  1. And a big (maybe) injection of rookies that will need to get coached up while they are learning the playbook and possibly adding muscle mass. This will be a very important role for us.
  2. Per NFL.com: PICK 9 Bills 2 Record: 6-10 (.523)Previous week: No. T-7Biggest needs: OL, WR, CB It wasn't always pretty, but the Bills went 4-3 in their final seven games, and two of the losses were by just four points. Reasons for optimism! Now, the offensive line and pass catchers for Josh Allen have to be much better, but with a good offseason, this squad could take a big step in 2019.
  3. Well, they hung on to Bortles too. Perhaps their GM deserves some of the blame ass well. They signed Darius to overpay him as well. They are definitely not making good decisions down there.
  4. He certainly played as well as Murphy and his attitude has improved considerably. I'd like to see him get another year to compete for the starting job at LDE with Murphy. I think Murphy was a mistake, but maybe it's just getting over his serious injury that held him back. I could see both of them playing better in 2019.
  5. If he can do something (???) about his accuracy, he can be great, but what? I don't think he can live or die by his legs his whole career or he'll be spending a lot of time on IR.
  6. Yes, but he can add a few pounds. It's not like he's far away from his best playing weight for the NFL. I'd love this pick.
  7. Nice dream, but I need to see Allen completing at a 10% higher rate before I can even imagine this happening.
  8. Members 326 Report post Posted 7 hours ago 1. Baker Mayfield 2. Lamar Jackson 3. Sam Darnold 4. Josh Allen 5. Josh Rosen In terms of long term potential, I can't see how a QB with a 52% can be judged as the one with the best long term potential. I know I'll get flamed for saying it, but the top 3 assets a successful NFL QB needs are accuracy, accuracy and accuracy. You can't teach it. You either wake up with it or you don't. Josh doesn't. He runs exceptionally well, but he can't live and die by that. His final pass efficiency rating was a 67. He might raise that a bit in year 2 with better awareness, but inaccuracy will be his undoing.
  9. Allen and Edmunds will eventually cost Beane and McDermott their jobs.
  10. I don't see that happening with Allen at QB. I think he is going to hold this team back.
  11. We need to beef up our pass rush big time. I think our 1st pick should be a penetrating DT or a pass rushing DE, which would allow us to trade T Murphy, whom I think was a mistake on Beane's part. It will be interesting to see if Murphy or Lawson sticks next year. I don't see both of them being around.
  12. I can't think of any NFL QB that has ever fixed an inaccurate arm. I hate to say it, but it looks like a swing and a big miss for Beane on both of his 1st round picks in his 1st draft. You can't build a champion if you keep missing on 1st rounders and Beane has already done it twice. I'm afraid this rebuild is on hold until we find a QB and a MLB, but mostly a QB. It's sad because I like this kid, but I liked EJ too and that didn't make any difference either. We need to draft another QB this year, but will McBeane admit that they missed and pull the trigger or wait until year 3 and get fired as the Pegulas are forced to clean house again? You're either born with that natural accuracy or you're not. Josh wasn't, unfortunately.
  13. A class act on the field and off from start to finish. He will long remain a favorite of Bills fans for his great play and superior character. I hope he rejoins us as a coach.
  14. Yes, Wallace and Foster have both been a pleasant surprise. Too bad our 2 1st round picks don't look as good.
  15. Very possible. I don't even know if we can get much for him. Having a very weak OL and a QB that has poor accuracy doesn't help either. He can't carry the team all by himself.
  16. I've been saying this for a while now, but I'm losing confidence in both Josh Allen and Edmunds. Neither of them has progressed, despite claims to the contrary. Allen has the worst accuracy of any Bills QB that I've ever seen and I've been a fan since 1960. Edmunds appears to have the necessary physical assets, but is making absolutely no progress at all. In fact, their performance levels have slightly declined since opening day. On top of that, Zay Jones will probably not be a #1 or even #2 WR and Dawkins showed no improvement in his sophomore campaign. Phillips and T Johnson showed some promise, but they aren't the future of this team -- Allen and Edmunds are. With Allen's problems, I think it will be difficult for the Bills to attract top tier talent this offseason. I hope to be pleasantly surprised. Beane's 1st draft didn't go very well, so I have to hope he can do much better this next time around, but 2 1st round busts in 1 year doesn't give me much confidence in him. Well, they'll have plenty of ammo this offseason, so let's hope they learn from their mistakes and do much better this time around. Rex 9-7???
  17. 52% completion rate will kill his career in a hurry. That number needs to go way up. Honestly, he really hasn't shown much progress to date, but hopefully with a year under his belt and a stronger supporting cast next year, we'll see some development. We gave up far too much for Allen and Edmunds for them to be average. Neither has impressed me very much or shown any real progress.
  18. Lynn has a MUCH more talented roster and a great veteran QB to work with. McD was hired for a rebuild. We're comparing apples and oranges.
  19. They are both correct. We need a CB and DT on D and a nearly complete rebuild on O. Get something for Shady while we still can. I'd like a really good, young power runner without fumblitis. Then we need to pray that Josh learns how to throw with much better accuracy. 50-something percent ain't gonna cut it in today's NFL. Hopefully an O facelift will help.
  20. Well, Kyle is certainly well past his prime, but he was great. Hughes is just shy of elite. Lotulelei is better than I thought he'd be, but no probowler and T Murphy was a mistake. We need to add a stud DT to replace Kyle this offseason, but I don't know how. We have so many other needs also.
  21. We need a stud at LT and move Dawkins to RT. We need a starting C and throw another G into the mix and let him compete with Teller, Miller and Ducasse for the 2 starting spots. I'd say get a stud G, but we also need studs at CB, DT and WR. That's asking a lot for 1 offseason even with $90 million in cap space. We have 10 picks, but all the extras are on day 3. This offseason will be anything but boring.
  22. Unfortunately, Allen's inaccuracy seems to be due to muscle coordination in his arm. He'll never be known as an accurate QB and won't be able to lift a team the way a guy like Brady or Peyton could. If we can put together a strong roster, we can be a playoff team, but I don't see Josh winning any SB's.
  23. We could definitely use a big upgrade at DT to replace Kyle and Harry has not yet shown that he is ready to step up. Our DL as a whole needs an upgrade so we can rush 4 more often and still get pressure. Our run D also needs to improve. An outside corner is a must. We'll probably get very aggressive about bringing receiving help due to the limited options in FA and he draft class there. My biggest hope, though, is that we sign a franchise LT and C. A solid OL would make Allen's life so much easier and allow him more time to set his feet properly and make better decisions. I also think we'll see a changing of the guard at RB. I look for a Shady trade to Pittsburgh maybe???
  24. I agree they are overrated, but they are still good. The letdowns vs the Jets were really bad though. The game was on the line and they blew it. It wasn't all on them, though. We stunk in all 3 phases of the game. No run game. Our passing game was terrible. Defense suffered multiple letdowns and ST were putrid. Hopefully we will sign or draft a lockdown corner to play opposite T White. Lorenzo and Kyle will need to be replaced too. Our front 7 is mediocre, so I'd like those replacements to be gamechangers. That said, we need at least a couple really good receivers added and most of all, we must get a big upgrade to our OL. I've been noticing that Allen is scrambling far too much and that's when he makes bad throws and picks. Give him time and a solid run game and he will be pretty good.
  25. Regrettably, Josh Allen's much advertised inaccuracy has not gone away and probably never will. Maybe, just maybe he'll get smarter about his decision making, but he'll never be an elite NFL QB. How long before the new regime admits he's not the guy and goes after another QB? He runs very well, but his arm, though strong, remains a serious liability. we all should know by now that accuracy is the most important quality an NFL QB can have. Sad but true.
