Well if we're looking for a bright side...the offense went into the playoffs with a lot of momentum last year and didn't really look great once we got there. Maybe it'll be the opposite this year?

I would disagree about the criticism, I think he struggles a lot with those decisions. The timeout management though is a problem almost every single week, and it's been going on for years. It's cost us big at times too in close games.

That was a brutal first half from McD. I think he's a good teacher of the game but with the decision-making on 4th downs and another week of brutal timeout usage...I have no idea how anyone can make the argument that he's a good in-game manager.

Oh I agree, I didn't mean we would have won the game if not for the way he managed the game, but I think he cost us a better opportunity with those kicks on multiple 4th and shorts. He coached scared.

I did love Andre Roberts. He was so physical as a returner and it felt like consistently got the most possible out of his returns.

I didn't really understand that playcall. I like creativity but why would we have wanted Diggs to throw in these conditions?

I want us to stay aggressive in terms of going for it on 4th and shorts and all...but the playcalling is still so strange in the redzone for us so much of the time though. We've dominated and are about to only be up 2...yikes.

Fangio to me is kind of like Bowles in the sense that I’d take him as a coordinator anyday…but the guy makes some brutal in-game errors as a head coach. I’m not sure he’s cut out for it.

I would for sure explore that. My only hesitancy is he’s prob close to being a FA right? Not sure I want to sink big bucks into that position. But we could see his impact here for a year and see what happens.

I think it’s a couple things, one that we’ve gotten run over so badly at times with seemingly no way to stop the bleeding. The other is I don’t think many of us trust this D to come up with the big stop at the end of the game. I don’t know if it would have happened this past week in NE either, which is one of the reasons I was so on board with going for it on those 4th downs.

Great stuff. I thought Dawkins was solid during the game but I really didn't pick up that he had that great a game. Hopefully he can finish strong, we need it. Rousseau has for the most part been a non-factor for a long time now. Unfortunately many predicted that's what he would be at this level.

If he balls out again, it definitely does start raising some questions about the staff after seeing McKenzie too.

Oh for sure he could change my mind. Obviously not that it would change anything outside of that, I'm just a dude posting on a message board. I think McD's evolution has been slower when it comes to making those "aggressive" decisions, I'm not sure I even like calling it that because I don't really think the way he managed the game yesterday was necessarily aggressive, it was just the right thing to do. That's just how our games should be managed, it aligns with the team and QB that we have. It's playing to our strengths and I don't think he's always done that here. Where things have gone wrong for me when it comes to him is the part above and his in-game management, obviously well documented around here with things like challenges, timeouts, clock management. We saw it on the biggest of stages last year in the AFC Championship game where he really coached scared. We're still seeing things mis-managed like in the first Pats game where I thought the coaches lost the game for us. Even yesterday we saw a horrible timeout used in the 2nd half after he did the same thing in the first game, fortunately it just didn't come down to mattering yesterday. I'm not sure why these things are still issues in year 5. He's not a "new" coach anymore, not even close. I don't think he's a bad guy or anything. The only time I really had an issue with him was when he made a couple of comments about our offensive playcalling in the first Pats game. He's the head coach. He's in the conversation when those plays are called, he has the power to change things. I didn't really like the evading of accountability there when he preaches accountability consistently. It doesn't matter if he's a defensive guy, as a head coach he's supposed to be overseeing the entire game. But all in all I mostly don't want for a coach to play a big part in losing a game for us and he scares me on that end sometimes. Hopefully the rest of the way he'll keep putting the game in the hands of #17 when it matters most. We don't have a lockdown defense, banking on our best player on those 4ths instead of kicking the FG and leaving it up to our D is 100% the right thing to do with this group and what we should see the rest of the season. I'll hold out hope for better game management in terms of timeouts and challenges but I'm not as optimistic there.
