  1. If the Bills break the bank on Josh now, pretty sure can't keep them all. We need some cap space analysis on this board stat. Does anyone know what Beane is up against if he has to spend $40m of his cap on Allen next year? That is the real issue here.. cap management. This will be by far the largest off season issue.. how much of this roster can be kept?
  2. Really depends to some degree on who they look to lose in FA . Its all about pass and defend the pass in this league, so pass rushers and O LIne could be key in the 1st for the Bills, depending on if Daryl Williams or Matt Milano are cap casualties, for example, due to Josh's monster contract trashing the Bills salary cap. Running backs are pretty much a dime a dozen in todays NFL. Especially for this team.
  3. Not a fan. No idea where it came from. But who cares, NFL fandom has become a bit of a circus show anyway. I focus on the game, not the fans.
  4. Disagree. I say light 'em up. They'll be doing it to us. Time to take the gloves off.
  5. Yeah, I'm a hundred years old so I remember it all. Bills were The Power in the AFC in the early 90's, plus the AFC was pretty weak at that time. So the Bills would blow through lighter-weight AFC teams (Phins, Raiders, Oilers, Chiefs) in the conference playoffs and then collide with bigger, stronger NFC teams with just as much firepower and meet their match. Eg. Redskins simply overpowered the Bills in the second of the 4 SBs.. wasn't. even a game. Parcells simply outcoached Levy in the first, played keepaway and won. Both of the Dallas games were won bc Bills turned the ball over like crazy and the Cowboys were bigger, stronger and beat up the Bills. The rules were different at the time and you could blow up WRs on crossing routes, etc. and the NFC teams did this. An oversimplification, for sure, go watch the games on YouTube, pretty interesting. Anyway, today's game is more like a game of flag FB than is was then. Quickness and speed win out ultimately over big and bad. So Chiefs/Bills likely to be more of track meet than the last Bills/Chiefs. If Mahomes is 100%, this game will be great.
  6. All part of the drought. Broadcasters haven't been in the stadium in Dec/Jan for 20 years. You forget. For all of us current or (me) former season ticket holders, every one knows the wind mostly roars from left to right the entire game, more and more the later in the season you get. I was explaining to my 20-something son how it works and by the end of the 3rd Q, he's like ".. righhhtttt, I get it now). Allen over throws by 10 yards going left to right, same thing for the Balt backup guy.. those were probably good balls without the wind. I've seen well struck right to left FG attempts miss for 40 years in that place in Dec/Jan. Bass expected his kick to get pushed right to left as it should have, but the wind laid down just when he hit it and it went straight. poor kickers.
  7. TL,DR Lookin like a team of destiny. Can't see 'em gettin past the Chiefs, but I've said that about 3 times this year and been wrong each time. Go Bills. Just enjoyin the ride at this point in the Process.
  8. Still hard to imagine we get past the Chiefs, but hey they were not favored by most to get past the Ravens either. They were one near turnover from getting back into the last KC game. They will compete, that is for sure. go Bills.
  9. This is what sticking to the process of constant roster building and playing who is playing the best get you. The wins just happen.
  10. ancient history. who gives a crap about sammy watkins fgs
  11. I don't pregame see a massive difference between last years game and this game. Whoever has the most possessions/creates more turnovers comes out on top on the scoreboard. Josh's fumble on the 20 last year was the difference in that game.
  12. we'll see when Covid ends and half their starters come back for next year
  13. the process continues. TJ Yeldon, while explosive and long striding and a pretty player to watch, is a limited player (eg. soft, weak in pass pro) , and historically a turnover risk (Jags). A Williams may have been showing out all season on the PS and just needed an opening. These coaches are committed to continually developing their roster and the players on it. They go with what they see, not a players years of experience, IMO. We shall see.
  14. Stills and Freeman will both be cut after the season. I think that's a safe bet.
  15. TL,DR Basically, if the Ravens stay true to form (blitz and play man), Josh will take off and make them pay, as he has with all others. If they blitz and play zone, Beasley cuts his route off and he catches 10 balls. Bills pretty much have the antedote to whatever the Ravens D chooses. Should be fun to watch.
  16. Agreed. Great if folks pick against the Bills, ie: " the process is still a work in process, still not sure about Josh, etc etc" . Then go out and win the game. Same as b4 the Seattle, Pittsburg, etc games. Beautiful.
  17. Simms is good to listen to. If he is critical of the Bills, he is serious , as he is totally supportive of the Bills and Allen in general. I always listen to him, the latest song and dance thing was stupid, but it was just a play on his man-crush on Allen. It's ok as it fits, if you've listened to him all season. Simms is strong and his viewpoints are usually solid. The guy played the game. He knows what he is looking at.
  18. Well, he IS a liability in pass protection, and had something of a fumbling history with other teams. He is basically a soft kind of player. Haven't seen Freeman, but if he is good, he was a monster in his prime. Who knows? Leave it to McBeanes. They have absolutely proven they know what they are doing personnel-wise.
  19. Just to show (again, I know) how far the Process has come: only 26 months ago; there we are tailgating outside M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore; 15-20 of us , all NoVa/Md relocated Bills fans excited for the season opening game after reaching the playoffs in 2017. Hadn't been to a game is several years. We invited a bunch of locals/neighbors to join the insanity , all proud of our tailgating prowess and our team. The wings, the beers, the pizza , the schwag ,the tents (pouring down rain), the tables, the works. How bad could it be, even though Tyrod was gone? Man could it be bad. Kelvin Benjamin, Zay Jones. Jeremy Kerley returning kicks instead of Andre Holmes (who was on the roster). And Nathan Peterman could not have been worse. We actually left in the middle of the 3rd quarter when it was 40 - 0 . Josh came in but it was mop up duty. One of the great (?) things about NFL Gamepass is you can go back and watch all the way back to 2011. I watched the replay of that game. Some of the guts of todays team played that day (milano, tre, edmunds, holmes, dion, poyer, hyde). I guess my point is I am still embarrassed about the display that day and although I rarely am immature enough to want revenge , but I really want revenge for that one. Last years game was only a warmup without Diggs , et al on the roster. I am hoping prime time Saturday night is where the Process delivers a payday/payback win in a big way. I want a beatdown.
  20. If the Colts game was close, this one will be just as close. Same style of opponent, but with a likely much more productive QB. Allen will need to be the difference. again. go bills
  21. um , no. when you've been carpetbagging around in your work for 20+ years and then someone wants to interview you for a a rare job that will assure you of as much $$ as you've made over those 20 years (combined) you say "where and when do I show up"
