  1. Wow has to be the fastest growing thread of all time. I awoke last night around 4am and couldn't go back to sleep so turned on my tablet and saw the news. SHOCKED! When I saw that it was not done and AB's Fake News take I realized it was likely not coming to fruition. I fell asleep again and awoke to see Beane's statement saying OBD had moved on. So my takeaways from all this: Beane and McD have prioritized improving the WR position. This is key as when OBD was faced with same issue last year all they did prior to season was sign a JAG in Kerley and drafted 2 smurfs in Rd 7. They must see the need for a veteran WR that can have immediate impact this year. This is a good development. The locker room must be sensing that 2019 is not a rebuild year as they see management looking to add a difference maker of the largest magnitude. OBD has to try and win now in Josh Allen's rookie deal. Look for the Bills to add Vets at OL, TE and WR in FA or trade before 3/13 as today the Bills have lowest payroll at all 3 positions. Beane is aggressive and will move on to next priority. Personally not a fan of AB. So not upset. Glad we didn't have to rewrite a deal to get him here and restart the cap jail engine! And I am old enough to remember the last Steeler's WR who came here - Frank Lewis - who had some good years here (270 catches for 4600 yds and 24 TDs) alongside Jerry Butler in the late 70's early 80's. By the way he was also 31 when Bills picked him up in 1978!
  2. Agreed, yes he did in 1993 with a bunch of players he helped assemble. Unfortunately he couldn't find the next franchise QB - a fault all his successors have shared. Let's hope Beane has found him.
  3. Initially in Denver he was a hybrid DE/Dt and played some at 3T. Then they went to 3-4 and he became a 5T. Same type of flexibility in his roles at Jax too.
  4. While I Iiked John Butler the person and hated that we lost him to cancer too early (at 56) - he hurt this franchise immensely at the end of his tenure before his firing. Traded for Rob Johnson, then put us in Cap Jail in 1999-2000 and drafted Erik Flowers as his last Rd 1 pick
  5. Sorry not being cheesy or snarky just not an AB fan. In my opinion giving up way too much for a player who will want an extension before playing a down. OBD gave up a single player in Kiko for Shady and rewrite his deal - when he was 26! Not willing to trade for a 31 year old WR with QB issues.
  6. Do you think Steelers would ever trade him in division? Thought they were looking to ship him to NFC
  7. Maybe I could get on board for that. Expensive for a part time Big Nickle Safety Collins stats last year were not better than Poyer's btw Collins No INTs, 1 FF, no sacks, 5 TFL. 8. OK so make an offer to sign him - what would you be willing to pay him?
  9. Collins was ranked #39 in 2018 btw. For what he would want won't be worth the incremental $$ IMHO. Poyer better than Weddle in 2018 by a large margin in every measurable Weddle (made Pro bowl on rep/name only in 2018) Game Game Def Def Def Def Def Fumb Fumb Fumb Fumb Fumb Tack Tack Tack Tack Tack Age Tm Pos No. G GS Int Yds TD Lng PD FF Fmb FR Yds TD Sk Comb Solo Ast TFL QBHits Sfty AV 33 BAL FS 32 16 16 0 0 0 0 3 1.0 68 54 14 2 4 9 No picks, no forced fumbles, no recoveries, no TDs and one sack with 3 passes defended. 68 TT Poyer Game Game Def Def Def Def Def Fumb Fumb Fumb Fumb Fumb Tack Tack Tack Tack Tack Age Tm Pos No. G GS Int Yds TD Lng PD FF Fmb FR Yds TD Sk Comb Solo Ast TFL QBHits Sfty AV 27 BUF FS 21 16 16 4 11 0 11 6 1 0 1 0 0 2.0 100 73 27 9 3 INTs 4>0, PD 6>3, FF 1>0, FR 1>0, Sk 2>1, Tackles 100>68, TFL 9>2 I keep the younger dude with better stats.
  10. Poyer had 33% more tackles, 7 more TFLs and more QB hits and sacks too. Weddle was exposed in coverage last year. Father time is undefeated. Andrew Wingard is name to watch in draft at S
  11. very EJ Gaines-ish scouting report. And a complicated injury history to match. 1 year low $ signing makes sense to me.

  13. Pass - dude's like 34 and done. He missed Tyler Boyd on Bengals TD vs Ravens at end of 2017 that got us in playoffs - so thanks for playing
  14. I like your plan but would be very hesitant to sign trent Brown at LT as he is an RT forced to play there when Isiah Wynn got hurt. He is not a good pass pro guy and the NE quick passing game covered up some glaring holes in his game. Remember when we played Langston Walker at LT - disaster! Have to believe that RT (Daryl Williams) or LG (Foster, Saffold) may be targets now in FA given Long signing. Bills could grab an LT (Williams, Dillard) and C (McCoy, Bradbury) in draft then. Line could look like this then: Williams, Saffold, Long, Dawkins, Williams with Bradbury, Teller and Serles as backups. Good mix of vets and youngsters Daryl Williams and Jordan Phillips were teammates at OU for 2-3 years. Wonder if they have a tight relationship?
  15. 2nd if Bradbury. 3rd or 1st 4th rd pick if McCoy from A&M. Just a guess
  16. If exclusive Franchise tag is used the player can not negotiate with another team. If non exclusive they can talk to other teams who would surrender 2 1st rd draft picks upon signing. Not a likely scenario given contract $$ required.
  17. http://www.espn.com/blog/los-angeles-rams/post/_/id/39526/longest-tenured-ram-rodger-saffold-has-seen-it-all-and-wants-to-come-back-for-more Multiple injuries including a knee late in 2018
  18. Based on what Bills did to Richie, Sullivan will be lucky to get 1 yr at $4-5MM at his age on open market and after 2018 and SB performance on his part. Saffold has a chronic injury that has bothered him for a few years now and given that he is over 30< would take a pass here too.
  19. Hard pass. PFF rated Bodine #18 C and we also have Long. Sullivan rated #31 of all Cs and he is 34 yrs old. Still believe Bills will draft long term solution at C this year in McCoy from A&M or Bradbury NC State. Long or Bodine will be short term solution.
  20. Draft loaded at TE, OL and WR so Bills can pick up players throughout draft and have collateral to move up to get a targeted guy. If Oliver, Quinnen Williams, Bosa or Allen drop to us at 9 - I believe you have to take them. If all are gone could see OBD try to trade down to get additional top 75 pick. Memoryof Colts, Jags and patriots RBs going over 200 YPG is stuck in my mind. Bills need help in DL interior in a big way now.
