  1. He might be safe. McD needs a scapegoat for next season. Right now it looks like either a new OC that would be that guy and we all know with him as DC, no accountability there. It's a bad look for him if he fires the new OC/Brady or a new ST coordinator. I think what's best for the team is a distant 2nd for him.
  2. Bringing him back this year is pretty much just like when we brought Jauron back in year 4 knowing exactly what we were going to get...so I guess in that sense you're right.
  3. I disagree on the effort to win when it comes to McD. He hasn't improved at all as a coach in over 7 years. Things like in-game management is all about preparation. He doesn't do it. He's never put in the effort or work to improve himself as a gameday coach. It's one of the reasons it's maddening to me that we're keeping him when our guys like #17 show up in these big games and leave their heart on the field and we have a coach that does not do the same thing.
  4. 5-6 when it matters most, including 0-3 vs KC, with a QB that has for the most part played great in the playoffs and his side of the ball failing us in every big game and moment.
  5. Right, I think a lot of people are advocating to bring Brady back just because he was an upgrade over Dorsey. That doesn't mean he's actually the best candidate out there. Both things can be true.
  6. Then what's the point of discussing anything? Why would you say you're here?
  7. I used to think we'd win multiple. Now I really just hope we can at least get 1. It's not going to happen until a coaching change, if one happens. Marv coached them really tight in the SB's too if we're being honest. They should have been more aggressive on the last drive vs the Giants.
  8. Sure, but his proficiency is the defense, and he hasn't held up his end of the bargain. He's also not a strong in-game coach to stay the least. I know you keep mentioning the "duo" of McDermott and Allen and say it's good enough because we've taken close losses...but that's primarily been because of Allen playing out of his mind. It's crazy that we lost those 2 games to KC that he played outstanding in. What is McD contributing to in terms of the duo? His defenses can't stop anybody in these games and he doesn't know how to manage a game. And 5-6 in the playoffs considering he's had Allen for 10 of those games and he's mostly played great is really terrible. This isn't like early-to-mid Peyton Manning who was individually struggling in playoff games. Our QB for the most part has actually at times played even better in the playoffs than the regular season. Look at the fake punt in this game. There was confusion and then Hamlin lines up directly behind the center...EVERYONE know what was coming there. And he just let it happen. Good coaches don't do that. He knew the play design, he was watching what all of us were. I hate using 2nd half timeouts but you have to burn one there if you have no way to communicate to audible out or just take the 5 yard delay of game instead of just giving them the ball right there. He was incredibly fortunate with the fumble touchback because that pretty much would have ended the game right there. This is 7 years in and he's still completely clueless. It's really Allen vs Reid and Mahomes and we have to pray that McD won't be a massive liability in addition to his defenses never coming through in these games, and we can't even get that.
  9. I've always liked him just because of this reaction video. It's funny how he has such a tough time with how their draft board looked.
  10. I don't see how we are getting better though, 3 straight Divisional Round KO's after the peak of the AFCCG all the way back in 2020. Also the issue with McD's defensive philosophy you're talking about that you feel he'll work on...he hasn't worked on it for 7 years. This is the same thing he's always done. I don't see any indication of change. This has always been a defense that feasts on bad QB's and has a lot of trouble with good ones in big games.
  11. How has McD been good in the KC games even outside 13 seconds? His defenses have gotten completely lit up in all 3 of those games. The 2 where we were relatively healthy they gave up 38 and 42 points.
  12. I knew the injuries would be the rally cry. What about in 20 and 21 when the D was relatively healthy and McD’s unit still gave up 38 and 42? Or when we couldn’t stop the Bengals last year? Healthy or not, McD’s side of the ball ALWAYS lets us down in big games. Literally every single time.
  13. To be honest, missing the playoffs may have been the best thing for us. I can’t bring myself to actually root for that…but would I take missing the playoffs in exchange for McD being gone? Absolutely.
  14. How is a Divisional Round appearance and loss some kind of accomplishment with an elite QB that played elite? This is 3 Divisional exits in a row. This is not a good thing.
  15. I mean he'll still probably be around but it won't be this version of him. McD's wasted a lot of that. I think we maybe have a couple years of this kind of weapon where he can run like this and take the punishment. One of those we're punting away next year with McD. We might be down to 1 after that.
  16. If McD is here for the long haul, he’s looking at Phillip Rivers unfortunately. This has already been the most tragic waste of a superstar I’ve ever seen. Yea, Marino is the better comp
  17. Yup, it’s the D that always lets us down. Josh takes a lot of heat that should be going elsewhere.
