  1. These aren’t the kinds of podcasts that grill guys though, it’s more of just a conversation and these specifically are not football people. Most players don’t go on podcasts that someone is going to ask really tough questions on. I mean McAfee actually is a football guy and he glazes all over Rodgers every week when he’s on.
  2. This one does suck. He's a clutch player, we need more of that not less.
  3. I agree with that. I don't really even agree that we've been "in the mix" every year. We got blown out in 2021 and 2023, the 13 seconds game year we still would have needed the offense to put up gaudy games for us to win the SB because that D was going to give it up big, just like 2024 and I don't know if we could've hung in there with the Eagles with our defense either this year, but you never know in the SB at least. But overall I don't think we've been on the doorstep that often over these past few years, that's kind of a narrative a lot of fans here have created.
  4. Seems like he has the time available
  5. He's fine...but I have the same concerns that a lot of people do about the lack of elite talent we have.
  6. I don't know how we can claim to be a stud franchise when we haven't won anything. We haven't even been to the big game. There were also a lot of people last year ripping on the Eagles for what they gave Saquon but that big swing helped win them a championship. I'm not saying spend recklessly but what we've been doing considering we have an elite QB has not translated into postseason success either. There's a cost to being too conservative as well.
  7. Depends on if they can get out of it after 1 year with minimal casualty. If so, it's not a bad move.
  8. I agree, it's not fair. But on the flip side, we in California get to watch the Bills at 10am and already know what happens before people in Buffalo get to watch the game in person at 1pm.
  9. That's a very simplistic way to look at it though. Like this year we put up 29 points in the playoffs vs one of the top defenses in the league and I believe had been the only team to score 30+ on them all season while allowing 32 points to a mediocre offense. The defense has let us down in the playoffs every single season of this era. That's where the real problem lies.
  10. I don't agree that the Bernard contract was silly in it of itself. If we have a good d-line, he's a really good playmaker. But that's the catch-22 here with the Rosseau signing IMO. I don't think this helps his cause. We needed a makeover on the d-line.
  11. It's not really the salary for me...it's the player. The guy for the most part is non-existent when it matters most, and got manhandled by our biggest rival.
  12. Dude that got completely bullied by the team we can’t beat and disappears frequently in big moments…4 more years!
  13. Not being an impact player would actually make him a solid fit in our WR room. But I'm still hoping for someone better.
  14. The players have to be aware that McDermott's side of the ball has been awful in 6 straight postseasons. He's a defensive head coach that is a horrific defensive coach. That's not lost on them.
  15. How long does it take? He’s had 8 years here with zero improvement in the playoffs and our biggest rivals
  16. It's really weird to see this comment from someone with the name Nihilarian
  17. That's so wild, I didn't even know about that and just read a little more about it. That little girl that was one of the people he hit in a parked car because he was so drunk has a serious TBI that's going to affect her for the rest of her life and this guy's getting a commuted sentence when the prosecutor didn't even go for the max sentence in the original case. Those parents must be so furious, I can't even imagine. "Strange" is being pretty charitable
  18. I've seen you post a few times about the "tournament" and it's supposed lack of real meaning...I guess I would ask you what you think what a Process that you trust is for then in general if not a championship. Is it for the best record? Because we haven't had that either. I'm just curious honestly. What's your barometer for the apex of success? Or is there not one?
  19. I like Eric Wood but what a mountain of a leap here. You're still left with quite a bit of ugly baggage of Incognito even if you took away this whole incident.
  20. He's had 8 years to build the defense and scheme that he wants. Why doesn't it take good defensive coaches anywhere close to that long to do that? And you're always going to have some injuries. McDermott has let us down in the biggest games in every single postseason. He and his side of the ball have never pulled their weight. It's fine if you like the guy, but it's the objective truth that his side of the ball has been a big letdown in his time here.
  21. But it's not like saying that because Josh has played very well in the postseason, he's done his part. McDermott hasn't, his side of the ball has let us down in SIX straight postseasons.
  22. I want to beat him though after how many times he's just destroyed us
  23. I think that has to be shown on the field. He hasn't swallowed his pride to change anything to combat the Chiefs after all these years. I hope he is because we need drastic changes from what we've been doing defensively.
  24. Didn't the D struggle for years in big games when we had Frazier and he kept him? Also ST were terrible in '23-'24 and he still kept Smiley.
  25. Because the question that's being begged to be answered is what exactly is it that's a net positive that McDermott is bringing to the table here? If his side of the ball, his proficiency, has let us down tremendously 6 years in a row which it has...and he's not a good in-game manager...we have a major Head Coach problem that's standing in our way. The Chargers DID make a change, and rightfully so. We've started the see the benefit of that for them and I think that uptrend is going to continue. I'm sure Bengals fans share a lot of concerns over keeping their guy even though they have made it to a Super Bowl. I mean sure, you can count those if you want to. But why is our standard is to compare ourselves to the 2 absolute worst situations with very good to elite QB play rather than all of the other situations that are winning SB's? Or teams that probably could if their guy played anywhere close to as well as Josh overall has in the playoffs? McDermott has almost completely flushed the 20's of the best QB we've ever had because he can't put together a defense that can hold Mahomes under ridiculously gaudy numbers like completing 75% of his passes when this isn't happening for him against other top teams. Just an honest question...do you think McD's defense has not been the primary problem of why we haven't gotten to the Super Bowl yet?
