Steps taken to solve last year's problems
ngbills replied to Arm of Harm's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would agree with this. And it can be viewed as being negative or being positive. On one you can say they did not do enough to get better NOW. But on the other is that we are already in position to sustain what started last year and this offseason helps that be 3+ years out as well. -
Cover 1 breakdown on Gregory Rousseau

I agree. Not a lot of technique or variety of moves to beat guys one on one. At this point, besides the rip, its trying to go around you and not giving up on the play. -
Haha. Ward is basically Wallace?

No starters from the draft? Not exactly true.
ngbills replied to TC in St. Louis's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Its kind of funny. I had this debate back in the day when the Bills were bad to average. Bills would have like 5 starters from a draft and folks on the message board would use that to say how great of shape the team was, the good job the GM was doing etc. My argument then which is the same now - just because your starting a guy does not mean he is good and future star. Sometimes its a sign that your team is bad and he is bad, just not as bad. Just like now, drafts picks may not start but does not mean they were bad picks. Just a higher level of player ahead of them. -
This thread has pointed out a few of the rules for posting on these boards: We are the experts above and beyond anyone else. Well, as long as it is positive towards the Bills and negative towards other teams. Thus positive takes on the Bills are genius and anything otherwise including positive on other teams is clueless. Even further, no negative views allowed on the Bills. This includes any criticism of players, coaches, decisions. On the flipside no positive take on another team because that is considered to be negative on the Bills. Everything the Bills do is earned and well deserved. Everything other teams do is lucky or not legit in some way. The Bills always could have done this or that if they wanted to. The moves the team makes are always good; The ones they don't either were dumb or have some obvious explainable reason why they did not. Players on the Bills, even the marginable ones are always the best. Once they leave the Bills they were obviously awful the team they went to is overpaying. We are always either building/following the process and not one player away, already have the best roster so dont need anything, or impacted by bad luck that will be different next year.

They are likely on phone looking for a taker for Addison. Not sure there will be a taker though.

From Buffalorumblings. Some interesting takes on the cuts. I always find it interesting when free agent signing are cut especially when they were hyped to be big contributors. Also the expectations around late draft picks, though this FO does favor its own guys. Some tough choices, though I still think our DB and LB are weak, plus not much at DT1 so would not be surprised to see some vet signings. https://www.buffalorumblings.com/2021/5/3/22417105/buffalo-bills-53-man-roster-projection-depth-chart-following-2021-nfl-draft Cuts: QB: Davis Webb RB: Christian Wade, Antonio Williams WR: Isaiah Hodgins, Tanner Gentry, Jake Kumerow, Brandon Powell, Duke Williams TE: Nate Becker OL: Bobby Hart, Forrest Lamp, Jordan Devey, Jamil Douglas, Jack Anderson (essentially all of our OL free agents) DL: Bryan Cox Jr., Darryl Johnson, Mike Love, Efe Obada, Brandin Bryant, Harrison Phillips, Justin Zimmer (Obada had a brief stint as our best edge guy) LB: Marquel Lee, Andre Smith DB: Cam Lewis, Josh Thomas

The game was very close. Yes, 19-3 looked like this was going to be a blowout. Even without the Fumble the 19-10 still would have looked like Chiefs were dominating. 2nd half was a different story even before Mahomes was hurt. Browns drive down 70 yards and score a TD to make it 19-10. Then hold KC to FG, 4th straight drive with a FG or nothing. Mahomes now gets hurt and its 22-10. CLE drives 70 yards again and scores so its 22-17 (Mahomes does not play D). CLE then gets the INT and it is looking like could win the game. KC is able to hold on with Henne and some luck on their side. But CLE had all the momentum for a big part of this game and almost stole it.

The bolded says it. The Bills typically need Allen to ball to win. If Allen is balling and Baker is balling my money is on the Bills. If Allen is not, then the Browns beat us with a running game.

If only the NFL always followed in the order of who has the best QB. Until Josh Allen is better than Mahomes we never have a chance. Rodgers and GB must have been in every super bowl the past 5-10 years. it is hard to argue against teams around us improved more than we did. CLE most definitely did and a wild card is if OBJ can contribute as well. MIA always added a lot of pieces though is not scary and more limited with Tua.

Bills 2021 Draft - Overall Assessment
ngbills replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thing is we can’t keep all these OL. Some will have to go. We have 17 OL on the roster now and that does not include UDFA we bring in. We will keep 9-10. Some low level guys can be PS - UDFA and Anderson, maybe Doyle would not get picked up? Locks: Dawkins, Williams, Morse, Feliciano Near Locks: Ford, Brown Final 3-4: Bates, Lamp, Douglas, Hart, Boettger, Devey, Doyle, Anderson, Harrison, Walton Lamp, Douglas, Hart, Bates, Harrison and Boettger have all started in this league. So its not as simple as we added all these OL, some have to go so what is that difference? Maybe short term your worse actually. Who knows. But it’s not 1+1= 3. -

Good, but not as good even better if we had a starting edge, CB2, TE and future FS/SS and some OL depth. -
Bills 2021 Draft - Overall Assessment

Its just a defensive statement. We make a move to get Diggs and its great move, we are in it to win it. We dont make the big move and it's you need to focus on the long term and follow the process. I can guarantee you the people that are saying they love this draft and it makes perfect sense, would be saying the same thing head we traded tons of picks and went the opposite route, but said we are in win now mode and needed impact players, the 3-7 round picks the next few years will never make the roster anyway, etc. etc. -

I am referring to peoples takes here. The bills can most definitely pay josh and have other nice things. Fans just try to justify opinions.
