  1. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/nyheim-hines-25205/ It's looking like a 1-year deal that will have to wait to see if they keep him in 2024. I think that has more to do with our OC than Nyhiem.
  2. He would average $20M per for the 4 years left. Most likely BS but the site would crash if it happened.
  3. LOL. I was just going to reply the exact same thing. Just about every team has holes to fill and has to put money where they think it needs to go.
  4. Morse is playing this year. The time to move on is next March. I have to admit I'm not sold on Bates at C. I want to see how McGovern does in camp.
  5. If that is truly their thought process, then Beane has to draft another OL player this year. Maybe a college RT that could move to RG. It would be great if he can find that kind of guy in the 3rd. He wouldn't need to immediately start this year.
  6. He started 2022 with an ankle injury and was also moved around the line from C to G with all of the Cowboys OL injuries.
  7. Good. It's time for a younger backup QB. Hopefully one that fits and stays for a while.
  8. It has to be. Bills got the G from Dallas.
  9. He's a good young IOL who has had a number of injuries. My hope is that those injuries end in Buffalo. Good swing of the bat by Beane.
  10. Exactly. The money isn't crazy and it's all about how he fits/performs. Way to go Beane, I hope this is a hit!
  11. Davenport and Onyemata also are costing them $18M in dead money this year! That's a great "system" they got going on there.
  12. But money is no object for the Saints. I'm confused.
  13. I would be shocked. His contract is perfectly set up for some sort of change in 2025 (the peak of his current contract cap hit). Technically, this is the 1st year of his 6-year contract extension. I give an extension a 1% chance of happening.
  14. Yes, but it's not coming with an extension. It will be a simple conversion of base pay to signing bonus.
  15. No way. Beane does this every year. He only restructures when he needs to and it's always close to the last minute. Beane is not going to restructure a bunch of contracts and have a lot of space on the books, then go shopping. Beane restructures as he signs players.
  16. I'm sorry but I don't agree. I really liked Woods and leaving "blocking" out of a WR duties, Kumerow couldn't hold a candle to Robert.
  17. Do fans really want to go back to a Matt Haack type punter or another crappy holder? SMH.
  18. Agree. If they can get him the ball the way he did in 2020 it will be a good deal. Nyhiem is a niche player. I get the feeling it's more on our young OC to get him the ball than Nyhiem himself.
  19. Well, I knew that there was a good chance they would re-sign Martin. Sounds like the money is fair for him. I will hold off until I see the contract on Dirty Red. I don't mind the signing IF that means a couple of the other "ST only" guys do not make the final roster. I believe that Siran Neal does not make the final 53. He probably will go to camp and get cut when they are sure the new S takes his place. Time to move on from Taiwan Jones too. No more Kumerow types for ST too.
  20. But it can't be. People in this thread already have Beane trading up for Bijan. Johnson seems the type of guy they need. If he can be there in middle of Day 3, I could go for it.
  21. Next year Dion will be 30 and it is the last year of his contract. His cost probably will be pushing $20M per year or more. A decision will have to be made next year at OBD as to his future. It may be a tough one. IF and it's a big IF, Dion "at that time" says he would be willing to move to G for lower pay there is some merit to this idea. I think it's a year too early to consider any of this, but fans have to realize that these contracts roll over pretty quickly and Beane and company have to factor all this stuff in continuously. FWIW, Milano, Taron Johnson and Morse (if he's still with the team) are all up the same year. I say the last part to offset the "cap always goes up" talk with the reality that the cost of keeping your own also increases.
  22. I also expect a redone contract as soon as he signs. Good chance it was agreed upon before the trade was done.
  23. I'll admit I don't know what is going on now with all of this.
  24. Not knowing how the young people use social media, it sounds like he might not be too happy right now. Maybe the Houston Texans want him back home for one of their 3rds?
  25. It's why during all this contract stuff I don't feel sorry for him. I've said this already too many times, he could have signed a bigger contract than Josh right after Allen signed. Allen has money in the world of finance working for him. Lamar, not so much. Allen has endorsements and will get a lot more. Lamar, not near as many as an MVP should. Allen can play football and not worry about money. Lamar, well.............. Allen suffers a career ending injury, he's still set for life. Lamar, not near as much as Josh. I truly just don't get him. He's not doing himself any favors AND the team that took a chance on him and set him up to succeed.
