  1. The money is part of it for me, but the bigger thing is the gameday roster limit. Typically, it hasn't hurt the Bills, but it did last year. This thread will be great to look at once the team gets filled out and ready for camp. Then a comparison can be made if anything has changed.
  2. Good thread and great info @MJS. I too was going to bring up the Kumerow thing. I am not an anti-STer. I do think it will be pared back some this year. Lots against the Dirty Red re-sign, but not me. I also think Siran Neal will not make the 53 this year. Zayne Anderson will likely replace him for cheaper. Beane will keep a ST core, but I think they will also play a better role as depth.
  3. I agree it was structured with that in mind. It is more of a risk after his injury. I for one will be very hopeful on his recovery!
  4. I don't mind it at all. He is the captain of the STs and is pretty good at it. Having a couple of ST'ers is fine with me. It's the 5 or more that get me aggravated. I tend to agree with you, but it's done. He's a 4-year contract now. If his play falls way off Beane will just have to eat the money and move on. Truthfully, I was a little shocked they restructured him fully. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/von-miller-7717/
  5. Cam Lewis is not costing cap space. He is no different than when the Bills sign a bunch of UDFAs after the draft.
  6. They are going to have to take another $1.7M or so off when Phillips and Saffold's void years move to dead money and 2 low tier guys go on the 51. Good news Beane is under the cap and has some working capital. I could see another restructure for some smaller $s if he needs it.
  7. Spotrac has the restructure $ in. Also already has the Hines and Settle redo's and Sam Martin. Bills now with $15M They have Milano still at $13M. But it will be $6M less. Don't have McGovern, Dirty Red and Lewis. But that seem to be a wash with the Milano savings. Just about $15M in cap space when all this washes out. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/cap/
  8. I haven't heard the Milano 2023 cost of $6M, but if that is correct, I add things up to around $16M. So, we are in sync.
  9. There are a lot of angry Bills fans on this board right now. I think I'll take a break. Beane spent the day negotiating a Cam Lewis contract for vet minimum. I'm done with this team. sarcasm.
  10. It would be nice to have a guy a little better than both of those.
  11. Ralph is cheap. Beane is foolish signing VERSATILE players. Am I doing this right?
  12. Oliver will be another if he thinks he is getting north of $10M per year on a multi-year contract. I'm not worried about Diggs and his performance this year.
  13. Not at all. DC needed to change. D was stale. If 1 or even 2 players want to move out of 53+, it's no big thing.
  14. My comment was on his season and injury. I should not have even posted something about PFF. I am never going to base players on that system. I will have to live with the NFL teams and their staff to make judgements. My philosophy is to fill holes with mid-level FAs and use the draft to find long term players. Chasing big name FAs (especially IOLs) is risky at best. Their play is tough to measure due to the "teamwork" needed. Cowboys OL was decimated with injuries last season. Beane (I hope) uses some draft capital to add to the OL.
  15. Aaron Rodgers is "tampering" with the Jets.
  16. I believe it was highlighting his athletic ability. At least that is how I took the comment.
  17. You're right. I read it more as at his age of 34 if his play wasn't good, they can get out cheap. I actually thought he would cost a little more with more guarantee. I like the signing and hope he plays well for 3 years.
  18. You're looking at this backwards. Beane will sign the players he wants and they agree to terms. He will free up what he needs after that. None of us will know (including agents and players) how much he is willing to restructure. IMO, it's the smart way to do it.
  19. Come on. Cam Lewis was no doubt already told as an RFA he wouldn't get a tender (and he didn't). His agent probably knew that if Cam couldn't find another team the Bills would bring him to camp on a vet minimum deal. Cam and his agent jumped on it. This signing means nothing. Beane wasn't worried one way or another about Cam Lewis.
  20. We will have to wait to hear Beane speak on him. I for one am not sold on Bates moving to C. He's capable as a backup but I don't think he is a starter. If McGovern has a better shot at the C next year (I think it's Morse's last season) that could be an option. I still think a college RT who can move to RG may be the pick that is smart this year.
  21. The guy started the season with a bad ankle and was used in multiple positions on an injury riddled Cowboy line last year. I think Bills fans should wait at least until camp to trash him. LOL. His PFF numbers in 2021 were better btw.
  22. The Bills need to get at least 1 this year and another next year.
  23. No, but Poyer, Phillips, Singletary and others will get signed.
  24. The Bills and the Chiefs are spending the same amount of money on the OL this season (so far).
  25. Camp body who hopefully ends up on the PS. Nothing to see here. He was a RFA who wasn't given a tender. I say vet minimum deal with a tiny signing bonus.
