  1. While I think this is definitely different than 2008 and 2011...I don't know to what level yet. We'll have to see how we contend with teams like the Pats and find out.
  2. I'll be totally honest...I had it rated Darnold, Allen, Rosen, Mayfield, Jackson. But I also really don't watch much college football at all so that was really off some very small samples. I think I was also swayed by Rosen's "F Trump" hat though.
  3. Good stuff, I like this team a lot and really loved the way Allen played overall yesterday. A couple of small things...even though it's been a McDermott staple...I'm hoping the conservativeness yesterday was because we were playing a bad team, but even that almost came back to bite us. I just don't think you can take the foot off the gas pedal in this league. You leave that door open and teams are going to come back on you, especially the mediocre to top teams. Really not a fan of kneeling with 45 seconds left and 2 timeouts at the end of the half and the really conservative offense in the 3rd quarter. Lets put these teams away when we have a chance! The other thing is maybe Gore makes sense in a goalline situation...but I feel like we're wasting a lot of other plays with him. He looks really slow. I don't want to waste those plays against good teams. But overall the team looks good and outside of Allen, the improvement with the D-line is really encouraging. QB and D-line are the keys to closing out games.
  4. I would give him an A-. I probably judge less by stats than from what I see, which these days isn't popular, but I felt like he played a winning game. He led us to big drives when we needed them. I too was not thrilled with how conservative we got at the end of the half and 3rd quarter. We got a lucky break with the non-fumble call that could have really changed the complexion of the game. I like our D, but not enough to be that conservative with a lead. Especially when we face better offenses. The same with our offense, I like it more but I don't think it's good enough to give away possessions like that. This team needs to learn to keep the pedal to the medal and it starts with the coaching staff. If you watch a team and coach like the Pats, they don't let up. That's where this staff and team need to be mentally.
  5. Great 1st half but 45 secs and 2 timeouts and taking a kneel? Go for the jugular, always. That’s how you develop that killer instinct.
  6. I actually do think they're going to move the ball well against us. We're going to have to put up some points in this one and sustain some drives.
  7. I have no problem with the amount of passing. It was more that we weren't disguising anything at all.
  8. Singletary was the guy who really gave us a spark when we were dead in the water. Allen was much better on the last 2 drives. We really need to create some balance with the offense and mix in the run with more Singletary and take some deep shots.
  9. Can we please cover Crowder instead of giving him 7 yard cushions off the line?
  10. Singletary looked awesome there! No more Gore please. I didn’t watch preseason at all, did Yeldon look bad?
  11. I understand about the o-line but Gore also looks incredibly slow
  12. Wonder what amazing offensive gameplan McDermott and Daboll have dialed up for this 4th quarter
  13. Offensive design is an issue too, seems like most of our gains come on broken plays. Its not encouraging because a QB like Allen really needs a strong head coach and OC that we don’t have.
  14. I haven't really been around the last 2 months and I did see I made a post last month that was a little hazy. I'm not throwing a pity party or anything like that but I wanted to share because I didn't know if I would ever be back to do doing the little things in life like this. Almost a couple of months ago now, I really started to notice I was "losing time". I won't get into a lot of specifics, but some things happened and I am pretty much diagnosed with schizophrenia. There were some symptoms before that I just thought were kind of strange things that were happening, it's hard to explain it. But even worse, I don't know what happened during those times and whatever I did, I emptied out almost all of my savings. I'm in my 30's and basically have to start out financially where I was in my early 20's. All of this happened in a really short span after I had been incredibly blessed health-wise my entire life, and yeah, I thought of doing the worst. I thought about it real hard. But I got some fight left in me. I feel better right now and medication seems to be working. I'm going to be OK. I may not ever have the life I had worked for and was driving towards, but I'll be OK. I'll be back at work soon and I'll start over. We can only do what we can do, right? I guess the reason I wanted to share was I've really learned to be grateful for every moment and everything I do have. So I am grateful for this community, many of whom I've debated with. It wasn't too long ago that I also wanted to say I hope people don't take all of this stuff too seriously. It seems absolutely crazy now that just a few months ago I was actually mad about things I saw in a game. Or the Patriots winning. At the end of the day, it's cool as ***** that we have a great community and I can walk into a Bills bar anywhere and instantly be family. And maybe one day we can actually win to make it a little sweeter. With that, does anyone feel like going over some of the offseason highlights? I did see some of the players we signed and it looks like the O-line should be better, but I don't know most of the guys outside of Morse.
  15. All I can think of is Denzel in Remember the Titans yelling "I will break my foot off in your John Brown hind pots!"
  16. Hopefully, obviously it all depends on how/if Allen progresses. We only saw a little bit from Barkley so we don't really even know if he's a reliable backup. I liked that he was willing to throw the ball down the field in that game but it's yet to be seen if he's a quality #2, although hopefully we won't have to find out. I'm not the biggest fan of Derek Anderson being on the roster. It's fine that he's a mentor but he looked horrific on the field. If they consider him that valuable they should just see if he wants to coach and pay him whatever he's making now for it. Better than him taking up a roster spot. I would much rather have a young developmental guy for the #3 spot.
  17. I'm in agreement with the crowd that's still on the fence about Beane, and I don't think that's portraying him in a negative light. It's actually neither praising him or bashing him for the rebuild. I don't think tearing it down is that tough a job, it's how you rebuild back up and we're going to see a very important part of that this offseason after we saw the biggest single part of it last year with Allen. Whether or not Allen becomes a real franchise QB and what pieces Beane puts around him will determine what kind of job he's done here. The one thing that drives me crazy is all the nonsense about "breaking the drought". It was a fun moment but to me that really didn't change anything. It was a mediocre team at best that made it at 9-7 and lost in the first round. From the perspective of evaluating a GM, to me that pretty much means nothing. If he fails at putting the right pieces around Allen, I don't see how a 9-7 one and done run to the playoffs 2 years prior changes any part of that.
  18. I like Tate and the Hump the most out of all these options. I really, really don't want Tyrell Williams, which makes me fear he's going to be the one. Every time I've watched him, he's had big drops and it doesn't seem like he can make catches when any kind of physical coverage is involved.
  19. I think there are legitimate reasons for this. I believe it was against the Cowboys that the Rams had a huge 4th and short play and McVay went all the way down to one end of the sideline and they ended up calling a play-action pass when most thought it was going to be a run. This was also a long time ago and I don't know why I remember this but I do. In that infamous loss we had to the Cowboys on Monday night over 10 years ago, we had a big play on 3rd and long in the 4th quarter. We had a really conservative gameplan all night and had run the ball in similar situations but on this play, I remember Jauron watching really intently and had his hands on his knees, about as intense as you'll ever see him. And it ended up being a pass play that Trent got picked off on. But I 100% remember almost knowing that play was going to be a pass just because of Jauron's body language. There is something to all that, I believe it.
