Interesting man. Come to think about it Joe Buscaglia used to do something similar (with less volume) on his feed and he stopped a while ago. Maybe it was related. As someone else pointed out, it’s strange how the NFL will enforce that with some media and not with others. It could be that Cover 1 simply isn’t big enough to be on their radar or worth the NFL’s time.

I’m a bit late to the party on this one but it appears that the crew at Cover 1 was denied press credentials by the Buffalo Bills PR Staff. On Twitter Erik Turner seemed to think that the Bills were not giving press access to any blogs. However WGR’s Nate Geary talked about this on the Moranalytics podcast. He said that he knows people from the Bills PR, and the situation isn’t about Cover 1 being a blog or that the team doesn’t respect their work. According to Nate, it’s the fact that Cover 1 uses 90% of the NFL’s intellectual property on their site between film reviews, photos, videos etc for free. He thinks that under Roger Goodell the NFL wants to protect their IP as much as possible and sees blogs like Cover 1 who distribute content for free potentially detracting from fans purchasing NFL Game Pass. Because of this the Bills are weary to provide access to outlets that use their content in this way. I have often been critical of Turner in the past but, I don’t know, I feel that Cover 1 might have a legit gripe. For instance Jerry Sullivan was issued credentials this year because he has a morning show on 1270 AM The Fan which doesn’t really have the best signal. While I’m sure his morning show provided a bit of a boost in their ratings, I am sure they absolutely dwarf what WGR and other morning shows in the market draw. Of course, Sully is (whether people want to believe it or not) a respected journalist in the sports world - especially around Buffalo. Still, I would believe that an outlet with like Cover 1 - with multiple products such as social media, podcasts, blogs, videos, etc probably pulls in a much higher audience than 1270 AM or some of the smaller outlets who were issued credentials.

I’m not debating that he had little success or the fact that his numbers are terrible. But to say that coaches are keeping him around because “he’s a nice guy,” is completely speculatory on your part. Not a fact. I don’t know what McDermott and Gruden see in NP. You did a good job of showing how poor his numbers are. I’m just saying that there have to be reasons why he has a roster spot and was tagged to be a bottom tier NFL QB during his draft class.

This is how EJ feels https://www.democratandchronicle.com/story/sports/football/nfl/bills/2018/11/05/ej-manuel-instagram-posts-asks-why-he-doesnt-have-job-peterman-does/1889517002/

How dare you cheer for him. He’s an ex Bill. And he threw 5 INT in one half. And he’s “historically bad.” The audacity!?!?!?!?

Kirby, the whole “they kept him around because he’s a nice guy,” is pure speculation and conjecture on your part. As you pointed out being “nice” is not really criteria for a roster spot. There has to be a reason why the McDermott’s and Gruden of the world kept him on a roster. We don’t know what that is, but then again, we aren’t NFL coaches.

We’ll see. His performances as starter definitely left a lot to be desired. Like I said, I love underdog stories in sports so I hope he can turn it around because, yes, he is a great person
-
I don’t think you understood me. I’m saying that I am pulling for him to GET BETTER because he’s regarded as a great person. I’m not saying his character warrants a roster spot. A fan hoping for an underdog to overcome adversity....that never happens in sports, does it? I hope he does and that makes the best of the opportunity

I’m not doubting that. Just saying that everyone (coaches, players, media) seems to say what a cool person Nate is. I’m pulling for him to succeed in some way, because it’s cool to see good people do good things. It’s not very likely but if he could win a few games for Oakland, it would be a great way to bounce back from an extremely rough career. It would also piss off Bill Barnwell, Mike Schopp and several others...so that is a plus ?

My WR ranking through Week 1 of Camp.

The difference is that The Bills organization ...not HBO is putting out Embedded. PSE approves everything that we see and hear and might even work with the team to focus on certain ideas. That’s why there were cameras in the war room, and we didn’t see times when a players they wanted to draft was removed from the board. The Embedded edit made it look like the Bills got every player they wanted - it probably didn’t happen that way. Do you really think that Terry Pegula calls every undrafted free agent (on camera) ? Do you think Brandon Beane offers the highest salary to a rookie RFA’s agent (on camera)? Do you think that starting QB’s recruit every UFA? Probably not, but not only did this happen with Stills but it made the final cut. Also if this was more random, why would the Bills elect to share this footage? It would eliminate any chance of sneaking him on the practice squad. There’s a reason why they elected to go with this story. -
I’m cheering for Nate. Seems like a genuinely good guy....plus any Peterman success would piss of Bill “Historically Bad” Barnwell and co.

You must listen to Sal Capaccio because his order was identical. I don’t think that they keep 7 WR’s. I am thinking 6, and spot #6 is going to be a dog fight. One thing to keep in mind on Stills? They featured him on their web series and showed how the team gave him a full-court press and the maximum UFA contract to sign. As long as he doesn’t have a terrible preseason, I think there’s a good chance he gets the nod over McKenzie or Williams. -

That was a helluva speech -
Yannick will always be remembered for me as the guy who claimed Richie Incognito called him a racial slur. When asked what the slur was, Yannick responded “I can’t remember.”

I was listening to The Bills Beat with Joe B (who just joined The Athletic) and Matt Fairburn and they posed what seems to be a simple but somewhat interesting question: Which WR Will Lead The Bills In Receiving In 2019? The are a number of variables that make this question a little tricky. Below are the choices: Jon Brown: Probably the best WR on the roster and he will a lot of snaps. The problem with Brown is that he has been injury prone, and there’s a huge question make about his health and durability. Cole Beasley: Another WR who will see snaps, but he’s never been a yardage guy. He makes the clutch catches out of the slot and rarely has the explosive play. Robert Foster: Had a breakout year in 2018 but is a very similar WR to Brown. As a result he could be looking at a lower snap count or running routes where he’s the 3rd or 4th option. Zay Jones: He’s put up decent number for a WR but has seldom had a breakout game. Also he’s never amassed huge chunks of yardage. Other candidates who likely won’t see enough snaps or even make the team: Andre Roberts David Sills Jr Issac McKenzie Duke Williams So who do you vote for any why? https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-bills-beat-with-joe-b-and-matthew-fairburn/id1373776577#episodeGuid=tag%3Asoundcloud%2C2010%3Atracks%2F655939379
