Friendly reminder. CFL starts this weekend

Tommy Sweeney will be playing for them soon -
Where was y’all when OJ was found innocent? I was a middle school student when he went to trial and I really wanted to believe OJ was innocent. I remember in school, a teacher had us write down on a piece of paper what the verdict would be. If you got it correct, you received extra credit for the upcoming unit test. He talked to our class a little about the legal system and the trial, implying that it was obvious OJ was going to be found guilty and essentially said anyone who put down “not guilty” was an idiot. Most people believed their teacher. So because he was a former Bill, I wrote down “not guilty.” We had a TV in our room and after they read the verdict for the first count, he held up his finger so as to say “he was not guilty of the first charge, but watch...he’s guilty of the rest.” when he was innocent, some people in the class cheered. You could hear some other students running down the hallways celebrating, chanting, and banging on the lockers. As for my teacher, he was crestfallen. He talked quite a bit of trash about OJ before then and really thought he would be guilty. But he shook his head and kept saying “he got away with murder.” We have him a hard time about it for weeks after, not realizing the gravity of the situation. But he was an older guy but also pretty cool. Great teacher. I did get the extra credit and was one of the few who wrote down “not guilty.” But years later, I realize my teacher was probably right about OJ.

Welcome back, TE Keith Towbridge
Phil The Thrill replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I remember Keith made some silly comment on his IG when he was released. He said something like when the Titans play the Bills “I will put stamp on it.” Huh!?!?!? What the hell was that supposed to mean? I was told it was an insult and do wonder if he had to apologize to Brandon Beane before he resigned -
For this gem on YouTube. Rochester’s own Thaddeus Brown spends about 2 minutes talking about Josh allen and then rips Cody Ford. He says he doesn’t like the pick and that unless there’s an injury he can’t see Cody starting all season long. He just doesn’t seem to be much of a fan. I disagree with Thad here and have Ford pencilled in to start at one of the guard spots.

Speaking of TE’s Jason Croom is a good candidate for this list! -

Good stuff from our boy @RyanTalbotBills. If I were to put a ranking on who is under the most pressure, here’s how they would shake out: 1. Josh Allen - the face of the franchise. Buffalo has invested a lot in his development, some people might think Beane and McDermott’s jobs are tied to his success. He needs to show improvement this year. 2. Shaq Lawson - literally playing for a new deal. 3. Trent Murphy - could very well be playing for his job in 2020. There’s a good chance he gets cut from his deal if he doesn’t produce. 4. Zay Jones - Time is running out for Zay. If he doesn’t show improvement, he likely will get his option declined and is unlikely to be back in Buffalo. 5. Dion Dawkins - same as Zay. Only difference is that linemen clean up in free agency - especially someone who can play LT. If he leaves Buffalo, he’ll get a good deal elsewhere. I left McCoy off the list only because at his age, I don’t see more pressure than the others. Yes he wants to keep his career alive but I also think he quits before he lets himself struggle on the field. -
Who Was Better: Bruce Smith or Reggie White

I know - it’s not like a measles vaccine but it does reduce the chances. The rumor on here was that Bruce refused to get the flu shot. -

Did you refuse a flu shot like Bruce? -
This is well-stated. It’s Money Ball. So much of the resentment from the anti-Allen camp comes from the “football analytics” sites who feel their method of evaluation is superior over the traditional methods. Both parties are hell bent on providing their philosophy is correct. Like you said, if it was as simple as reading numbers, there would be no 7th rounders or UFA’s outperforming players drafted in higher rounds. Either way, I hope we do see progression from Mr. Allen

Brian Gaine fired as Texans GM
Phil The Thrill replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If absolutely bring him back in some capacity. He was given less than 2 seasons, which really is not fair. Texans were hardly a dumpster fire. That’s not going to happen -

No I just couldn’t tell. It wasn’t really the least bit humorous so I just wanted to check Or just demand they get a flu shot in the first place -

I’ve heard good things from beat reporters about his style and the intensity at OL in practice. Hopefully it translates to tha field
