Josh Allen vs Carson Wentz - Rookie Season
freddyjj replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When he returned from injury, Josh had 4 games over 70 in passer rating with 2 duds (Jets and NE). His passer rating in last 6 games averaged 76. Selective yes, but the Bills offense was different then too with Foster etc. -
Which RB are we spending an early round pick on?
freddyjj replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Man I like Snell too. He had a huge amount of carries at KY. Used in and is great at pass protection. Really not used in KY passing game as only 29 receptions in 3 years. Per scouting reports real questions if he can separate in passing game in pros and beat second level in running game given limited physical skills (bad 40 time, vertical at combine). Not an overly explosive player. See him being a late round (6 or 7) pickup at this point with bad combine and receiving skills being questioned. https://thedraftnetwork.com/player/benny-snell -
Rochester mayor to announce 6th round pick

The Judge was relieved to hear that 1919 season was 1 year before Prohibition. And then she ruled to reinstate beer sales after half time! -
Liked Ivory when with Jets. Will remember his 2 long catch and runs as a Bill vs Vikes and Fins. Wish him luck. Gore is a very effective short yardage and goal line back. And Shady should be more effective with a new OLine and Oline coach. Both these guys can play all 3 downs too as they are good receivers and pass blockers. Some young RB is going to be blessed to have a year to learn from Frank Gore and Shady how to study, practice and play like a pro. That 3rd RB will get on the field aplenty in Daboll's offense - especially if that RB is from 'Bama! Picking up pass pro and releases in the passing game will be where the old men can help teach them the most.

Yes Tre beat 2x for 70 yds by him that day. I stand corrected. Wallace was beat 4x by Galloday that day

93.7 the fan in Pgh bashes the bills some more
freddyjj replied to QBorBust2018's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
beat them this year and we will feel better -
Wallace only faced one big WR in those last 7 games - Kenny Galloday from Lions who caught 7/8 passes thrown his way for 146 yds. With us playing CLE, PIT, CIN, PHL the level of WRs will be much better than last end of last season NYJ, MIA, NE) . Wallace also gave up the play to Moncrief at goal line vs JAGS that preceded the Fournette / Lawson throwdown. OBD may be worried about him vs big-time talent WRs.

Bills 53 offensive line projection
freddyjj replied to RPbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He started and played one complete game vs Miami. Most of other plays were as extra blocker. Only played over 15 plays in 2 other games. His signing a one year vet minimum deal points to his possibly being released with little repercussion. Waddle signing not a good sign for him. -
Glad he is getting out with full use of his faculties, as limited as they were to begin with. ?

Bills 53 offensive line projection

Have to believe Beane adds at least 2 more players to mix in FA/Draft. I see another guard coming and an OT. Long and Feliciano can back up Morse. 9 on active roster then. I will guess at those players currently under contract that will be let go - bolded below Dawkins Nsekhe Waddle Morse Long Feliciano Teller Boettger - PS target Ducasse Sirles Bodine McDermott -
This should fit him, and like his UH one, slightly used?

Agreed - Oliver played 0T or NT for Houston and was the only difference maker on that D Line - and had strong numbers. Playing out of position and eating double and triple teams was his job - he did it and never complained. At the point of the coat incident, his coach Major Applewhite was hanging by a thread and over-reacted IMHO. Subsequently fired.

Where would Allen be drafted/projected in this draft?
freddyjj replied to HansLanda's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
At 9 by Bills. And we would have saved some draft capital versus last year -
Here is some more food for thought from 2017 draft scouting reports https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/draft-pff-scouting-report-dion-dawkins-g-temple

DE, Jachai Polite, FL in the 2nd Rnd
freddyjj replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Biggest audition of his life and he showed up out of shape, overweight and surly. Several clubs said worst interview ever at Combine. Not a prayer he becomes a Bill. -
Good question. McLaurin has very good receiving skills and is an ST demon. Good gunner https://thedraftnetwork.com/player/terry-mclaurin

Shaq Lawson 5th year option
freddyjj replied to Bleeding Bills Blue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
voted yes as can revoke before next year per below: For first-rounders picked outside the top 10, the calculation is a little more complicated. These players’ fifth-year option also relies on the previous year’s salaries at the player’s position, but it’s determined by the average of the third through 25th top salaries at that position. So we could come up with estimates for the 2019 option salary for players like Melvin Gordon, Byron Jones, and Trae Waynes, but they’re not set in stone quite yet. Fifth-year options are guaranteed for injury only between May 3 and the start of the following league year. As such, they’re not entirely risk-free, but as long as the player remains healthy, a team could exercise his fifth-year option, then cut him before his option year gets underway without being on the hook for his salary. When the league year begins, the player’s fifth-year salary becomes guaranteed for skill and cap purposes, as well as injury -
So here is Cordy Glenn trade breakdown from NFL.com last year. According to ESPN reporter Josina Anderson, the Bengals are trading for Buffalo Billsoffensive tackle Cordy Glenn. According to NFL Network reporter Peter Schrager, the Bengals will swap first-round picks with Buffalo, moving from No. 12 to the No. 21 pick in Round 1. The Bengals will get the Bills’ fifth-round pick, and the Bills get the Bengals’ sixth-round pick. The Trade was made to move up 9 spots to be in a better position to grab our targeted QB - Josh Allen. Swap of later picks irrelevant. While OBD may have been confident last Spring that Dawkins could play LT, his own evaluation of his play last year and release of OLine coach doesn't point towards OBD being happy with Dawkins at LT now. I believe Nsekhe could replace Dawkins at LT this year as it is his best spot. Should be noted Bills kept 4 OTs last year with McDermott on 53 man roster. So could see a Rd 1- 3 draftee at OT to challenge at LT or RT or Swing with Waddle, Nsekhe and Dawkins on roster too. Anyone picked later than 5 may be PS developmental player.
