Khalil Mack traded to Chargers for 2nd and 6th round picks
MJS replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall
And his stats have dropped off the past couple of years. I want an elite pass rusher too, but I'm not sure Mack is the one we want. -
Can you tell me which teams in the NFL don't have a handful of core special teamers?
-
That's a pipeline we'll want to keep full. Keep bringing in young guys to develop. We're going to pay Diggs big money. We might not be able to afford another big contract in that position group.
-
You aren't claiming to be a QB guy with all this playing and coaching experience as a basis for your criticism.
-
Well that's fine, but it is 100% certain that Feliciano is way better than you, so I'm not sure how you can say that he sucks.
-
What does it mean to be an oline guy?
-
I don't think you understand the lack of talent in the NFL for olinemen. Feliciano will be starting in the NFL in the near future. There are plenty of teams who have much less at the guard position.
-
He just got injured too much and he is not starter quality, but he is a good backup.
-
The other issue is he has been making $18 million a year. I doubt he would get that much now, given his age, but I imagine a team will be willing to pay him $15 million, maybe? He has a ring already, so I wonder what his priorities are: winning another ring, or making more money?
-
They are going through a massive rebuild. There's no reason to keep him. By the time they are finished rebuilding he will be retiring.
-
It's a 5th year option. You use the 5th year option for two reasons: to lock up a good player for another year while you work out an extension, or to lock up a player for another year of evaluation who you aren't 100% sure about yet. Edmunds is fine. He works. He gets the job done. Moving on from him without having an immediate upgrade is not an option, which is why you take the 5th year option. Bringing in Wagner would be a huge upgrade.

Does the strategy change when a team is this close to the SB?
MJS replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall
You mess up every post, but nobody has fired you yet. -
This is what I was going to say. Russel Wilson was hurt for a bunch of games.
-
Gotta say Bobby Wagner now that he is available.
-
Hey, I'd totally take him. I have no idea how much he would cost. He is a clear upgrade from Edmunds. Edmunds is not as bad as everyone claims, but Wagner is a really good player. He's 31 so we would only get a couple more years out of him, though. I defend Edmunds a lot, but he has clearly been an average player so far in his career. He is a physical specimen with high upside, but he has not lived up to that potential yet. A lot of people claim he sucks. He doesn't. But I would not argue with anyone who says he is average. So far, he has had one above average year and the rest have been average or below average.
-
He's the type of player who needs to go get as big of a contract as he possibly can. Maybe if there isn't a lot of interest he'll re-sign with the Bills.
-
Every single year in free agency. Good players get paid like elite players. Average players get paid like good players.
-
He is good depth. Sad to see him go.
-
The worst thing he ever did was have that stupid mustache.
-
Van Noy is a decent player. He'll find a team.
-
He has made a TON of money. Good for him. But he is definately not mediocre. He has top 10 stats. He isn't elite because he doesn't have that clutch gene or the ability to put the team on his back in key situations, but he throws for a lot of yards and TD's and he is an efficient passer. People have been saying that ever since QB's were making $10 million a year. Wasn't true then and it isn't true now.
-
And the Week 17 game against the Dolphins. He was dominant and efficient in that game.
-
Everything we see from Allen today was present in his game as a rookie. He just has gotten much more consistent, better at reading defenses, able to rise to big moments better, etc. The narrative that Josh Allen has ever sucked at the NFL level is, and always has been, untrue. What makes him so exciting today was still true his rookie year.

You know you must suck when you have to go to Mexico to play football...
MJS replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
Why are you piling on a random, undrafted player who is just trying to make a living playing the sport he loves? Good for him. Someone is willing to pay him to play football.- 36 replies

He IS currently under contract with the Bills until the new league year. The Bills DO have exclusive rights to him until the new league year. He DOES NOT have any right whatsoever to test the market right now, until the new league year and his contract is up (except the two day legal tampering period, that is). This is basic stuff.
