  1. I do wonder if he slips because teams worry about his personality and leadership traits. He might need to ace the interviews. But I could also see a team like the Browns feeling that an opinionated guy like this might be exactly what they need to run their franchise. regardless I think Darnold goes 1st, Rosen goes top-10.
  2. I would say 4 weeks is a while. A good month of regular season games just to see the play live from the sidelines, how the calls are made, how an offense is run, etc. But I agree with you for the most part. And I totally agree on the point of a developmental league. They really need it. It would be really cool.
  3. Well Wentz did, and Watson started in what, week 2? But Trubisky and Goff both sat for a while before starting. It’s not as common as it used to be, but i can still see the benefits to doing it.
  4. The play that did it for me was the 4th & 2 on what, the NE 5yd line? They have Tyrod drop back, he has a rush coming from his left side, with his own lineman still making an effort. Instead of stepping up, INTO the pocket, and making s decisive throw, he drops his eyes, and COMPLETELY bails out of the pocket, which allows the edge rusher on the other side to have an easier path to pressure him. at this point he tries to make a maneuver and run up the sideline, but seeing he has no options throws it out of bounds... I like the guy, he tries, and he’s a good character person in the room. But he’s not a quarterback that can do what needs to be done in big games. i don’t care which one it is, but I’ll take my chances on ANY one of Darnold, Rosen, Allen, Mayfield, Rudolph, Lock or even Jackson before another year of Tyrod. and for a year to give that rookie time to sit I’ll go after one of the Minnesota guys (Bridgewater, Bradford, Keenum in that order).
  5. I agree with you on most of it. I just think Rudolph has some potential, but that’s just my estimate. I could be totally wrong. honestly I’m hoping the Giants amaze everyone and either trade down or take Barkley and the Bills are able to move up and take Darnold. It’s a hope and a dream, but it’s possible.
  6. All of the guys coming out have their inconsistencies. -Rosen forced things and put UCLA in bad positions when trying to do too much. -Darnold turned the ball over on an average of almost 1per game and had I believe 8 fumbles? That’s a real concern. -Allen couldn’t complete 60% of his passes, played down against any real competition, and seems to have a tough time making the easy throws. -Mayfield has had his issues not so much with his play, but with the off-field issues and the crotch-grabbing incident and the flag staking in Ohio St. And while people constantly complain about the system Rudolph plays in, Mayfield also plays in a similar spread system, so his numbers can be questioned as wel in that regard. -Drew Lock lead the FBS in TD passes with 40+, but struggled with accuracy as he completed less than 60% of his passes, and seemed to put up big numbers against lesser opponents. (Threw him in there because I believe there’s a decent chance he’ll come out as well).
  7. Exactly. That’s what I meant was to get a veteran to put in front of a rookie for a year, or possibly two. Someone like Bridgewater might become your franchise guy, but I wouldn’t be upset about that if he did
  8. I like Rudolph a bit more than most as well. I was watching someone on YouTube analyze their game with Oklahoma, and Mayfield is making throws and there’s no one near him. Rudolph is throwing to guys and they are covered. He makes the hard throws look easy, the sideline passes, the deep balls, and I think as he gains experience in an nfl system he has enough touch on the ball to make those simple dump off type throws in the 5-10 yd range as well
  9. I think the Bills will do the same. There will be so much QB movement this year we could end up with one of the Minnesota QB’s, McCarron if he’s available, possibly a guy like Alex Smith if he becomes available.
  10. I’d go after... DT- Star Lotulelei (run stuffer we need) CB- TJ Carrie (cheap DB depth & versatility) QB- Teddy Bridgewater/Sam Bradford/AJ McCarron If he becomes a UFA Also on a side note, I would look into dealing for Jabrill Peppers from the Browns. Gregg Williams has been playing him 25-30yards off the ball as a FS. In reality he should be a SS, or even more so seems like he could be a fit in McDermott’s scheme as an OLB, similar to what they did with Thomas Davis. Maybe something around Shaq Lawson if they don’t believe he’s the right fit with Cleveland potentially adding something small?
  11. CB- TJ Carrie- Oakland underrated in my opinion. Has played on the outside, in the slot, free safety and strong safety. I could see him being an under the radar signing. Similar to a Hyde/Poyer but even more low key. Could add some nice depth behind White/Gaines and battle for the #3 spot. Vontae Davis as well. Older guy but was cut by the Colts due to injury issues, could see him being a guy brought in to add some cheaper depth as well. If I’m the Bills, Lotulelei is my number one target. He can be the nose tackle we need in there.
  12. Just out of curiosity, could these have been the scouts from when Whaley was here? Or was that crew gone by then? Justnout of curiosity. Also, I could see Buffalo really liking Rudolph as well as Darnold. Similar in that they both have prototype size, good character traits, seem relatively intelligent, etc.
  13. If they tried something crazy like going after Cousins, I would do it. But it’s extremely unlikely considering that he’s already their property and how he’s played.
  14. Lotulelei is someone they should definitely look into. I’m not in favor of paying big money for a guard. There seems to be a lot of O-Line talent in this years draft, grab some guys there, could definitely see Quenton Nelson slipping that low, or Billy Price, or Hernandez from UTEP, or a guy like Ragnow who might slip from being out a good portion of the season.
  15. I would like a bigger backup tight end. Someone like Fumagalli front Wisconsin in the 4th Round would be a nice add if we could do it. 6’6” is hard to miss, and with the offense they want to run is like another TE option. With Clay’s health usually in question, I’d like a backup more suitable to start and more depth as well.
  16. I think one other interesting player, if he decides to come out, will be Drew Lock, could see him falling somewhere in the Mayfield/Allen/Rudolph/Jackson group.
  17. You think this group led by McDermott & Beane would touch Mayfield? I just don’t see them wanting his personality on this team at all.
  18. Hypothetically, getting up to pick #7 or so (let’s assume the Bengals & Jets are around #8 & #9. Pick 7 is worth 1500pts. Lets say Buffalo gets lucky, and makes the playoffs, but loses, they pick 22nd, good for 780pts. Also assume for arguments sake, the Chiefs Pick is 25th, 720pts. That’s actually exactly 1500pts. A team like the Bears May want a receiver, but might not want to pick one at #7. Colts, Buccaneers, 49’ers, etc are all solid candidates. And our 2019 1st Round Pick might even be considered more valuable to a team like the Bears if they want to see how Trubisky is in year 2 and decide whether to build around him further for year 3, or cut their losses and use additional Draft capital to make moves for another quarterback.
  19. I have a feeling that the draft situation will go something like this... Darnold goes 1. Rosen goes 2. Broncos get Cousins (they want to win another super bowl before that defense is too old). Buffalo trades up with Chicago (our earliest 1st this year, and our 1st in 2019) to jump ahead of the Jets & Cardinals, and take Josh Allen. If they need to they’ll jump ahead of the Broncos to do that as well.
  20. James Washington? He always seems to make plays. I know part of that can be put on the system, but the guy plays outside and seems to be able to consistently make big plays. Also a senior, definitely a guy I could see them go after in the 2nd Round.
  21. All for a Quarterback, whatever it takes. My preference is Darnold. i think Rosen and Mayfield are lower on their board than most people’s boards. If it cant be Darnold, I’d go after Lock/Rudolph/Allen. Allen has is critics, but the kid has some insane tools.
  22. Possibly, I’m not sure, just guessing, so you could totally be right. To me there’s two differences. 1. Rosen hasn’t had off-field issues that I know of, and certainly not to the degree Mayfield has. 2. The physical characteristics couldn’t be more different. 6’4” versus 6’0” I would imagine is a big deal to McDermott and Beane who have talked repeatedly about a guy being able to “stand tall in the pocket”, etc etc
  23. I’m inclined to agree to a point. Not 100% of course, but I think the Giants are a team with a lot of interesting needs, but also a lot of interesting talent. If Beckham isn’t hurt this season, Manning looks a lot better, their record is likely closer to .500, and they’re looking at building young pieces around Eli. As as it stands now, not giving Webb a start makes me think they’ll wait for their new management team to make the call, which also makes this an uncertainty as well. I Could see them wanting to put another young guy (2nd Round or later) along with Webb to play behind Manning instead of using that valuable of a pick on a guy if they think Manning has a couple of years left with the right situation around him. The conventional wisdom is that new management likes to bring in their own quarterback (kind of like the Bills are trying to do). But it’s also being rumored that David Gettleman, the former Panthers GM who worked a long time for the Giants. So for him, he was there when they traded for Manning (he was technically drafted first by the Chargers in that draft). So they might want to try to ride Eli fora year with a healthy Odell, and even if they stayed at two, selected Barkley and gave Eli what Big Ben has in Antonio Brown and La’veon Bell. Add a couple offensive linemen to that and you could have a really interesting offensive group. Also, regarding their organizational values, they really seem to value consistency & continuity. Blowing it up, by cutting/trading Manning, drafting a rookie at #2 just doesn’t seem like their M.O. Manning has a no-trade clause. I doubt the Giants want to cut him and get nothing for him. If he wants to try to finish up his career as a Giant, he might be able to force the issue for another year or two. The possibility of trading down should also also be appealing to a new GM taking over a new organization only a couple months before the draft. Most of the league has front offices and scouting departments that have been together an entire year scouting the upcoming draft class. Having more shots at the board is always helpful. And the possibility of something like receiving three 1st Round picks and a player (Glenn) at a position of need is a pretty enticing offer indeed. Especially getting a new front office and coaching staff together and watching Darnold/Rosen on tape, they showed warts. Rosen forcing passes, trying to play self proclaimed “hero ball”. Darnold with some odd mechanics and high rate of interceptions, along with turnovers in general? To me the Giants are the most interesting team in the draft. They could do anything. Take a QB? Makes sense. Take a skill position guy like Barkley? Makes sense Trade down? Makes sense. But overall, I think they’re a conservative organization (from an ownership perspective), and won’t take the risk in a QB while Manning still has any gas left in the tank, especially considering Odell was injured all year.
  24. I just don’t think he’s what the Bills are looking for, just his personality and how he carries himself. They seem frown upon guys who could be viewed as an “attention seeker” or “high maintenance”, not to mention off field issues, along with physical height. I feel like he’s low the board of what they’re looking for. guys that will be high: Darnold Rosen Allen Lock Rudolph - those to me are the 5 guys they’ll target to different degrees.
