The Athletic: Bills QB room article - includes AFC East QB shade
BigDingus replied to stevewin's topic in The Stadium Wall
Maybe Josh can just feign that he was referring to their mobility? 😅 -
I still don't get why people get worked up about this? At this point, you have to just accept Mahomes is the best QB in the league. That will give them the edge in predictions/power rankings any time it's close. Mahomes: 4,720 passing yards / 37 passing TD's / 11 INT's / 66.9 comp. % / 105.1 passer rating Allen: 4,029 passing yards / 32 passing TD's / 13 INT's / 63.4 comp. % / 96.1 passer rating Mahomes: 321 rushing yards / 4 TD's / 0 fumbles lost Allen: 746 rushing yards / 7 TD's / 2 fumbles lost So Mahomes is better in every single passing category, Allen is better in rushing. Even adding Allen's rushing stats, Mahomes has more total TD's & less turnovers. Hell, if you combine Allen's rushing & passing yards, he only barely edges out just Mahomes' passing total by 55 yards. And all of that is ok! We're not trying to win best overall QB, we're trying to win a SB! We also know when Allen plays at his best, he's as good as anyone in the league including Mahomes. He doesn't play that way as consistently as Mahomes, but he's capable of doing it when it counts. Burrow isn't better than Mahomes, yet the Bengals are 3-0 against them. Brady being the GOAT didn't lead to a SB win every year, nor did peak Peyton Manning guarantee him SB wins.

Prime Time Josh vs Sunday 1pm Sugar Rush Josh

Are those numbers a bit off? I can remember 2 INT's against the Rams & 2 INT's vs the Packers. -

LOL Bills getting blasted on NFL Live for running up the score & keeping Allen out there with a 1 min left 🤣 -

Yup. That second Allen INT was one of the worst I've ever seen from a pro QB. But it is what it is, you just have to take the good with the bad & hope Allen gets it together when it matters most. Having all the time in the world, completely open vision, then just noodle arming it to a DB? Weird. -
Of course they're an issue. Anyone that says otherwise is lying to themselves. You can't say 16 turnovers is "fine" or "no problem." But that's what you get with Josh Allen, and you just have to take the good with the bad. This team only goes as far as Allen takes them, so you ride it out & hope for the best! He's our QB, and we support him despite the flaws 👍

Also, we can see Allen can play just fine in cold & snow. Him & the offense struggle in wind & rain, but everyone does. LOVED this game! -

This may have been my favorite regular season game of the Allen era! Allen was on point all game, and if it weren't for a bunch of drops, offense was clutch! Also, crazy how close the games with Miami were this year. In 2 games, there was a combined 1 point difference (Bills 51 points, Fish 50). -

Normally I'd be rooting for a crazy comeback, but the Bills have so few league-wide records I don't want one to get eclipsed! Hell, if Brady had lost 3 straight Super Bowls & was in a 4th, I'd be praying for him to win just so we still at least had that record 😅 -
Orlovsky: Bills aren't as talented offensively as we thought
BigDingus replied to Billz4ever's topic in The Stadium Wall
I feel like some of that is Dorsey's offense & the team not being quite on the same page as they were under Daboll. The O-line still isn't good imo, just serviceable. Josh also hasn't been as patient with taking what the defense gives him, leading to go falling back into old tendencies. Biggest sore spot is still redzone offense. Turnovers & inability to score TDs has helped keep lesser teams in many games against us. -

Just another one of those times weather helps keep inferior teams in the game... The conditions help neutralize our biggest strength & provide opportunities to make the game a sloppier affair than usual -
I just don't think McD believes he's the best option for the job. We fans want to see him & have high expectations due to his draft position, but I gotta think Frazier & McDermott also would want him playing IF they thought it was best for the team.

Major difference between yesterday and previous four games
BigDingus replied to Italian Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Biggest difference was Josh's back to back drives nearly throwing a pick into double, then quadruple coverage, were both somehow dropped. Then the Pats scored 0 points off his fumble (not really his fault imo though, pressure was there instantly). I know, it's a bit of a negative post, but he's not "back to old Josh" just yet. -

BigDingus replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
True, but Josh isn't good at that anymore... I don't know why, but he's just started playing careless again. But as you said, pressure was there pretty quick, so normally you could forgive it. -

Aaaand this is what I was afraid of... throwing into double coverage & nearly picked, then throwing into quadruple coverage... Just throw it away please! -

Gonna be honest, that exact type of throw is what has lead to so many turnovers lately & almost gave me a heart attack! Redzone, rollout to the right, then throw across the body to the middle of the endzone right as he's nearing the sideline. Glad it worked, but I definitely stopped breathing for a moment... -

Nothing we've seen from this game is encouraging... on either side of the ball. Why is everything so damn hard for this team? I mean seriously, EVERYTHING is a struggle! Can't tackle, can't cover, can't run, 50% completions again, can't cover ST, can't hit PAT's... it's everything! -

This team is back to finding ways to lose... Why does it always have to be so difficult?! -

Plenty of people are happy with the win. But people like to talk football. Pointing out the obvious & discussing it isn't PTSD or indicative of people being negative... so dramatic. Discussion & speculation is what this board is for. It's not all "Rah! Rah! Bills best everrrr!" and talking about issues doesn't make you a bad fan. I'll always think back to that thread before the GB game where some tweet was arrogantly asking why Bills fans aren't more confident (because they weren't out gloating/being cocky thinking we'd steamroll everyone)... Well look how the past month has been! Mocking replies where people sarcastically say "remember the Jags"... as if that could never possibly happen again?? C'mon. Nobody said the sky is falling. Nobody is saying all hope is lost. Nobody isn't cheering for the team or burning their Josh Alllen jerseys. But for some reason, express concern after a month of your QB struggling, the same one everyone was more than happy to proclaim was BETTER than Mahomes & MVP favorite, you're suddenly "negative," or have PTSD, or have posts psychoanalyzing how that may reflect on their family life? 😑 I hope people can just accept not all fans want to just coast by the entire season pretending everything's perfect. Sometimes we like to discuss what we see on the field & speculate on how it impacts our chances going forward. / this ends today's Ted Talk -
NFL Week # 11 - Browns at Bills (Detroit) - Post game thread
BigDingus replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
So Josh hasn't played well for a month now... is it too late to bring Daboll back? He just choked against the Lions, might be available 😅 Speaking of which... Lions D played s pretty good game & that offense put up 31 points. Hope the Bills don't take them too lightly this week -
Just having warm bodies available isn't the same as having CBs who can play WELL.

Since I'm obsessed with the weather news, $10 says Josh has a great game now that it's been moved to a dome & will make those passes with ease this week 😉 -
Sunday's game vs Cleveland is being moved to Detroit
BigDingus replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
I know it's petty af, but if I were the Lions brass/NFL, I'd say "Nope! A roof wasn't important to you when you invested $1.4 billion in a new stadium, don't come asking to use one ours now!" 🤣
