Tons of NFL players are whack jobs. Part of the job of the coach and the leaders of the team is to bring it all together. Hard to say if situations when it doesnt work out are on the player or the team culture. Likely somewhere in the middle. The routes dont seem to be ones that generate separation. I dont have all 22 so cant speak for every play. But it seems most of the times our routes are not even run at full speed. They are hooks into zones and comebacks, they are short slow hitches. It seems like every play is designed for the ball to go to a primary target and everyone else is a safety valve just standing in a spot. Then you have the two and three guys in the same area. It looks like a mess. Would love to sit in on the meetings to see if this mess is by design or if there is something not translating. Because at this point our offense success comes from good running game by Cook, Allen scrambles and runs or Allen scrambles around and we hit the backyard football pass. Rarely do we see success in the passing game that looks in rhythm - Josh sees guy throws ball to open receiver (unless its the wr screen of course).

There was a time when we used to spread the field and run the ball. You put guys out wide and the D has to bring guys with them. Now we like to pack everyone in bunch formations. I don’t get it. And it’s not just in our run plays. How many times on passing plays do you see two or more guys running in the same area. It’s like Brady has no concept of space. Let’s send two guys the same space so not only do those defenders go with them but the safety has an easier job helping.

These extensions are starting to look bad - Milano, Knox, Bernard, Benford, Rousseau, Oliver, Johnson and even Shakir. The Cook deal is one of the best and they resisted doing it.
