There's a solid chance Rodgers makes the Steelers dysfunctional though

It'll be fun. I don't buy that somehow training camp filming will somehow affect the end result of the pursuit of a championship.

Love it! I've wanted this for so long!

Yup, the players put in way more effort on D in the playoffs and the refs swallow the whistle quite a bit Right. But more than that I just didn't understand the comparison when we are more reliant on Josh to win it all than any other team is on any other one player. The Chiefs, Eagles, whoever don't have a defense that consistently gets destroyed in the biggest games and can never get a late game stop. They also don't have these late game generational meltdowns like 13 seconds after their QB gives them 2 leads inside 2 minutes.
-
I don't agree with the disparity for them, that they were consistently losing postseason games they were really good in...but even if we met there...isn't that comparison that you're making an admittance that McD's "formula" hasn't worked? Elway didn't win it all with that coach and Marino never did.

Jim Nantz Predicted Schedule 2025

I couldn't disagree more about Al Michaels for like the last 10 years, he's so bad now. Enberg was so good, possibly my favorite. -
I would have to completely disagree that anyone left in the NBA is doing anything that resembles McD's "formula". These coaches have figured out ways to actually support their best players for the postseason, which is a different game. McD's game management and more importantly his side of the ball - his supposed proficiency - his defense has been HISTORICALLY awful in the playoffs and has far and away been the biggest deterrent to us winning a championship. What we have seen here is completely unprecedented. There has NEVER been an elite QB or player in general who has played this well year after year in the playoffs that has been let down by their coach's supposed expertise literally and consistently year after year, definitely not in football history and I'm not sure in any sport ever. You said you watched OKC...that team has been crafted and coached brilliantly. SGA is a top 3 player in the NBA, they have guys for him to drive and dish to either at the 3 pt line or lobs to keep defenses honest or make them pay...and they supplant all of that with a tough, physical defense that can get stops and doesn't make their success completely reliant on SGA being Superman offensively in every big game. For a McD-led team...our biggest rival can have a mediocre offense all year and hang 30+ no problem on his D in the postseason...and asks our QB to put up 30+ against an elite D. I not only don't see the similarity here....I think it's actually the exact opposite of what you're saying, and what you think teams should get away from but we're actually still stuck in. McD has created a situation where we DO need our star player to bring it home himself by probably needing at least 2 if not 3 Superman type games against elite defenses in the playoffs to win it all AND not have the defense on the field for the final moments of the game. It's an incredibly tough task and it's why we haven't won a SB yet with 17. I honestly can not think of a head coach in any sport, given what his supposed expertise is in, who has been more destructive and a bigger deterrent to an elite player winning a championship than Sean McDermott has been to Josh Allen.

I don't know how it can be said that we look just as good when we haven't won anything. Before this past season we had 3 Divisional exits in a row. We really haven't even been close to winning it all if you examine where we've been in the postseason during this era, that to me has become such a misnomer. The McBeane regime has been good but not great, those are just facts.

I Can't Wait 'Til The Home Opener!!!!!!!

Haha I used to live in Chicago and I thought when I saw Mike North I thought it was that clown that was one of the biggest sports radio guys back then and I couldn't believe the NFL gave someone like him that gig. But it's not him. -
That's exactly what it is. Although they didn't botch the Mets one as much as I thought they would. I actually got one of the hats cuz it was pretty cool. But I would say quite a bit of it overall in MLB was lame. They must have done well with the merch though.

What’s the deal with Winston and Cousins?
HomeskillitMoorman replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
Daboll/Schoen need to win this year. And if they don't, they at least have to show some big potential from Dart in the 2nd half of the season. That's why they loaded up, they basically get those 2 shots to keep their jobs - either win or show a very promising future. They were lucky to even get this after the way the last 2 seasons went. -
It feels like the Ravens know that the evidence doesn't look good for Tucker. This guy has been a huge part of their franchise, if they felt even decently at all about his innocence I think they'd have his back much more than this. Me neither. Even the whole Trevor Bauer thing where he may be "innocent"...he basically still gets off on hitting women and sent all those texts from his own phone and social media. It's so bizarre to me why they put themselves in those positions. Even just at baseline if we're taking him at his word...using your own Instagram and "playing rough" with a woman you barely know when you're a famous athlete is just stupid.

That is one hell of a discount though, basically 75% off That's the really annoying part for me is to help my Dad with all that from a different state. I get him Sunday Ticket every year but then I also have to help him with downloading all the other 5987094874 apps the games are on outside of that if he can't go to a bar that day. They've jacked the prices up and made it ridiculously complicated at the same time. I'd be totally fine with the price if they just made it easy for an old man like my pops to watch all the games all in one place.

Big Badazz Beane on Pat McAfee today

I don't actually have a problem with him not drafting a WR if the right guy wasn't on the board. I was disagreeing more with the idea that he fixed the situation last year with the Cooper trade or that they've earned some kind of trust with putting the right support around the QB or their defensive drafting when the incompetence around all of those things is why we've underperformed so much in the playoffs. -

I agree overall. On the last part though...yes Mahomes had to execute those plays but I would still say it's highly unlikely that if Josh was put in that situation that the coverage would have been that soft and vanilla in that same scenario with 13 seconds. I'm not taking away from Mahomes when I say that because you don't control who you're going up against, and as I still think he should carry the mantle of best QB in the league right now...but rather that Josh doesn't get to go up against that...he actually most of the time in those big games has to go up against formidable defenses, coaching and scheme. -

He didn't fix it though. Cooper sucked. And if you don't think he sucked, obviously he and Josh weren't able to create a chemistry on the field for him to be more impactful during the season...which would illustrate that it's a tough fix mid-season. I don't see how he fixed it in October. -

But you do know that's different right? Their defenses have been much better, especially in the playoffs. Even if you watch just that game last year, our guy had to make much tougher plays and it was a grind to get every yard and he was still possibly a bad call from winning it. Our defenses have largely been a sieve every single postseason. Also, he finished two of those drives in the 13 seconds game in the final 2 minutes and that still wasn't enough for this team to close it out for him. I get the part at the end. We had a shot to win it this past postseason and it was disappointing that it didn't happen. But the ask of him is to put up 30+ points vs a top level defense and the ask of Mahomes is to put up 30+ against a trash one. And this isn't even me throwing shade at Mahomes, I would agree with someone that he still gets the mantle of best QB in the game. It is true though that his organization and team have made it possible for him to get to and win SB's even if he isn't great all postseason long. And that's how it should be. We can't even get there when our guy is great. If he's having a down game, we have no shot. The second SB the Chiefs won vs the 49ers I think they punted like 3 times and had a turnover or two in the first half and scored 3 points I believe and their D kept them in the game....we would've been blown out if Josh had that type of half against a top team in January. I know what you're saying but I don't think it's as simple as that. -

That also doesn't mean a better GM and coach couldn't win an actual championship with the best player we've ever had though. We have heavily underachieved in the playoffs, we really haven't even been close to winning a Super Bowl. They've created a situation where the ask of our franchise player is much higher than what other teams are asking of franchise players are on other teams. Josh has something like 33 TD's and 4 INT's in the playoffs...and is barely over .500! This is unprecedented, it's never happened in the history of the NFL. They have overall let him down with the defenses, coaching and support they've put around him. I'd be curious to see how that could be debated. -

Right, I actually like Beane too and I appreciate his transparency because it’s more than most GM’s give but that is a valid point and fact. For me it still gets back to being able to think two things can be true at the same time. He’s a good GM that’s fallen short of being great. I think he and McD think they should have this level of reverence and trust when this team has massively underperformed in the playoffs given what the best player we’ve ever had has done and are 0-4 against our biggest rival. I don’t think the “how dare you question us” swagger really works when you haven’t won anything. 100%. The sad part about that is Josh overall has been great in the playoffs. Mahomes can win a SB even with an up and down postseason because of what’s around him and their coaching. Josh doesn’t have that luxury. He can’t even get there when he’s great. -

It's happened for like 6 postseasons in a row but somehow that's not enough to establish it's been a pattern and not injuries -
What did we win? It obviously wasn't enough. They've had 8 years to build a defense that can even be decent in the playoffs and haven't been able to do it. Our offense doesn't have the luxury that the Chiefs and Eagles do where their QB's can potentially have an up and down postseason and still make it or win the SB. Maybe we still need more weaponry to be able to answer the crazy ask that's being demanded of them.

I'm just happy the day arrived for Commander fans to see the renderings
-
Because it's possible to think and believe two things at the same time. I'm saying this from a fan perspective and not the WGR guys perspective because I don't listen to them...but it's possible to agree that this regime has brought the longest sustained tenure of legitimate success since the SB years AND that they have massively underachieved in the playoffs. What we've seen here is unprecedented when a star QB plays this well overall in the playoffs and has nothing to show for it. We're barely over .500 with him the playoffs playing mostly lights out and it's for the same exact reason every year. The defense has been beyond awful in the playoffs, Beane and McDermott have failed consistently on that end year after year. We've flushed almost the entire 20's of the best player we've ever had because the ask has been so high. Mahomes can have an up and down postseason and still win or make it to a SB. That just hasn't been possible for Josh, we can't even get there when he's great. All of these things can be true at the same time. You can feel fortunate and thank this regime that we're good and have had sustained success while also be aware of the shortcomings that have prevented us from winning big and wonder if these are the guys that can actually get the team over that hurdle. These are not exclusive to each other.
-
Exactly! And ask why even then Beane and McD can't manage to put together a defense that can at least be decent in the playoffs. Beane is much more candid and transparent than a lot of GM's and I actually appreciate that...but he did kind of have a "how are you guys doubting us" kind of energy which I don't get. Like what have McBeane done on the defensive side of the ball that would rationally have someone trust them that they'll now hit on their picks and strategy and come up big...forget big even just come up decent...in January?
