  1. I the point is that the Bills have more belief that Allen can become Newton than Rosen can become Rodgers/Brady.
  2. To me, the kid is really smart, and calculated. I wonder how much of this is him saying it because it’s what he’s “supposed to say”. If he said “I’m just happy to be picked by a team that wants me”, people would be ripping him for being complacent, uncompetitive, etc etc.
  3. It’s a comparison I’ve seen thrown around. I’ve also seen “mobile Joe Flacco”. Highest end could, possibly be Roethlisberger... Getting back to the point, does that seem valid, the Newton comparison? To me its valid. He’s more raw, reminds me of Newton when he came to Auburn. The raw athleticism is there. The benefit is he has experience playing in a “pro-style” offense, under center. He might not be as mobile, but his arm might actually have more talent. So a less mobile stronger armed cam Newton? Andif that’s what he becomes, I’ll be more than happy.
  4. My hope: #12, #56 and 2019 2nd to Colts for #6. #6 & #22 to Giants for #2
  5. At the same time, if Dilfer doesn’t really know the guy, he’s just going off of what he hears in the media, i.e. he was with New England for a long time and learned college offense in Alabama. He didn’t have much detail then that and we all knew that if we watched the Nationals Championship Game. Also, regarding his, and some others interviews on QB’s (him and Jordan Palmer specifically), I take what they say with a grain of salt. Dilfer knows Rosen from his camp and therefore to an extent is invested in his success. Can’t remember if Darnold was there too, but I believe so. Same goes for Palmer and any of these guys when discussing the QB’s they’ve worked with. The higher the QB goes, the better their resume looks to people who want to sign up.
  6. I would’ve said Jewell... but Warner is a really good choice. I would say those two are the closest to a sure bet.
  7. I’d be more concerned about concussions. He has the highest floor to me, and the 2nd highest upside. He’s sill young enough that he’ll grow into his frame more. I would think the Bills would be leery about the concussions, but then again, some guys fail one teams physical, but pass another. So maybe the Bills doctors aren’t as concerned. But concussions are a tricky thing. I do see it as a positive that he’s still playing after those injuries. He’s a smart kid, whose family has money enough that he doesn’t need it. His parents are both doctors (I believe neurosurgeons?) so if it was a real health risk I could see him not wanting to take his career any further.
  8. Mayfield goes 3, no matter who’s there. He’s the Jets guy. Darnold, Allen, Rosen, doesn’t matter, I think the Jets are enthralled with Baker.
  9. A few things: 1. I think it could work because... 2. The Giants at 6 would still have a shot at Barkley, Chubb, or Nelson 3. Colts want to trade down But... 4. I think the Colts need more to move down, maybe a 2019 2nd rounder added on. And if it took 12, 22, 56, 121 And 2019 2nd to go from 12 to 2... I’m down for it all day. I could see the same idea happening with Denver as well.
  10. I’m going to wait about 10-12 days to answer this one.
  11. The thing that worries me is his health. And I think that’s what worries teams moreso as well. I hear on the internet and on WGR that it’s the attitude that is making him slip. The concussions combined with what to me looks like an inability to “feel” pressure in the pocket, and make small movement in the pocket to avoid pressure, is what makes me nervous about him.
  12. I think so: if the Dolphins don’t grab a 1st Round guy, they’ll get a guy somewhere. But overall I think... 3. Jets: Mayfield- I think they moved up for Baker. And I think it’ll hurt them. The NY media and personality will not mesh. He gets aggravated by tweets of random users on Twitter, how’s he going to handle the NY press? Bills: could go anywhere, but I think their main targets are 1. Darnold 2. Allen 3. Rudolph. Theyll move to 2 for Darnold. 5-7 for Allen, stay at 12 for Rudolph. Dolphins in my opinion will end up taking A later guy because the guy they like most (Baker) will be gone.
  13. I just don’t see the Bills taking Jackson. They’ll take Rudolph before Jackson. That I believe wholeheartedly.
  14. I think Price is a good option. Or a guy like Hernandez would be a great addition. Regarding the cap space, I read somewhere that they’ll save most of the money from Incognito with him retiring. I think it saves around $5M-$6M. Also, if they’re signing guys in June it won’t be for much more than league minimum. I dont think they plabned on this, but they are trying to build the depth. Mills, Ducasse, Groy, Bodine along with a Draft Pick or two could give us a solid group. We look at this as trash, but let’s not forget Bodine started in Cincinatti for almost every game for what, 3-4 years? And he’ll battle Groy. The weak spot is Mills, but even he, compared to some around the league, is an average player. We forget how bad offensive line play has become.
  15. They still have the draft, and as someone stated above, players who get cut in the summer will become available. By that time they’ll have a better idea of their true needs heading into the season, and also the fact that those guys signed later on will come much cheaper than the ones signed now.
  16. I think a lot of it also has to do with properly developing these guys as well. You might get the best guy but if you don’t make it easy for them, they can struggle and flop. Look at guys like Goff, Wentz & Watson. I think a big reason for their success has been that all those teams are installing some portion of what worked for them in college. Or in the case of Goff/McVay, the Coach is calling audibles to the QB during pre-snap through the QB’s ear piece.
  17. That’s what I remember hearing as well. And that neither he nor Goff really deserved to be in the top 3-5 Picks... I think a lot of what’s helped these young QB’s is implementing more RPO and Spread into their offenses.
  18. I think that’s especially different because Cleveland owns #4. They want to keep everyone on their toes just as much as possible.
  19. According to what I saw on Spotrac, if they traded Lawson before June 1st this year, it would be $2.8M in dead cap. But the team does seem to be loading up on d-linemen, it just makes me think that if another player moves, it could be him. He does have pedigree, and while he’s been hurt, and hasn’t put up huge numbers, he’s been a decent edge setter when he’s played and done solid against the run. Again, this is a hypothetical deal. It’d be a negotiation. Don’t want Shaq, fine, want a pick instead, ok. What kind of Pick are you looking for, this year or next year, etc. etc. My basic point is that I think the Bills have the ability, and are determined to make the move to #2. And to do that I think they will need to make two more moves. One with Denver/Indy/Tampa. My money is on Tampa Bay. It’ll be the cheapest deal that still allows the Giants a good chance at one of Barkley, Nelson or Chubb. And from that point, I think Buffalo will add whatever picks necessary to get up to #2. I think a big part of it is the Giants waiting to see what Cleveland does. The word is if Cleveland takes Allen, the Giants will stay at #2 and take Darnold. If Darnold goes first, then the Giants will move out, and that’s when the Gettleman/Beane relationship will come into play and I would believe Beane has been talking to teams like Denver, Indianapolis and Tampa Bay about a small jump before the big jump to #2. McDermott before he got here, and especially Beane since he arrived, have been meticulous in their dismantling of the old roster, in order to collect as much capital as possible in order to go ahead and make the move up for a franchise quarterback.
  20. Could be. But then again, a few weeks ago no one thought we’d get anything for Tyrod. No one thought we’d get anything for Cordy either. Regardless, we have the capital, change Shaq to a 2nd Round Pick if need be. This team wont be afraid to add for a guy they want in my opinion.
  21. I think 7 will be the sweet spot for another small jump. Tampa seems more open to it than Indianapolis from what I’ve seen. And if Buffalo is looking to deal with Gettleman, word is they like Barkley, Nelson & Chubb (was listening to Matt Miller’s podcast). Buffalo could use something like a 2nd in 2019 along with a 4th this year, to move up to #7. Then from there they package 7, 22, Shaq Lawson (Giants need edge players), and #95 for #2. If Cleveland, Buffalo, and the Jets all take QB’s, and Fitzpatrick goes in the top-6, that leaves the Giants with one of Barkley/Nelson/Chubb at #7.
  22. My First Mock Draft, With Trades: 1. Cleveland: QB- Sam Darnold *Bills move up from #12 to #7 with a 2018 4th Round Pick and 2019 2nd Round Pick. *Bills then trade #7, #22, Shaq Lawson and #65 to the Giants to get #2 overall. 2. Buffalo: QB- Josh Allen 3. New York (J): QB- Baker Mayfield 4. Cleveland: DB- Minkah Fitzpatrick. 5. Denver: OG- Quenton Nelson. 6. Indianapolis: DE- Bradley Chubb. 7. New York (G): RB- Saquon Barkley. *Chicago trades #8 to Arizona for #15, - 2018 4th Round Pick and a 2019 2nd Round Pick. Arizona: QB- Josh Rosen *San Francisco trades #9 and a 2019 conditional pick to the Giants for Odell Beckham Jr. G. 9. New York (G): OT- Mike McGlinchey Oakland: LB- Tremaine Edmunds Miami: CB- Denzel Ward Tampa Bay: S- Derwin James Washington: DT- Vita Vea Green Bay: DE- Marcus Davenport 15. Chicago: LB- Roquan Smith 16. Baltimore: CB- Josh Jackson 17. Los Angeles (C): OT- Conor Williams 18. Seattle: OL- Isaiah Wynn 19. Dallas: WR- Calvin Ridley 20. Detroit: RB- Derrius Guice 21. Cincinnati: LB- Rashaan Evans 22. New York (G): LB-Leighton Vander Esch 23. New England: OT- Kolton Miller 24. Carolina: WR- DJ Moore 25. Tennessee: DE- Harold Landry 26. Atlanta: DT- Taven Bryan 27. New Orleans: TE- Dallas Goedert 28. Pittsburgh: LB- Malik Jefferson 29. Jacksonville: QB- Lamar Jackson 30. Minnesota: OT- Martinas Rankins 31. New England: CB- Jaire Alexander 32. Philadelphia: OL- Billy Price
  23. I think Darnold goes 1st, and if he does they have a deal with Tampa to move up to #7 in principal and a deal from there with the Giants. I think Shaq Lawson is part of the deal. He’s a cheap young player with upside and edge guys are wanted in droves. Tampa added Curry and JPP, but definitely needs depth there. He could be part of the move to #2 as well where the Giants could see him as a Bigger OLB like Rex liked in his 3-4.
