  1. Agreed, great route design. used Ramsey's aggressiveness against him. Church did not have coverage to sideline, Ramsey should have dropped into zone outside the #s. Notice how Bouye released him to Church.
  2. In the Jags game, Jalen Ramsey had the deep 1/3 of field that Foster ran to on the 75 yd TD and bit on the underneath route to Zay instead. MISTAKE!!!
  3. If we trade back in Rd 1, secure an additional 2nd and then jump back into the 1st to target a player that makes sense as we get a 5th year option year on that player targeted via trade up.
  4. Wow that is amazing! Shady and Hughes were best trades made by each respective prior regime (Nix and Whaley). Lorax was best FA signed by Whaley in Rex tenure. Shaq was most questionable 1st Rd pick by Rex regime. Ferguson was signed/waived/re-signed to PS in Rex's last year. The 2013-2015 draft choices should be the core of today's Bills. Sadly they are not. So the new regime is trying to assemble a strong young core that will develop together. This year's FA period and draft will be telling.
  5. To the timeout chair to get his mouth washed out with soap...of our choosing btw!
  6. As previously mentioned, there are 2 main causes. A dearth of players coming out of college familiar with 3 point stance, blitz pickup and run block schemes necessary for pro game. Its why Wisc, Michigan, Iowa and Nebraska send so many Olinemen to the pros. And with 20-30% roster turnover year to year in NFL it means most team lose at least one starter. To build cohesion in a new line is hard given CBA restrictions in practice. May be why going young FA with scheme familiarity might trump a draft choice in the case of OBD this year. Any draft choice in Rds 1-3 will likeley be asked to start. Can see OBD taking a player in draft to start and also signing another FA to start.
  7. Here is a nice article on this year's draft by Joe Marino at Draft Network. All about 6 things he likes about this draft. Four of the 6 favor the Bills: Actually Good Olinemen Ridiculously Deep TE Crop Pass Rushers Galore RB Variance It would appear the draft board could favor Bills this year. Good read https://thedraftnetwork.com/2019/02/14/6-pack-thursday-things-i-love-about-the-2019-nfl-draft/
  8. Keep him as starter one more year. Draft his eventual replacement in Montgomery ISU, Singletary FAU or Henderson MEM. Shady can split carries and play 3rd down as he knows protection scheme etc. Would like to see more loaded backfield with motion etc to get desired matchup on LB in passing game.
  9. Not sure how you see Cousins deal as great way to beat cap shortage. As each year is guaranteed don't they face cap hit of balance due? $60mm dead cap hit if he is cut now
  10. As predicted in most corners. Glad they let him go prior to FA signing period as increases odds for him to possibly catch on with another team. Solid citizen, nice talent with bad knees.
  11. All the scouting on Harrison Philips coming out of Stanford was he played a NT or 0 technique. The national media and lots of fans compared him to Kyle Williams due to his being a smaller ST with a strong work ethic. Though he did play some at the 3 T in relief of Kyle it was actually Jordan Philips who got more snaps there. If both were under contract now Jordan would likely show as the 3T starter in depth chart. Expect OBD to sign a FA 3T or draft one in middle rounds. I hope they re-sign Jordan Philips too.
  12. Amendola will be 34 at start of season and averaged < 10 ypc last year and scored only 1 TD. He threw for as many last year? PASS. I would take Adam Humphries as slot or Z . Crabtree is not an X receiver who dictates coverage anymore. Doesn't separate and another 10 ypc guy. Only 3 Tds last year. Duke Williams and/or a FA / Draftee will compete for X position. Tyrell Williams or Demaryious Thomas are X receiver as is D Metcalf.
  13. Just for the record, and admittedly not a proud moment, OBD traded their #1 pick in 1998 draft to JAGS for Johnson (pick became Fred Taylor, RB). They wish they just signed him as a FA!
  14. no we have 2 young ones who have good hang time and long legs under contract coming off IR
  15. good analysis on ITs so the I never mentioned Demarcus Lawrence. Why are you?
  16. Confused? here. Only 1 RT over $10mm now, all others including last years FAs and Massie are under $9mm per year so wonder where your math is coming from. And btw I never said a thing about Lawrence or judicious.
  17. My hope is Daryl Williams, RT from Panthers and Trey Flowers, DE Patriots sign here and are our big splash. I thought OBD might be interested in signing Jon Halapio C from Giants but but they went with Spencer Long who is similar type player. Mods, maybe this thread needs to be merged into FA thread pinned at the top?
  18. At least a participation award. let me check with James Harrison
  19. Really good question OP. I believe that as the roster is now, no they are not ready. Take away Zo, House Money and we might be one of 5 youngest rosters in the league. Allen and Tremaine must emerge as the core leaders on team first. Zo will be gone next year and Shady so will be a need for leaders. AB will likley only fit in on team in the hunt, with a coach that knows him and with a veteran QB who can get him the ball. Tampa with Arians and Winston may be the fit.
