  1. Maybe. But as others have stated, do you remember some of the Ducks Peyton would throw?
  2. They obviously want a look, especially if they’re pretty certain Rosen & Darnold will be gone by pick #5. I still see the Broncos signing Cousins.
  3. Agree. A group with Benjamin, A Rookie (Washington?), Zay Jones, Moncrief & Thompson would be a decent group
  4. Low end: Pryor or Moncrief All out: Allen Robinson on a one-year prove-it deal.
  5. Was last season. Could see him getting pissed off at him if they block his path up the NFL ranks. Also, Wentz being more established might give them more comfort in letting him move on. Lastly, the organizations connections to McDermott might make them more comfortable that he’s going to a good organization with a solid foundation. just speculation on my part... hopeful speculation.
  6. Could see Dorsey coming as QB coach. He’s dealt with Newton so he could probably deal with any type of personality...
  7. Having Dennison really seemed to take the wind out of the sails for quite a few guys on offense. But what guys might be on the rebound? my number one candidate is John Miller. He was solid his rookie year, and struggled to even get on the field this year. I think he’s a candidate for a major rebound this year.
  8. I expect them to be similar to last year in free agency. One of DT or DE will be addressed with a decent free agent pickup though (at least my opinion). I think Glenn will be dealt. He’ll get us a 3rd, maybe an extra 5th as well. Something to that effect. Lorenzo and Incognito will be kept, unless Incognito has issues stemming from the statements he allegedly made during the Jacksonville game. Taylor is the enigma. I think he’ll have more value if the Bills decide to eat the bonus. But I think they’ll know what his value around the league is by that time, and if they can get a 3rd rounder, I could see them eating the $6M and trading him afterwards. There are a lot of quarterbacks available, but Cousins is the only sure thing. Minnesota will likely keep Keenum. Bradford is an injury risk. Bridgewater hasn’t played in about 2 years. McCarron might be restricted if he loses his case against the Bengals (and it’s speculated he will). Alex smith will likely cost more, but is 6yrs older and will cost more against the cap if he’s dealt. Bortles might dumped, but who wants that? Drew Brees could be a possibility but I think it’s more than likely he stays in New Orleans. So the free agent QB market might not be as deep as we all think. Taylor might not be better than some of those guys, but he’s tounger than many, and has been healthier than most, doesn’t make mistakes, and has the ability to throw deep, and make plays with his legs as well.
  9. I don’t think there’s any way Indy does a deal like that, it would have to be something around our two 1st’s this year and likely another 1st from 2019. I’m not paying that for a guy who I really love but whose shoulder might be shot. He played too recklessly and it’s biting him back real hard. McCoy might not be our quarterback of the future, but he’ll be our quarterbacks best friend when we find one.
  10. Tyrod Taylor Cordy Glenn Shaq Lawson Jerry Hughes these seems to be the main names that come up as cap casualties or trade candidates. What type of value (in form of draft pick) do you believe could be received in trading each player?
  11. The funny thing is that one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history three ducks... whatever works I guess
  12. Marcus Davenport & Harrison Phillips. Davenport is 6’7” 265, And is seen as a major riser among draft experts. Could be taken with one of our 1st round picks, or possibly a 2nd round pick. He fits what McDermott is looking for physically as well, Big, Long, lean, and mobile. Phillips is an underrated pass rusher. At Stanford this year he had over 90 tackles, 14.5 for a loss, and 7.5 sacks. His junior season he had 46 tackles, 10 for a loss, and 7 sacks. I feel like he’s the type of player that will fall because his measurables won’t meet his production, but he’s the type of guy I could see fitting in very well in a McDermott system. He could likely be had with one of our 2nd round picks or even our 3rd rounder.
  13. I like him, and I think the organization does too. He’s improved every year. He’s completed over 62% of his passes every season except as a true freshman (3 games and was around 57%). He doesn’t have a rocket arm, but has enough to make every throw, and is accurate downfield. He has has a good throwing motion, and quick release, things that help with accuracy and are more difficult to change than footwork. Most of his innacurate throws can be blamed on bad footwork. With simple changes here he can be a better player. He can’t be blamed for the system he plays in. He played great in that system. If he’s smart enough (which I think he is), he’ll be able to adjust and learn a new system (although I would say to let him sit for at least half a season). He has good pocket presence, knows when to step up in the pocket. To me I think he’ll be the 2nd or 3rd best QB in the draft. Darnold has great intangibles but has small hands that will lead to more fumble issues, a wonky throwing motion, which leads to a slow release. I personally put a lot of emphasis on a Quarterbacks release time. If they get rid of it quick they’ll be more likely to succeed (ball reaches its point faster, less chance of taking sacks, etc.) Mayfield has the height issues, and doesn’t make enough throws inside the pocket in my opinion. A lot of his stuff is roll outs and the type of stuff they tried to use here in the past with Tyrod. He’s going to get pressured to much on the edge in the NFL versus college. Also if Rudolph gets ripped for playing in a spread, Mayfield also plays in a spread, so what’s the difference. Also Mayfield has one of the best offensive lines in college football and doesn’t deal with a lot of pressure in his face. This doesn’t touch on his off-field issues (the arrest) or potential for on-field issues (crotch grabbing at Kansas, flag spiking at Ohio st., and “throat slice gesture”, before eventually losing to Georgia).
  14. I think Davenport is going to be one of the biggest sleepers in the draft. He’s got production, experience, strength and seems to have developed a good amount of counter moves as well when rushing the passers, not to mention decent speed on off the edge. To me Rudolph could be one of the top-3 QB’s in this draft. He has good arm strength, is accurate for the most part and goes through progressions. Most of his passes that are off target are do to bad footwork. Any QB going from any type of college offense will need to do some pretty hefty training on their footwork as is, so I don’t see it as an issue. Also, he has a nice throwing motion and quick release, two traits I really liked and the Patriots really liked when Garoppolo was coming out as well. Get these two in the first, James Washington & Harrison Phillips in round 2. Josey Jewell in Round 3, and Troy Fumagalli in Round 4. If they can manage another 3rd in a trade of Taylor or Glenn, get a RB like Penny there. With the two 5th round picks grab a developmental NT, and a CB for depth. If we sign a quarterback to stand in front of Rudolph for a year, let him develop a bit, we could be in good shape. A guy like McCarron or Bridgewater could be an upgrade over Taylor for a year.
  15. Went to over the cap and they had us at $39.25M in projected cap space. looking at Tyrod and Corey Glenn in particular, if each were traded before June 1st, we would save $10.4M on Tyrod (about $8M of his $18M would still be on the books). Glenn being traded during that period would save us $4.85M which would take us to $54M in cap space. Anyone with a better idea of the cap, does this sound reasonably correct? $54M is a nice chunk to work with. Could add a mid-level QB, and a couple $8M-$10M players and still have enough to re-sign our guys and have some change leftover I believe. Not that I expect the team to make any Huge Free Agent deals, but I could definitely see them bringing in a higher end defensive tackle (Lotulelei/Poe/Dorsey), and maybe a veteran tackle as well
  16. Draft Rudolph, sign a QB (Bridgewater or Bradford or Keenum or McCarron) add pieces to surround the new QB’s and strengthen the trenches on both sides of the ball. In free agency add depth, maybe go after someone like Star Lotulelei to help the run defense, along with some depth in the defensive backfield.
  17. Whaa??? For a 34yr old that they need to ditch to save money and in order to make way for their young gun slinger? They’ll get a 2019 2nd rounder, if they’re lucky. The age, and the fact that he’s a cap burden is what hurts Smith’s value. Teams could refuse to offer anything substantial prompting the Chiefs to just cut Smith in a cap saving move.
  18. I’m hoping McCarron becomes a UFA, he could be a decent fit here in this offense. Bridgewater or Keenum are also options. I wouldn’t trade picks for a guy like Smith, he’s too old. Unless it was less than a 3rd, and it won’t be.
  19. 1 QB 2 OL 3 DL 4 LB 5 TE (Clay gets banged up too often and O’Leary is Meh) 6 RB (they should’ve given Murphy some touches today)
  20. Could see him being a target for the Cardinals. Middle of the 1st Round. Rosen/Darnold/Mayfield are likely fine by that time. I could see teams preferring Jackson’s upside over Allen’s.
  21. I’m excited to see the senior bowl QB’s. Mayfield, Rudolph etc (is Allen going? I think it possibly depends on whether or not he finishes some final college credits), et. Al. It’ll be the best senior bowl in a long time
  22. Agree with this. You can’t take the chance that someone trades up to #3 to grab another QB. Then you go from having your choice to taking the 4th Quarterback. It’s unlikely of course, but if Cleveland traded out of #1, it could happen.
