  1. I think fans tend to overvalue fringe guys. Though I do think Kumerow and McK would get picked up quickly if cut. I would keep McK and if we can get anything in return for Kumerow would do it in a heartbeat. But would still be #4 or #5 type WR's on another team. Guys like Duke, Gentry, Powell are JAG's.
  2. Preseason. Evaluate the rookies and random guys. Don’t place too much judgement on anybody else.
  3. Bills - A win is a win; Close loss should have been a win. Other Teams - A loss is a loss; Close win should have been a loss.
  4. Dont get the 49ers love. I know they were destroyed by injuries last year so that is the basis for it all. But at the same time the NFC does kind of suck outside of TB. GB is always a threat but with the Rodgers drama who knows. Seattle is getting old. LAR have Stafford but who is he throwing to? So maybe it is between SF and TB.
  5. What is unpopular is not sticking with your team. You can have whatever opinions you want, but if the team philosophy is to focus on football and leave that stuff to yourself then you should do that. You are putting yourself first if you cannot do that.
  6. If McD has asked Cole to stop. This is going to get ugly. We know they have talked about it...
  7. Every year we have our Bills pre-season all stars. Many dont end up contributing much during the season or event making the roster. Predict your stars and if they will be contributors. My predictions: WR Isaiah Hodgins - Roster bubble; limited contribution RB Antonio Williams - Roster bubble; limited contribution LB Tyrell Adams - Rotational player CB Olaijah Griffin - Cut / PS
  8. I dont expect it either. But am not as confident as you that it is NOT going to happen. I give it maybe a 10% chance. Yes, he had a good year. But he is also 32 years old, coming off an injury and a potential distraction. The team has some young WR's and could make the business decision to let him go or look to trade him. I would not do it, just think guys actually making the decisions could.
  9. Some threats of suicide are illegitimate and manipulative used for attention. Wife is leaving him so he goes to "I will kill myself". To me this seems like a personal issue since he was driving to his in-laws house. Who knows what the deal is - marital issues blamed on in-laws? Wife said she is not going with him to Buffalo (haha) because her parents want her to stay close? Or something completely different - was drugged or used something he normally wouldn't; Was completely wasted like a 21yr old on their bday; Mental illness...
  10. Wheeler got out after three days following his court appearance. Sherman will be out after his court appearance as well.
  11. So many unknowns here. Was it his wife? Was it a girlfriend? Was an actual assault involved or did he not even make it in the house? More will come out. But there are plenty of good guys, smart guys, etc that get emotional when relationships or family get involved. So could be a number of situations in which he did something terrible or that he did nothing and was in a fight with his wife and she locked him out of the house. Much more to come...
  12. Door #3 is very likely. We see this time and time again when a guy is frustrated. We do not know what is going on is Beasley's head. He clearly feels strong enough to voice his opinion despite the "company line" to keep options to yourself and focus on football. So he could very well feel like the team does not have his back and decide to be "injured" quite often next year.
  13. Would not be completely shocked to see them cut Beasley. A bit more shocking than the McCoy move a few years ago but similar. Bills would save $5M this years and $6/7M next year. If they think McK/Sanders/M Stevenson can > Beasley they will do it. I would prefer to keep him for this year unless cutting him means adding some pieces. But not just to save $ and give other guys a shot. Save that for next year.
  14. Ertz update - google search came up with this. wish this were true. https://fingerlakes1.com/2021/07/07/buffalo-bills-reportedly-close-to-signing-te-zach-ertz-and-cb-steve-nelson/
  15. Allen is not “wired” to throw to WR’s. He is “wired” to be a QB. He will throw the ball to any target that gets open or can make plays. Your selling Allen short if you say he would not know how to utilize a TE.
  16. He was a good player. Seems like he may be hurt beyond repair. Likely retiring.
  17. WR is tough to pick. Your assumes Marquez Stevenson, Duke Williams, Kumerow lose out to Hodgins, McK. OL - Douglas, Lamp, Hart all cut. Another battle here and possible trade of one of them or someone on your list. DL - Zimmer cut and Johnson cut. Will be interesting. DB - Still think they bring in another CB and then someone on that list has to go.
  18. Personally I see better ways to spend the money. But at the same time - covering Diggs and a healthy Jones? With Beasley, Davis and Sanders...
  19. In no order: Ertz (trade not FA) Julio Jones (trade not FA) Sheldon Richardson Steven Nelson Brian Poole Melvin Ingram Richard Sherman Justin Houston KJ Wright Olivier Vernon Le'Veon Bell Malik Hooker Darqueze Dennard Tre Boston Kawann Short Jurrell Casey Geno Atkins Todd Gurley Kwon Alexander
  20. People always get confused with this. They think the money is lost forever and seem to forget about filing taxes at the end of the year when it is all evened out. I would expect all NFL paychecks are taxed at the highest tax rate on every paycheck. So they dont even have to worry about more being taken out of this check or that one.
  21. Its all taxed at the highest rate. We are talking about millions of dollars not a normal persons salary.
  22. I heard Star was out at Applebees and only tipped 5%...
  23. The Bills per Sportrac are at $8M right now at that includes $23M to JA. If he signs a LT deal it is easy to bring his 2022 number way down. Then you have guys like Morse, Star, Klein, Feliciano, Matakevich, etc that will be release candidates that easily put the Bills in the +$30M cap space range to make some moves.
  24. Mahomes is still the better QB. If Allen has two more years similar to last year then he will be in the same category. But I do think Allen is the right QB for how this team is designed. Allen at times plays the role of RB1 and I just dont see Mahomes being suited for that. If we did some roster maneuvers you could make a supporting cast better suited for Mahomes and that ceiling could be higher. But with this team, right now, Allen is the best for the job.
