McShay - Bills pass on WR and take RB Swift in 1st.
GreggTX replied to PIZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This move would be beyond stupid. There is no reason why we should waste a day 1 or day 2 pick on a RB unless we're planning on trading Singletary. -
How fast is Josh Allen and can he get faster?
GreggTX replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I couldn't care less how fast JA is. He's a QB. He needs to learn to pass much better. -
No more Jerry Sullivan radio show (but now Podcast!)
GreggTX replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sully was too honest for Bills fans. -
Astro's "Pick-Six" Discussing the upcoming 2020 Bills Draft
GreggTX replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We have one of the best safety tandems in the NFL in Poyer and Hyde. Why in the world would we waste a first round pick on a safety when we have so many other holes to fill? -
I like it, but if Espensa is there at 22, I'd take him and target Pittman in round 2 or get a solid OT at 22. Also, what about replacing Lorenzo? Shouldn't we target a LB in FA or take one higher than the 7th? We'd have to eat almost $8 million in dead money if we release Lotulelei. I'd let J Phillips walk first.

Who Is Your Least Favorite Bill of All Time ... and Why?
GreggTX replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Phil Villapiano. The whole time he was here he complained about being here. His only memorable quote was "Buffalo may not be the end of the world, but you can see it from there." I was glad to see him gone. He sucked anyways. He is one of the best, if not THE best blocking TE in the NFL. They didn't sign him to split the safeties deep anyways. Also, he doesn't drop passes. Slowest Bill ever and after 2 seasons, he still didn't even know the playbook. -
Bills potential interest in Pats UFA LG Joe Thuney?
GreggTX replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Can't argue with that, but there are no really good OT's hitting the FA market this year and besides, if that's the going rate for an all-pro G, I'd still pay it. we need to keep upgrading this OL. It's a long way from finished. We went from bottom 3 to average this year. That was a big step. Now let's take the next step. There re going to be a lot of good OT's available in this draft and if we can get a G and Edge rusher in FA. I want a beastly OL. They will make all of our skill players look better. -

I'd love to see this happen. Add Conklin who is now an average OT and let Ford compete with Spain for the other G spot. I guess it sepends how much Spain's market value is, but his teammates really seem to want him to come back -- especially Josh. -
Browns hiring Alex Van Pelt as OC
GreggTX replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
AVP was the OC here before he was ready for the job. Hopefully it will be different this time around. -
It's absolutely ridiculous the way the NFL says these cities "have to" have a "competitive" stadium. There's nothing wrong with the one we have now. Didn't we just spend millions on an upgrade too? How many upgrades before that? You'd think these stadiums are somehow broken after just a few years of use and then the taxpayers are on the hook for absurd amounts of money that would be better spent on teachers' salaries and pensions, healthcare, etc, etc, etc. Even more amazing is the way the fans just blindly repeat this mantra without ever questioning it. It's like our wars. When we go to attack a country that never, ever attacked us, no one asks how we're going to pay all those trillions of dollars it will eventually cost us, but a few bucks for clean drinking water or healthcare and everyone demands that we account for every penny before we even consider it. SMH.

Gregg Rosenthal says "Make Josh Allen's life easier"
GreggTX replied to HerdMenatlity1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Get an absolute beast or 2 for the OL. Also get a solid WR, LB and DE in FA or as close to that as you can get. Then we just go BPA in the draft. Tall order, but who knows? -
Ford is a huge ? In my mind. He was just a rookie, but the OT position is too important to chance, so I'd like to see Beane continue to address our OL this offseason, but not by signing average O linemen. I want some real bests with a nasty streak up front! I really hope Oliver can have a breakout year in 2020. I suspect adding a little muscle mass might help him a lot. Also, he had his snaps reduced for a while and finished strong. I hope those weren't motivational issues holding him back. Knox could be great if he could raise his catch % to something more respectable. He's great after the catch. I still want to see more of Sweeney. Devin Singletary has a bright future ahead of him. Vosean Joseph is the wildcard. As one draft pundit put it, he has amazing ability coupled with tunnel vision. If he can learn to see more and process more, he could be a real steal. Maybe he should talk to Motor about vision and awareness.

I agree Allen is average overall, but that's only when you factor in his elite open field running. I just hope his ability as a passer takes a huge leap in terms of his mental game because I don't see his accuracy getting considerably better. There is hope, but I really wish we had a top 3 passing QB.

PFF's Big Board (I know I know, but hear me out)
GreggTX replied to DCOrange's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ideally, I'd like to see us draft an OT in the 1st, a WR in the 2nd and get a good edge rusher, LB, CB and WR in FA. Maybe go TE and RB after the top 2 rounds and anothe OL, DL and CB in the draft. -
Chargers moving on from Philip Rivers after 16 years
GreggTX replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wish he was coming to the Bills. Add a #1 WR, RT, G and a backup RB if Wade doesn't pan out and we could be headed back to the SB. -
Sounds like PFF is spot on here. One other thought: I'd like to see more of Tom Sweeney in 2020.

Kudos to Bojo. He was supposed to be a liability, but he actually did quite well. I know Hauschka struggled for a while, but given his past, I'd have to see another kicker just wow the coaches before I'd replace him. I expect him to bounce back. Still, there's never any harm in providing competition.

He wasn't nearly good enough to even be considered. I think the HOF would diminish its reputation by letting Eli Manning in. I'm sure they can find many players more deserving of the honor.

Running Backs A Dime a Dozen & Is It a Passing League ?
GreggTX replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You play to your strengths. If you RB and OL are better than the rest, you take advantage of that. I don't care if the other team gets pass happy or not. Our running game was better than our passing game in 2019, but we didn't really take advantage of that and it cost us a couple wins, IMO. For the record, I look at QB scrambling yards as part of the passing offense rather than rushing offense. -
You have a better chance of getting hit by lightning than seeing Hunt in a Bills uniform while McDermott is the HC. C Wade will get some opportunities this Summer too. It seems many have forgotten about him. I'm excited to see what he can do now that he's had some coaching.

Pro Bowl Player Poll--Worst City to Travel To

How would any of them know about Buffalo if they just sit in the hotel, drive to and from the stadium then bus back to the airport? -
Chris Brown article on Bills Draft Needs
GreggTX replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What OL "gems" are you refering to? Our OL is very average except at RT where Ford really struggled and Nsekhe was often injured as well as being below average. We need to continue to make big upgrades on the OL. I don't think our OL is in "good shape" by far. We've still got a lot of work to do there.
