Ed Oliver Hustle plays - Baldinger Breakdown
GreggTX replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He got off to a very disappointing start, but has come around. I expect him to add a little core strength for next season and be even better. -
Does Jordan Phillips ever get 10 sacks again?
GreggTX replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd definitely like to see him stay and I think he can be more productive in Buffalo than anywhere else. Hopefully the price is right because he's playing better than anyone on our DL right now. Remember that he was a 2nd round pick, so it's not a complete surprise that he's coming around. -
McDermott is establishing himself as an elite HC
GreggTX replied to Flip Johnson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No question about it. He is as good a leader as this team has had ranking right up there with Marv Levy and Lou Saban. He may have a couple soft spots that he could improve like challenges, but his ability to command respect and pull a team together is unlike anything we've seen in a long time. As a defensive leader, in particular, he has been brilliant getting the most out of his players. He doesn't care what you're getting paid or what your past accomplishments are. You put your teammates ahead of yourself or you don't play for his team. The results have exceeded my expectations. I wouldn't be at all surprised if we win a playoff game this year and we'll still have a bunch of cap space for 2020. All we need now is for Josh Allen to take his game up a couple levels so he doesn't hold us back and things could get even more interesting. -
Maybe Hauschka has lost it. He's been solid for us up to now, but his performances of late have been very disappointing. Bojo was the guy that couldn't kick, but he's done OK.

For the life of me, I can't see why the Cowboys pass so much. I guess everyone feels like they have to abandon the run (except Greg Roman) because that's how the "21st century offense" works. That's stupid. They have 3 guys at or near all-pro level on their OL and arguably one of the top 3 RB's in the NFL. They should be running the ball a LOT more, even if they are behind by a score or 2 in the 3rd Q.

Give Thanks for Bills win at Dallas Postgame Thread
GreggTX replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bottom line is that the Bills just wanted it more. Give credit to McDermott for the attitude of this team. -
Let's not forget that HC's can be rookies and go through a learning process as well as a player. I think he's just learning as he goes and it's starting to show. I think the prevent is fine if you have a 3 score lead late in the 4th. That last TD by Dallas was of no consequence. I thought giving up short completions was the right move.

Do the "look at me" actions of Shaq and Oliver bother you?
GreggTX replied to PUNT750's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't see that it matters much at all. I just want results. They can dance all they want or not. -
Josh Allen - week THIRTEEN report card
GreggTX replied to rayray808's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've doubted him as much as anyone, but he's starting to make a believer out of me. He's raising his completion rate. He's cut way down on turnovers and his 2 best games as an NFL QB have come in the last 3 weeks. That's some tasty crow! -
What really impressed me most about Oliver's game against Dallas is that he was matched up against Zack Martin and Travis Fredrick for much of the day and he dominated. Those are 2 of the best players in the NFL at ANY position. Add an elite edge rusher, a shutdown CB and hopefully Edmunds starts his upward trend -- He's kinda leveled off recently. I believe that would really put us over the top.

Still worried about the Bills' offense?
GreggTX replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In case no one noticed, we just snuck into the top 5 in rushing offense. We're 24th in passing yards per game. Defensively, we're 3rd against the pass and 15th against the run. -
He has struggled, but wasn't too bad today. Von Miller's sack came against Dawkins. I think his future is at RG and we'll add another starter at OT next year in FA or the draft.
-
I personally voted for our safeties, White and Brown. Not sure about Beasley or Phillips. Who do you think deserves it?

Still worried about the Bills' offense?
GreggTX replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Let's see how well they play against some of the better defenses down the stretch. That was a very good defense we played against today, so I'm very encouraged. There may yet be some bumps in the road, but we're definitely trending upwards. We still need to improve the OL despite a solid game for them today and we need an elite WR. Brown is very good, but he's not elite. -
He's been playing better of late, but I am guessing that they'll ask him to bulk up a bit this offseason. Hopefully he can do that without losing too much of that quick first step. Hopefully his best days are still ahead. The real question is, how high is his ceiling.

1. Frank Gore passed Barry Sanders to take 3rd all time rusher in NFL history. 2. Devin Singletary had his 1st 100 yard game. (about time, Brian) 3. Ed Oliver is starting to come around. 4. Even though Denver doesn't have a good QB on their roster, holding any NFL team to 3 points is big. 5. The OL played well overall despite losing our best OL for most of the game.

Seantrel Henderson - OT depth? (Update - visiting Bills)
GreggTX replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
On a related note, Ford will be asked to block Von Miller and Demarcus Lawrence in our next 2 games. That has me worried. CF has been a major disappointment so far. Still, I like to think he could become a decent RG some day. -
Could Bills @ Steelers get flexed to Sunday night or 4pm?
GreggTX replied to Negan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This game could make or break our season. I can't see us beating the Cowboys, Ravens or Patriots so we have to beat the Broncos, Steelers and Jets to get into the playoffs. -
Tom Brady looks and sounds “checked out” to me
GreggTX replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Brady is as intense as any athlete I've ever watched. I can't see him ever checking out before he retires. I also suspect his HC will retire with him rather than risk tarnishing his reputation. Bellechik and Brady will always be remembered together. When one of their names comes up in conversation, the other will usually follow shortly thereafter. -
Jerry Sullivan on our podcast: Anecdote about McDermott
GreggTX replied to gomper's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I miss Sully's candor. I couldn't care less what others think about him. He tells it like it is. Sorry if you get buthurt about it. It's not Sully's fault if you can't handle the truth. -
OJ was the best RB in NFL history, but he won't be selected for obvious reasons. Bruce and Reggie White also deserve the honor.
-
Two top 4 defenses means a single play could decide this game. I'm worried about Cody Ford's matchup with Von Miller, but B Allen is just awful. I don't think he could even make any other NFL roster besides Denver's. 13-6 Bills. Denver's strength is their secondary. Time to get Singletary his first 20 carry/100 yard game.

Josh Allen named AFC Offensive Player of the Week
GreggTX replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm as big a critic of Josh as anyone on these boards, but I give credit where it's due. He played a great game. If he can start connecting on a good % of his deep balls and stop throwing high and behind receivers on crossing patterns, the rest is mental. I've got my fingers crossed. Now let's see him play like that against Denver and Dallas and Baltimore. -
PFF claims Matt Milano has struggled this year
GreggTX replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Many Bills fans hate PFF because they are honest and unbiased and they actually watch the players closely and measure their performance. They don't measure players by popularity. Bills fans tend to judge the players by their feelings toward them. Hence, Allen and Milano are great when, in fact, neither player is better than average.
