him props for that move. If Whaley was given as raw of a deal as you like to suggest, then why haven’t any NFL teams hired him? Brian Gaine was fired and rehired by the Bills within weeks. So why hasn’t Doug been hired? SPOILER it’s because he wasn’t a very good GM Whaley supported the hire He did such a good job acquiring talent with the Bills, that ZERO NFL teams have given him a chance to acquire talent on their roster in 3 years.
  12. Mills is a weakness, as is John Miller who has not proved to be a good starter in the NFL. Also you are looking at this list with the benefit of hindsight. In 2015 Percy Harvin was not really effective as a WR. Woods and Goodwin were not nearly as productive in 2015 as they would be in better offenses (with better QB’s) Also the LB core were hardy world beaters. Again....what was his vision? What was his plan for long term success? You claimed it was “ground and pound,” but that was Rex’s vision and Doug. The probably with Doug was a few things: 1. He neglected the QB position for years and put the team in QB purgatory. 2. He could bring talent on the team (though he often overspent to do so) 3. He had no clue how to build a winner long term. Its no surprise Doug Whaley has not gotten another snifffff in the NFL.
  13. How was Malone never charged with anything? 13 years old!?!!?!?
  14. Josh Gordon is the Steve Howe of the NFL.
  15. “The roster was his vision?” Huh? As I said, Whaley had NO long term plan. No vision. He made reckless moves like overspending on contracts or trades which hurt the team later. Oh yeah, he also whiffed HUGE on the QB Position. Funny how you say I’m biased. Most journalists - national and local as well as former players have agreed with my argument. And very few have defended Doug. Coincidence?
  16. You are heavily biased toward Whaley, that is for sure. There were weaknesses at several positions. Didn’t the Bills trot Corbin Bryant on the field to start at DT? Below Average. John Miller at guard? Below average. Bacarri Rambo as starting safety. Below average. But I guess the team was “loaded.” Yeah. You never addressed my main point - Whaley has no vision or any idea how to build long term success. He had no plan. If anything Whaley was a poor man’s Daniel Synder. He tried stacking talent, managed the cap poorly, and had no idea how to build a winner. He has been exiled to the XFL for very good reason. Whaley is not a GM
  17. Ruben actually talks about documented concussions. Says that there really is no way to tell that a player has been concussed. This is why he said Morse needs to be careful, because if he’s prone to concussions he could very well have more than the 3 documented cases
  18. I would not say it was a “good” team. It was an average team and there was no plan or vision. That’s what GM’s ARE NOT supposed to do. That is where Buddy Nix and Whaley failed big time. They had no vision and put together an average team who performed right around their talent level.
  19. Have you heard about Carwell? This is the first I’ve heard he is having issues
  20. It has to be a major disappointment for the Bills if that happens. I’m thinking that they’d still be on the hook for the huge guaranteed money for his contract
  21. He may be a B- against the run but he gives you very little pass rush. I’d be more inclined to a C- I would not give Goff an A. B+ is more appropriate. Especially how he shat the bed in the NFC Championship and Super Bowl.
  22. What GM allows the coach to make the selections for him? The bad pick is on Whaley
  23. Ruben Brown was the guest on the Jerry Sullivan Show this morning. Wow he is a smart and articulate player. A very interesting interview, for sure. Surprisingly, Ruben said that after 4 concussions Mitch Morse it’s a scary situation and “the bad news is, this might be it for him.” He said that after the 4th concussion the NFL nothing to play around with and likened it to boxing where the more times you get knocked out, the easier it is for it to reoccur. He said “after you’ve been knocked out for the 3rd or 4th time, you might want to consider doing something else. He also said that Mitch probably had more than the 4 concussions that were documented and surprisingly in Ruben’s day they were not concerned with concussions. He said to his knowledge he has zero concussion, which probably means he’s had thousands. When discussing physical ailments from an NFL career Ruben brings up Carwell Gardner and says he is “severely suffering” and you can tell that Carwel has suffered some sort of trauma (might not just be concussions) from his physical, high impact blocking style. He encouraged fans to reach out to him with well wishes. It’s a good 20 minute interview and you can hear it below: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-jerry-sullivan-show/id1442870374#episodeGuid=6349533
  24. At this point, I’d put the odds above 50% considering most NFL analysts are projecting the Bills to win between 7 and 9 games. But you make a really good point. If the team is successful in either 2019 or 2020, I think Daboll especially will be in consideration for a HC spot
